If you are hungry you won’t even have time to question anything or fight back cause all you can think about is how to procure food and survive. And they literally instill to people there that KJU is god and he knows everything even what’s in your mind. Heck, even if you go to NK there the tourists aren’t allowed to talk to the citizens there. No interaction or whatsoever. You know why? But lately everything seems so exaggerated. Take this story for example, how could she have not known that they were fat or not known which one is a Kim. She was born in a relatively rich family in NK, and according to her mother when she heard that some North Korean defectors reported starving she said “I feel like I’m not even North Korean, I don’t know anything what these people are saying.” Just search up “Yeonmi Park: The Defector Who Fooled The World” for an extensive debunking of her claims.
@@andreahernandez5771 Her and her mother appeared on a Korean TV show for North Korean defectors. All the other women on the show talked about how hard their life was and that they were poor and starving in NK, but her and her mother said they were shocked to know there were such poor people in NK since they lived in a nice area and were relatively wealthy. Pictures of her childhood were shown of them wearing nice clothes as well.
The one lady who got recaptured after escaping….that is crazy. I can’t even imagine how she felt. I don’t know why she went back to the border, but she still didn’t deserve that. Rest in peace

From her own words, 3 generations of her entire family have been killed. She has been on RU-vid for many years. There has been a wide variation in the stories she tells.
When I first heard her story my heart went out to her. Then I learned and saw evidence of her contradicting herself at every turn. Then I learned she was on a variety show in South Korea for Northern Koreans and then I saw evidence that she was from one of the higher classes in North Korea. She lied about her grandfather’s death and burial, about the details surrounding that, their escape, just….everything she’s said, she’s said the opposite to others, gone back on her stories and when others went to independently verify her story there were more holes in it than the Swiss cheese Kim Jong-Un spends almost a million American dollars a year importing to satiate his cravings 🙄 I hate when people lie like this. It means everyone else will be questioned on the veracity of their stories. Kind of like when women falsely accuse men of SA and people wonder why the real victims keep their mouths shut.

She is trying to explain it didn't process to her that the reason Kim looks like that is because he eats well otherwise he'd be skinny. Eating a lot and becoming bigger because of it is not common knowledge in North Korea. However it's kind of confusing because I remember her saying being bigger is the beauty standard in North Korea because being larger means you eat well/signify wealth. So idrk

Yeonmi Park has a record of lying/exaggerating her experiences for attention and news coverage. Even other North Korean defectors have doubted the truth of her stories, like when she was going around telling people that North Koreans have to get off trains to push them.

I am from Cuba, I lived there until I hit my middle age. Even when there is much better access to information there than in North Korea, brain washing starts when you start kindergarten, it goes on for generations, so people who shape your mind and ideas are also thoroughly brainwashed, to the point of denial of facts that you can see with your own eyes. There are comments about her lying because many other North Korean defectors have called her out for lying. Also she constantly contradicts herself in her stories. Her stories are so outlandish that it’s starting to sound more like fantasy than reality.
She defected from NK before Kim Jong-Un became a dictator yet here she speaks as if she lived under his leadership. I don't know if he appeared in public at all before becoming the leader, but Kim Jong-il and Kim Il Sung, his father and his grandfather pictures were mandatory in households and public spaces and they do appear fat, so it's hard not to notice how they're fat. She's basically a comedian at this point, talking all the over the top stuff that people swallow without double checking any facts. You can criticize NK for what it is without making an absurd comedy show.
