EmmaLee, good job on tasting the sardines. You should have challenged your dad to eat one along with you. Nice video of Bella's leap into the truck bed. Jacoby is a trooper when it comes to helping with the traps. Sometimes a smile says more than spoken words, and Jacoby does that well.

Creating memories with the children is something i never did and wish that i did. I know that have memories of me raising them because i raised them by myself. That in itself is good. I treasure your videos and can see the love you have for your children. I am proud of your daughter for at least trying the sardines. Looking forward to the next video.

Some of my greatest memories as a kid were exploring the woods and crawdad fishing in the creek. So awesome to see the great times your creating for your kiddos and I’m sure they will have some of those same great memories. Really neat time lapse of the cicadas!

Daniel you literally just made Emmalee even more "appealing" to those male peers!! Lol. You should put the traps in your pond, mine has plenty of "mud bugs" or crawl dad's as I call them. Coby great job! You are one more awesome young man and brave: Daniel: "just watch out for that snake, Coby" Coby calmly replies and asks: "ok, where's it at", lol. Great video.... And by the way, the sardines in oil taste much better...lol... When I was much younger, then living in eastern Kentucky , I spent many nights catching craw dads by hand and with a "sanning" net... Keep on making those memories...👍👍👍

I grew up eating sardines and kippers on toast nearly every day. It's weird for me to see kids finding it gross to eat. I guess its whatever you are used to and grow up with. Great video as usual! 😁

If you drain off the liquid the sardines come in and dry it a little it tastes great with spicy kim chee, and brown rice or poi. If you want something a little sweet to offset the salted or spicy food you can add taegu(shredded cod fish) as a side dish. Our family appreciated the canned sardines as a different taste and food source years ago when a West Coast shipping strike caused food shortages on our island.

Aww! Your videos are really cute! I think it depends on what part of the world your from when it comes to what people call crawfish or is it crayfish? They are good bait for rainbow trout though you have to remove the head and scoop out their body of the crawdad and not get pinched in the process. Great to see you all!

I hate to add to your "fresh water lobster" litany, but here in most parts of Canada we call them crayfish. lol It doesn't matter what you call them, to each their own. Forgiven and... I would eat sardines over cat fish or crawdads anytime, they come from fairly clean seas or oceans, not muddy, dirty bottoms. If you think sardines are gross, then stick to raccoons, opossums and catfish

We use turkey necks for crabbing, might make good bait for the traps. (In my area of Maryland, we call mudbugs Crayfish.)

Reminds me ofthe 1950s/1960s, my parents would get sardines with ketchup or with mustard. In addition to the oil and water. Haven't thought about sardines in a long time. Lol

Love sardines in oil (olive or soybean) drain the can. I used to eat them on saltines, but as a diabetic, eat them straight to avoid the carbs. Emily, you show them boys!

I like 'em with mustard. I don't buy the ones already in mustard in the can, but I put mustard on them. Not only are they good crawdad bait, but they are the best trail camera bait I've ever used. I've captured images of many gray foxes and even a black bear. If you set some out in front of a trail camera on your place, you might get some footage of some gray foxes. I always got gray foxes with sardines. They cannot resist them.

I guess the bluegills and crawdads thought the same about the sardines as Emily. I’d put a game camera on that feeder. The critters are gonna be all over it... probably worse than the goats.

The new trap that you have is called an opera house in Australia. We can’t use them anymore in Victoria where I live...illegal! We can still use a drop net which is a series of different sized hoops that drops flat.

Daniel check out Meat trappers video How to make a plastic crawfish trap. This is the closest to what we made growing up in Louisiana but with hardware cloth. The thing he doesn't do is push the funnels down about 1 inch from the bottom so you have a low ramp for the crawfish to clime in.

My girls love crawdad hunting with me up in the cascades. The best bait I have ever found is brown sugar baked beans. Not only do they fill our trap but we really enjoy catching them by hand so If you bait the water along the shore and go down after dark they will be crawling everywhere!! It calls them in from all over. They will just be munching on the beans.

I like sardines in oil with yellow mustard, salt and pepper. When my wife was pregnant with one of the kids she loved sardine loaded down with cayenne pepper sandwiches. Normally she hates sardines and don't eat hot stuff. Emily is braver than most adults I know.

steve ruby when I was expecting my son I had a taste for boneless sardines with saltines and sliced raw white onions. Just ate some with my husband and developed the taste. I haven’t wanted them since.

Sardines for crawdads? I’d rather just eat the sardines with a little onion and Tiger Sauce. Try canned cat food, dogs even prefer it to dog food, sprinkle on a little Alaska fish fertilizer.
