Is it just me or do created geckos with no tails look like long frogs?

She probably dropped it because she was eating her skin then accidentally bit her tail so she freaked out thinking it was a predator and dropped it

maybe its because when crested geckos usually eat their shed skin, she might've accidentally bit herself on the tail and got frightened, so she dropped it. or maybe her shed skin got too tight and she dropped it because theres a loss of blood flow on the tail. idk if it makes sense xD

this is a good weight loss technique. just. cut off one of your limbs.

She decided she just didn't want it anymore or maybe she sacred herself I'd be sad if my Leo's dropped their tails "Do I bury it!!! " 😂😂😂

Aw, don't feel bad ❤ SO many cresties drop their tail, even for the simplest reasons. It's not your fault. Also, and this is just my opinion, I find cresties with no tails are cuter 😉

Don't worry at all. At first she'll have to adapt to having no tail, but over the time she will have no problems climbing, jumping or balancing. I know I'm telling you to not worry, but I know I will be as sad and worried as you are when my crestie loses his tail, but it doesn't seem to affect them at all! And yes, I said when, and not "if" because let's be honest, it will eventually happen, most of the adult wild cresties don't have a tail either.

About a month ago Gizmo dropped her tail, my wife and i where just like you so upset and were shocked she was under no stress at all. But now we found he was laying eggs so he is a she and was laying an egg at the time and my wife was due to give birth at the same time. Its still shocking even now, but Gizmo is much more happy and has got the balence back. so do not worry they will adapt. It took a few weeks to heal. we did not get her out for about a week to calm and chill and heal.

She's going through her transition to become a tortoise starting with a shorter tail

Oh Isla... Always something! As a Crestie owner myself, I know its inevitable that at some point in their lives, most all crested geckos drop their tails. I know they use them so much and it's hard to think what they'd do without them, but they adapt so quickly. It may take her less than a week to get her balance back and she will be just fine. Sometimes their isn't a reason, it just comes off with the shed or drops. She'll be just fine, just a frog butt :)

The skin is so tight when shedding. A humid hide really helps. Soak some warm Qtips to help get smaller scales off. It’s really heartbreaking when this happens.

It looks like her shed got stuck so out of being spooked and stressed she probably just dropped it.

Sometimes leopard geckos and crested geckos will drop their tails because of the stuck shed on it to avoid the lack of blood flow.

She will be okay.It happens to most people.I hate when this happens to people.Im sorry about your gecko.I will be praying for you and her.
