I’m 53. My hair is that long and I want to KEEP it long because my dream is to have long silver hair as I grow old with my grandbabies pulling on it. 😆 No grandbabies yet but the greys are coming in.

I started watching your videos with a friend who's going through school to do hair and she wanted to get tips and techniques for natural hair. In our area, sadly, there isn't much teaching in hair college for natural hair, yet we have a huge black community. It makes no sense! So anyway, thank you for doing what you do and helping people to understand what and how to do hair of all types and textures. It should be common practice in cosmetology college to learn how to care for ALL your clients not just the white ones.

It looks like she has high porosity hair. Her hair seems like mine! It dries quickly, absorbs products, and tangles easily. You did a good job doing her hair, not all can do hair like this. The challenge isn’t just that it is long but it is fine in texture, low to medium density, and porous. Flat ironing in bigger sections helps this hair not suffer heat damage and using a good sealant like color wow is great for preventing reversion because healthy natural hair wants to revert, especially if it is high porosity. I wonder how long this lasted for her and how she manages her hair between silk presses.

I AM SOOOO GLAD YOU MENTIONED THE DRYER AND THE STEAMER! My hair is similar in curl pattern and length, BUT I am a DENSE/THICK/HIGHLY POROUS Natural and when I TELL YOU STEAM IS THE MVP IN MY NATURAL HAIR CARE REGIMINE!!!!! Sidenote: I use a standing fabric steamer, because I already had one, and I "experimented" standing NEXT TO IT while the steam was flowing. PLEASE TRY THIS. IT IS A GOD-SEND.

She has beautiful hair. I grew my hair that long one time. It was a lot of work to take care of, so I took my clippers and cut it down to 1 and a quarter of an inch. I love short hair. I just had about 7 inches cut off, which left me with 6 inches of hair. When I want long hair now, I put on a wig.

My hair was below bra strap length last September now it’s barely to my arm pits. I got knotless braids for the first time and they were too heavy for my fine hair. Broke my hair off. I’ve cut it and have started growing it back out. First and last time ever getting braids. Should have just stuck with my two strand twists with my own natural hair.

Beautiful done, great job as you always do. My hair is almost as long as hers natural and it tangles easily, so I do my wash in the shower so I can hold my head back. I’m in my 60’s. My hair is 18 inches long. I try to trim my own ends because I do notice the ends and decided not to always use to much heat on my hair. I can not stand curls in my hair....lol. This lady used to do my hair and I would wait until I got home to try and comb them out because they were done so tight....lol. But your work is really beautiful and I enjoy watching your videos.

I don’t use a leave-in before flat ironing my hair. I use heat protectant only. My favorite is “Tresemmé Expert Selection Heat Protectant Spray” or the “Tresemmé Heat Tamer” spray. I don’t use any products: serums, oil sheen sprays, wax sticks, or edge control after flat ironing. I immediately wrap my hair which seals in shine and moisture and lays my edges and fly-aways (of which I have virtually none because of my stringent haircare regimen). My daughter trims my hair the next day. Every five or so days after flat ironing I apply a few drops of oil serum to my ends after emulsifying it in my hands. I currently use “It’s a 10 Miracle Styling Serum”. My silk presses last about three to four weeks, but I almost always go no longer than three weeks before shampooing.

My daughter was 10 years old with the exact same hair and exact same length. It was twice as thick as her client. It took me 6 hrs to do it. When she stayed with my family in the summer, I had to beg people to do her hair. They knew her by the hair and they never did it again

I'm writing to you from France, and in Europe the interest in kinky hair is very recent for brands but also for black girls themselves. Before, they all relaxed their hair or wore wigs, I did the same. Nowadays, they assert and assume more and more their identity. However, there is not enough knowledge of kinky hair from professionals and when I watch your videos I tell to myself, what a pity that your hair salon is not nearby... I stopped relaxing my hair 5 years ago, because it was extremely damaged and broken. It took me a long time to get my hair back, but it doesn't grow much and is dry. Most young girls grow up n cut all that hair off. If they ever had it this long. Beautiful sneak to stop comparing every head of hair the same. We all have different hair scouts. The way. We take care of it and if we come to a certified beautian should know what they're are doing and telling you what to do with your scalp and hair.

I use *lots* of (coconut) oil, conditioner, and WATER to finger detangle my hip-length natural hair. My curl pattern is very similar to this young lady’s, but I have far greater density.

I only flat iron my hair only twice a year. So I don't like bone straight hair. What temperature would you recommend putting the flat iron on so that my hair will not come out bone straight?

Every time my hair gets this long i put it in a rubber band and chop it to my shoulders. Once i start straightening it again i might let it grow back out.
