@@omegarussell4017 why should he have to get a part time job? Teachers do more than just the work at school. Had she offered to pay a little more, he wouldn't have taken her back to court. He was only getting $450 and half of that went to their insurance. He didn't even realize he was going to get that much more, he just wanted help with the tutoring.

Why does she have to pay all the Insurance....on top of child support... especially if she is at the top end....as a teacher is it not covered by his benefits

i was offended when she said "broke little teacher" coz my mom's a teacher and yes she doesnt earn that much but everytime someone approaches her and tell her how thankful he or she is for having my mom as a grade 6 teacher i always feel so proud.

It always makes me livid and disgusted to see/hear parents refer to parenting as "babysitting", or putting themselves (career advancement, social life, material possessions, personal comfort, etc)before the children, who didn't choose to be in that situation...or alive at all, for that matter.

This woman said she makes $150,000 a year, which is $12,500 per month. Let's say after taxes her net monthly income is $10,000. 30% of $10,000 is $3000 per month. But Texas caps monthly child support to $2760 for 3 children as of Sep 2019.

@@ibleedblue56 You do realize that most teachers have to pay for their own classroom materials, right? They aren’t reimbursed for that. And besides that, 50k/yr with bills and 3 children is tight. The fact is that we do not pay public school teachers enough at the end of the day, and if you don’t like what they teach then you can either take it up with the school board or shell out the money for a private school that meets your exacting standards.

As a former teacher who currently tutors, I can tell you that tutoring can get expensive, especially if a child needs intervention twice a week. Hopefully, their children can catch up with extra help in 6-8 months. However, the need for tutoring can go on indefinitely. Kudos to dad for speaking up and demanding what is needed for his children's learning.
