There's a difference between fourth wall breaking and reality manipulation. She-Hulk does reality manipulation. In the Deadpool movies, his fourth wall breaking does not effect the world around him, he simply addresses the audience and says things to characters that only the audience would understand. To the characters around him, he's talking to himself like a crazy person. She-Hulk straight up rewrites reality to suit what she wants. There is no explanation for how the hell she has this insanely powerful ability.
If they make a season 2, then there's no conflict or danger. Jen would just break thru the 4th wall and just meta the problem away. Where's the fun in that?
I agree that She-Hulks version of the 4th wall break is dumb and the show itself is one of the worst things ever created in the history of media. However, I actually think the DP movies could’ve used his 4th wall breaks even better. Imagine if during a fight he reaches into the camera, grabs the camera, and hits a bad guy with it. I feel like stuff like that would’ve been really unique, because in the comics (I’m not a comics guy but from what I’ve heard) he actually does use his “awareness” to give himself an edge at times. The DP movies are still very fun and whenever they make meta jokes about the budget it’s pretty funny, but I still think they could’ve done more.
The writers' attempt to demonize critics by simply placing their critiques into the mouths of the show's antagonists (without actually countering their arguments) is quite revealing about their outlook in life. Instead of proving your critics wrong, just default to an ad hominem attack.
That aside, it's a really short-sighted way to write a show. Give it a few years and those parts will have aged like fine milk. Give it 50 and nobody will know wtf they are about without searching the internet to find out it's a reaction to some bad reviews on the internet.
Are you surprised? That's the standard tactic for twitter idiots. Someone will post a reasonable critique, and they'll retort with "Well you're just an *iist/*phobe!" That's all they know how to do, because critical thinking is something that they haven't been taught.
For the argument of "It's just a sitcom!" I'd respond with; Futurama was just a sitcom, and yet _The_ dog episode still brings people to tears, sometimes by the mere mention of its existence.
That argument holds the same water as the "it's a kids show" argument when criticizing cartoons. Just because it's a kids show doesn't make it immune to criticism. Great example of this is the Super Hero Squad Show made by Marvel. You can clearly tell its aimed at kids yet still managed to have a component and even entertaining plot line, and also still managed to respect its comic source material. Unlike Teen Titans Go made by DC who expects their audience to have underdeveloped brain cells.
. For that matter you could throw in the one where fry keeps getting sent further in time and writes a note for her and she sees it later in her future
Moral of the show: Don't like your circumstances in life? Instead of working hard to persevere through adversity, simply whine and complain about how unfair life can be until you're magically given what you want.
It's actually pretty dark, if you think about it. Because Jen is clearly a self insert in this fan fiction. So you have this writing room dominated by bitter middle aged woman with failing careers, living out their fantasies through the show. This tells us they think they actually deserve to be worshiped without putting any effort in and whining and complaining is the only thing they know to better their situation. Only that it wont work irl for them as this hate letter of a show does.
I find it so interesting because I know the writers believe women have to work harder to get validation in our civilization and yet here they are peddling the idea that Jen should simply ignore her responsibility in favor of a quick fix.
As soon as I heard they made the show "bad on purpose" my reaction was kind of "wtf is wrong with you?!?! Do you not realize that that's actually worse than making a bad show on accident?!?!"
These women are quite literally failing upwards - they have no rock bottom because the establishment keeps going out of their way to continuously lower the bar for them.
Reminder that Jennifer never apologized to Bruce for insulting him and his experiences as an abuse survivor, a superhero and a Hulk, and quite literally broke reality to avoid accountability for her actions, and rewrote people's memories to that end. We are at the point where Kingdom Hearts - _another_ Disney property - dealt with the moral quandaries of altering people's memories and personality more than a billion dollar multi-movie/show franchise. She-Hulk is officially the most despicable characters in the MCU. At least Wanda's despicable actions were _acknowledged._
nah it doesn't matter because it's a comedy and comedies doesn't need to have quality just be funny. it's sarcasm btw this show it's as funny watching paint dry
@Margarine Snatcher Leaving aside the quality of Kingdom Hearts writting, which yeah that shit can be awful at times, it's true that when in KH3 the MC did what basically She-Hulk did here, AKA rewritte the timeline to make everyone happy, the boy got fucking yeeted out of existence, and the said rewritting was to save his loved ones, unlike the green turd of a person She-Hulk is, so at least we can acknowledge that the OP was right in this regard.
I can't get over the fact that the same writers who decided to make the main villain of the season be stand-ins for online "haters" criticizing the show also decided to end the season by having the main character break the fourth wall to...criticize the show (and the entirety of the MCU). I guess when Jen is the critic it's okay, but when someone online does it then they're an incel nahtzee?
I mean, Kevin was for all intents and purposes the God of her world. This goes beyond manager, she skipped that and got an audience with the great almighty, and not just that, she dictated how she wants her world to be TO HIM and he just fucking did it. She is a fucking ultra-Karen.
Jen spends far more time trying to find and take down the trolls who embarrassed her than she ever did actually being a super hero. In fact, she NEVER does anything for anyone besides herself. Shows the personality of the writer.
They still could have written her as a selfish character competently. She wouldn't have been a good superhero, but she wasn't that anyway. The writers were just atrociously incompetent. Hell, they even rewarded their own incompetence with screen time. They made themselves the story. So help me, God - none of those writers should *ever* work again in that industry. But they will.
He did in 2008. Before ipads, tik tok vine and the forced diversity garbage. No 4K TVs and streaming market, all of us needed to go to theaters for the newest release Favreau's effort came out with less technology advances and no streaming market for us to choose for an instant rental. We're now in 2022 and now phase 4 is done with less effort despite the bigger consumer market and newer technology
I hate how now Shulk will be remembered as a mocking abreviation for She-Hulk instead of the name of my sweet baby boy from Xenoblade Chronicles xd Thanks She-Hulk
Can we take a moment to acknowledge how Jen abused her 4th wall breaking power to strip Murdock of his agency and force him into a situation where he would sleep with her, which not only spits in the face of the entire purpose of the MeToo movement's efforts to stand up to people in positions of power using that power for their own sexual gratification, but also completely disregards Jen's opening monologue about the responsibility of power. Let that sink in. Jen's opening monologue questions if you have an obligation to refrain from the misuse of that power or a duty to protect those without it.... And in the end, what does she do? She uses it to bang Murdock some more.
If I had a nickel for every time a ‘superhero’ used magical bullshit to remove a man’s ability to consent in order to sleep with her, I’d have two nickels. Not a lot, but weird to have happened twice in recent years
MeeToo isn't about people in positions of power abusing their power. It's about MEN in positions of power abusing their power over WOMEN. It's certainly not about equal treatment or equal punishment. In the same way that campaigners against sexual assault never talk about sexual abuse of men or sexual abuse by women. It's always male perpetrators, female victims.
Ive long gotten used to it that female protagonists saying stuff about moral integrity is just words, because the second they act they do the exact opposite, but its okay because its a woman doing it and not some evil male oppressor figure.
You know what sickens me? The people who ran this show (into the ground) are the ones that 15+ years ago made fun of those that were into comics and other nerdy stuff, and now they wanted a piece of that pie only once it became popular and mainstream. But they still keep the same uppity, clique-y bully attitude they had back then, except now they like to gaslight and play the victim role as well for sympathy points.
It’s hilarious that the writers, just like Jen in the show, are going to have to move back in with their parents after this dumpster fire! It’s also funny how Jen talks about how she has it sooo much worse than Bruce because men tell her she is pretty and men tell her how to do her job….when the entire season she goes around desperate for attention from Men and does so poorly at her job she obviously needs someone how to do her job. 0 self awareness by the writers. It’s honestly impressive how a group of people can be so oblivious.
The four-step easy recipe for success from the creators of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. 1. Shit on the stage. 2. People start booing and yelling it's shit. 3. Revel a picture prepared in advance - showing pathetic ugly people booing and yelling "shit". 4. Congratulations - you created a masterpiece, totally predicted viewers' reaction and "trolled" the "trolls".
@@StripedAssedApe Step 5 is to repeat the previous steps and double down until the money runs out, or the heat death of the universe, whichever comes first.
Sigh. Simon Pegg comparing She Hulk to Blazing Saddles is like comparing a pile of dogshit to an 84 carat diamond. And this is real! It's not a joke, it actually happened. Maybe Dr Strange really did break the multiverse. Anyway, keep up the good work Chord.
Of course Todd was the villain. Jen hated Todd from the start because of his creepy "She-Hulk fetish". It's funny because the guy who actually had a She-hulk fetish... which he kinda admitted in court, never gets that treatment. Yeah that guy, the attractive, muscular, successful doctor who wanted to have sex with She-hulk but dumped Jen on sight as soon as her body changed. I want to think that Jen didn't get mad at him because she noticed she is also shallow. In the same episode she said something like "Looks shouldn't matter... but they do" (paraphrasing here, I'm not going to rewatch it for a verbatim quote).
I believe this is the channel’s one-year anniversary video. Thanks all for joining, and here’s to an equally insane Year Two. (The end of this video is a bit abrupt as I lost my voice for a week and had to slash the script, so apologies for that!)
One thing that struck me - many companies have bought into the Diversity and Inclusion thing as they're being sold that it will give diversity of thought which is a good thing for a business to have. And yet, looking at the intersectionally-diverse writer's room in She-Hulk, there wasn't a single divergent thought amongst them.
@@frankowalker4662 It was good fun - which more or less confirms I was not the one getting married! Funnily enough, some complete stranger came up and said, “you sound really familiar, have you been on EFAP?”
I was flabbergasted that they had a 7 ft tall woman as a stand-in for Maslany. If they had just painted that lady green and spent the visual effects budget elsewhere, I may have tuned in! Especially if they'd have made it a homage to the 70s hulk, as you suggest (I had the same thought the other day). Great work as always.
A 40-year old lawyer, likely working her career for about 15 years, has to move back with her parents??? She's had an attorney's salary for a decade and a half and has absolutely zero savings?
@@ajsouza3720 Not when that money is made by themselves they aren't. The more wealthy women all know that as they grow older, many public jobs becomes harder to keep/pay less. So they do their best to create a nest egg, so that once the bad times come, they can keep some level of the lifestyle they have gotten used to.
Well, she could have a heap of student loans. But yeah, you make a good point. I don't have that kind of salary and I always keep savings and an emergency fund.
At her age, her student loans wouldn't put her back with her parents in one week. It's just really bad writing. No concept of real world economics. Instead of having her be an incompetent money manager, it would have been more realistic that her parents have a financial crisis of their own and have to move in with her. At this point in her career, she'd already be a homeowner, not a renter. This would have given us a chance to see her in the positive light that even though she's just lost her job, she still takes in her parents, thus juggling two crises at once. Instead, she's just a straight-up nitwit.
Don't forget at the beginning of the show its established that Jen was working in the DA office meaning she was a public servant. Which doesn't make any sense because as Jen is depicted in this show why would she work for the DA? People who end up working in public service such as the DA's office usually do so because, they care about the work or they have political aspersions. Jen doesn't seem to have either of these motivations she just seems to want to make money, so again I have to ask why the hell was she working for the DA?
I have absolutely zero interest in watching this monstrosity of a show, yet for some reason I can't get enough of you criticizing it. You are specific in your critiques, but you make them funny too. It ends up being great entertainment. I loved the series; good job.
I mean, technically the _writers_ of that show had it coming. The character still exists in the comics. Making the _She-Hulk_ shows' Jennifer Walters the deifnite MCU or even Marvel version of She-Hulk would be like declaring the pseudo-Deadpool from X-Men Origins: Wolverine the official Deadpool, or the cringy Joker from hte first Suicide Squad movie, or the 1966 Adam West Batman the only Batman to exist.
If I were in the writers' shoes this is how I would write she hulk: -first we see her at her every day job, she wins a case showing her intelligence and then she hangs with her friends. It's important to see how her life was before she turned into she hulk. -She visits Bruce occasionally after he snapped and brought everyone back and helps him recover. While at his house the guy who he put into jail in the first scene escapes and goes after her with a gang. She gets injured and Bruce has to save her somehow. We could have Bruce be a human similar to the show and Jenn saving Bruce but Injuring herself badly in the process. The thugs thinking they got away with it leave. They will later become the wrecking crew. Bruce tries to save Jenn but she dies. Her soul leaves her body and she sees a camera and the audience. That's why she breaks the 4th wall. Bruce as a last attempt gives her his blood. Nothing happens and she tries to bring more medicine tools to save her. When he returns back Jenn is missing. - for the first 2 episodes we see Jenn trying to understand what's happening. She even gets out of control and has to learn how to control the hulk. She even kills someone. She regrets it of course but that's why tatania goes after her. She hunts she hulk down for money as a mercenary. We could have multiple comic characters do the same here as well. Bruce finds her and helps her control the hulk. She understands how it is and improves herself. Slowly she gets back to her everyday life. -at first she hates the hulk persona but slowly she imbraces it. The guys at the start of the show learn about she hulk and that Jenn is alive and decide to finish the job. We could introduce daredevil here somewhere too. Like Jenn sees superheros get sued and after getting the people to like her with her she hulk persona helps the heroes out. We could have more episodes with she hulk and daredevil teaming up. - the end would feature a big reveal that someone was sending those mercenaries to kill she hulk. Maybe setting up a future super hero killer? Something like a punisher but for super heros. The whole show would be about embracing change and self improvement. Jenn isn't perfect and she will never become. But she can be a little better tommorow. That would be a great message for people who start their lives on a new city , or that have experienced something terrible similar to she hulk. What do you think of my idea?
I love how Simon made it distinctly and unquestioningly obvious he was reading a script. "Da bomb. And I would like to marry her. In an alternate dimension." Seriously, he deserves every penny he got out of that for such self-depreciating garbage.
He really does look like those "confession" videos terrorist cells often release of their kidnapped victims "recanting and denouncing their sins" at the end of torture and before execution. It's genuinely a touch disturbing.
On the other hand maybe he is just straight up wanting to bang Tatiana and simping hard for it. Feige probably told Simon he'd put a good word in if he did it 😂 Man just trying anything to get a pash 😆
You're correct in assuming I am not watching this show, and I am only watching your reviews of it. Thank you for putting yourself through all of this so that I and many others didn't have to.
Titania broke into a courtroom and nearly killed the jury, got off scot free. She-Hulk smashes a tv and grabs one guy by the collar, gets arrested and put on parole by the grace of god.
This episode confirms that they don't "break the 4th wall" in She-Hulk. Because there really is no 4th wall. When a meta-action directs the in-show action it proves that the meta is a part of the in-show. Just another instance of the writers not knowing and/or giving a damn about the actual character. You're absolutely correct. I haven't watched a minute of this crap. But I'm infinitely thankful that you and other heroes like you have. And I'm proud to give you all my thumbs-up, comments and time rather than the morons who wrote the show.
From a kind but meek comic character that found confidence in her sexy, strong alter-ego, and used that confidence to fight criminals in two ways, to a author insert who finds the “strength” to still be pathetic, but try her best to out men in their place, and complain a lot.
As a Jennifer... we had a meeting and this shade of Jennifer Walters is no longer a part of the guild. We do not claim her as one of our own. (The real Shulkie is still welcome.)
@@TheLittlePlatoon your voice can be so soothing and relaxing. I listen to your long videos while cleaning n it blends perfectly So how they hell does one become so good a critic ? I don't have to be gay, right?
Seeing Simon Pegg becoming a typical Hollywood sell-out for some years now, is one of the saddest things ever. I really used to love this guy's work and looked forward to every movie/series he was in. Greetings from Germany :)
Let's keep in mind that Jen is angry at Blonsky for doing the exact same thing she does maybe 5 minutes later. They both disobeyed the conditions of their release to transform, yet Blonsky is the only one to get sent back to prison while Jen gets let off scott free.
But don't forget that, in the end, it all doesn't fucking matter because Blonsky just fucks off with Wong. Wong, who, apparently now just hangs out on the internet and runs illegal fight rings while he's supposed to be the Sorcerer Supreme. Maybe that whole Multiverse of Madness thing doesn't happen if Wong was doing his job. 🤣
Dang, the ripping into Jen's friends/proposing a more self-aware development of the story when Jen realizes they'll also drop her when she's fallen on hard times... some of the best arguments I've heard against this show just wasting every opportunity it was given... or rather, that it made for itself and still butchered.
I love the fact that they wasted millions and millions of dollars making this show and yet the RU-vidrs are the ones making all the money off of it. I love it and I love the fact that they can't do anything about it except for cope and seeth.
@@darwinnn102 The way they've kept desperately attacking people even after the show concluded and the complete lack of viewership numbers makes it very doubtful the show was a financial success. I'd be surprised if they broke even with this one. If they want to keep marching towards failure will be here to laugh at them along the way.
@@snoozley853 Diminishing returns and a cascading effect that negatively impacts future projects is not good for business plain and simple. Drumming up a reaction from people in an attempted to make a crappy product relevant is becoming less and less of a viable strategy. A metric s*** ton of other shows trying the exact same strategy are all being canceled. Disney just has more money and it'll take longer before they get tired of having movies and shows underperforming along with lower merchandise sales. Even the most mindless Marvel stands I know aren't watching She-Hulk because they thought it looked awful from the trailers alone. If you feel differently please enlighten me with your mighty wisdom. Meanwhile I'm going to continue not watching these shows and occasionally laughing with the RU-vidrs covering it.
Titania is an adversary to She-Hulik. She spends years if not decades being that. In most comics where we see this char she is dispatched with a single punch. Upon the completion of this she is seen to be propelled by the force of the punch into the distance. This was played out so many times. But that of course is the comic She-Hulk.
don't feel bad. He probably got paid $150,000 to say it and then immediately washed his mouth out with toothpaste, took a cold shower, and cried himself to sleep. (Actually it was more probably he knew a fellow director who was friends with her and she'd pay Simon to say it, and he was like "yeah sure I never saw the show I don't give a fuck so fuck it, sure)
Any time we see SheHulk in any MCU show or movie I expect her to break out of the screen and save the day by complaining to the manager so she can win. That is the current MCU. If there is a universal threat She Hulk can break the fourth wall at any time.
I too would like a word with the manager. Hello Mr. K.E.V.I.N. I would like a refund please. Give me back my Tony and Natasha, you can take Jessica Gao's She-Hulk please. Thank you!
It really is a pleasure to go back and watch these old reviews on this channel, even if I've already seen many reviews from other channels. This is far better entertainment. Thanks for the effort TLP.
In addition to the list of stressful things Bruce has had to deal with to compare with Jen being catcalled, Bruce attempted suicide because he was so traumatised from hurting other people and didn't know how else to make it stop. The Hulk spat out the bullet.
Jen's dad is played by Mark Lynn Baker, who was Cousin Larry in "Perfect Strangers" back in the 80s. In other words, a comedic actor who understands the concept of a well-crafted sitcom with engaging characters who also happen to be really funny. No wonder he's the ONLY CHARACTER in this dung heap who is remotely likable.
The best thing about this show is that it led me to your channel. And for that I am eternally grateful. And it also made me go rewatch the 90s Cartoon where She-Hulk was the best part of the show. Ahhh those were the days.
This show actually made me into a She Hulk Comic and Cartoon fan😂, ONLY good thing they did😭. Gonna read the original Savage and John Bryne version and maybe her modern one
"We made a badly written show with storylines that make no sense and have no stakes, but we are now acknowledging that, so therefore, our show is REDEEMED and GREAT. Please laugh and/or applaud."
You sir single-handedly solved and cracked the codes on why Attorney at Law out right sucks and why the finale is so much worse than we remember while also giving us a delightful, entertaining and I suppose an educational review, especially on the MCU at large.👌 By *God* do I miss my childhood!😩
The way you eviscerate this farce of a show with such wit, such panache, I cant get from my straight critics like nerdronic, critical drinker, even itsagundam! You sir are a gem and you have had this subscribe long overdue. May you continue thumbing your nose at these literal hacks.
You missed the fact that they also put an inhibitor on her which she could go back to jail if she found a way to go back to being She Hulk. Then at the end she’s just She Hulk again without any penalty or explanation.
Oh wow imagine if this whole show was in the style of that intro, that actually would’ve been the freshest thing marvels done in ages. That’s why I enjoyed werewolf by night. Honestly hope marvel learns that they need to start being creative again
How weird is it that their example of an an incel is someone who sleeps with the main character, I don’t think the writers actually know what an incel is and they’re writing about them lmao
I just want to take a moment to say that no troll group consisting of more than a few friends would ever meet in person. They would likely go as far as to use a text only communication system with no need to give any personally identifiable or message persistence like a custom irc server.
Marvel was my light of day in my darkest life period. At that time back in the day I was going through some seriously tough shit let's say... The movies and rewatching them, the first three phases, over and over again has helped me so much in my struggle. Glad now the dark times are over but after seeing the newest movies and shows I am so terribly disappointed. And to be honest... She-hulk killed it for me. A franchise that meant so much to me throughout my life... Seeing the final episode of She-hulk made me downright cry. It... it is just so horrible. Thinking of how much all of the things in that show will change MCU to an absolute tragedy (as if it wasn't one since Endgame) it just gets me emotional writting this. For the past three films and four shows being filled with hope that "the next film" or "the next episode" will turn it all around... and it was not to come. I am out of words... so disappointed in Marvel... I... I am only happy that Stan Lee never got to see this. Let's say that the show's ending... the show in general... the whole phase four, so far, made me wanted to start drinking again...
Started watching you maybe 2 weeks ago, initially for rings of power. Now I can't stop watching you, actually a good eulogy for these trainwrecks. You give good and bad of everything, while explaining with other examples and not just your opinion
.Just imagine your favourite restaurant and you’ve just ordered your favourite dish. All of a sudden ,the manager and all the staff start ‘trolling you’.On purpose.Same here ,but on much, much higher level.
The implication of having a character that could literally *rewrite reality* how they see fit is quite powerful. I hope there won't be any ramifications in the future.
The worst is: if they wanted to make it a series about 4th wall breaks, why not just scrap literally half the run time and go right to this ending in the middle of the series? Then she realizes that the changes she made also changed the past and it created "plot holes" and now the robot would actually be a villain who willingly did everything she asked for just to fuck her up, then add some random entity from the marvel comics to pretend you actually care about the comics. This way atleast it would be possible to be different and good.
I like that the first episode with Wong, Wong is like "Yeah, I portal into Abomination's cell from time to time and conscript him to fight me, and for me. I'm sorry." He's then told, essentially "You CAN'T do that. You are making him a criminal through YOUR actions. Stop." and he goes "Ah yeah, ok, you're right, sorry." and it's played for genuineness. Like, Wong is GENUINELY capitulating... And now he's like "Hey A-bomb, let's go buddy!" in the end, like it never happened.
The funny thing is, I could genuinely see how Wong and Abomination somehow winding up as unlikely friends could actually be a really interesting and amusing concept. Were it executed properly with a bit of skill, the studious and dutiful Wong somehow, through circumstances and naturally grown respect, growing to consider the brutish and lackadaisical Abomination a real friend could be very interesting. That dynamic _could_ work, it's just that they did fucking nothing to actually set up or execute such a thing.
Your synopsis of the plot made the show sound so much more profound and thoughtful than it really came to be. Quite impressive! Also, it's quite adorable how you mention getting to know other creators that you used to just follow.
All the stuff you laid out about what is happening in her life would've actually made me sympathetic towards her if the writers didn't make her angry about stuff that is very bare outside what she is REALLY going through
Good dramatic actor too. In a Law and order criminal intent episode titled Probability, He played a killer who had Asperger’s and didn’t know it. Good chops for a guy known mostly for perfect strangers
The sad thing is... "Intelligencia" in the comics was a supervillian team of pretty much all the "mad scientist" bad guys in marvel comics who werent part the rogues gallery for the Fantastic 4 or Spiderman... To see that team reduced to "its just a bunch of internet trolls" is extremely disappointing.
I think it would've been better if Intelligencia was a criminal gang who wanted She Hulk's blood as a way to create a drug that would've been used to illegally win sports under the guise of a medical drug.
So the writers were self-aware enough to know they'd be booed, and decided to double down on what then turned out to be a correct surmise? Foresight is lost on these people.
My favourite part of the finale was when She Hulk broke through the 4th wall into Middle Earth, scissored with Galadriel, and revealed that Sauron was Agatha all along. Some of the most show of all time.
Old school She Hulk would have been CrAzy! I would've loved that forever. Like the first few seasons of Community., or the Office, or even Iron Man 1, or The First Avenger. Timeless. Guys, just imagine how much fun they're having over there in the universe where WandaVision stayed good throughout, and Disney Plus is actually even better than Netflix Marvel. My heart breaks when I hear alternate and more faithful versions of what the MCU could have been by now. RIP.
In the comics, when hulk came back from sakaar, he was kinda smart, beat the shit out of 70-80% of the heroes on earth with only like 5 other people, and turned into worldbreaker hulk because he was so mad over being shot into space and then losing his new wife and a million citizens of his new planet
I remember 15 years ago one of my college girlfriends best friend said that she doesn't understand how people can be late or not pay their rent sometimes. After all, all you have to do is write a check and mail it a week before it's due. Zero understanding of the real world. She couldn't comprehend that not everyone has a magic bank account filled by their parents so they can focus on important things. Things like smoking weed, wearing hippieesque clothes more expensive than a suit and attending all the correct social justice meetings on campus. The she hulk writers must have grown up under the exact same circumstances. In fact maybe that girl is a she hulk writer.
20:25-21:08 You hit the nail on the head. Shows like 3rd Rock From The Sun, Night Court, and Perfect Strangers can be incredibly funng, deep, clever, and heartfelt, while still being sitcoms. And to see these idiots be like "lol, it's a sitcom, why don’t you get that?!" makes me want to punch them in the face. Thank you so much for articulating my thoughts on this idiotic "defense".
Has anyone seen cosmonauts review? I nearly shit myself. And I’m a black woman not a “white male nerd” who he claims are unjustly slamming the show. Side note: have y’all seen other stuff Tatiana is in? She’s actually a great actress which I learned today.
Fresh Prince was a sitcom and it slapped. Full House was a sitcom and it slapped. Boys Meet World was a sitcom and it slapped. The list goes on and they all have progressing stories up to their final episodes.
The ending quite literally destroy's anything that happens in the MCU. Like, why didn't Doctor Strange just complain to the writers that the odds that out of 14 million different realities only 1 the avengers win is absolutely statistically impossible. So Kevin Feige agrees and just has Thanos die cause he slipped on a banana and fell down the stairs. This is entirely possible with what She-Hulk wrote. Insane. This is the sort of stuff that can only happen in experimental, self contained shows. Not in an overarching universe!
great video! I think that at some places you've given the writing credit where it doesn't deserve any. In my opinion, the show wasn't being self aware during the " I am not running from my, problems, it's just a mental health break" scene. It is in fact trying to justify this excuse used by Karens to take undeserved breaks from work. Therefore probably, the resulting "Abomination" of the writing...
Simon Pegg drank the Hollywood cool aid! No one who has a shred of dignity would say She Hulk was good. Someone at Marvel watched this show and approved it .... who cares about quality its more content for Disney+!
Hulk getting 1 movie and no shows and just showing up with a child is such an indication of how much Marvel fucking does not give a shit about the Hulk who was basically their biggest superhero before the MCU launched. Insane
