From about 1977 to 1987 were some of the greatest, jazzy, mellow lite-rock songs of all time. Gino Vanneli. Anita Baker, Michael McDonald, Luther Vandross, Quincy Jones, Peabo Bryson. Unbelievable number of great songs and singers in that genre.

@@TheDivayenta Indeed, you are right! I wasn't sure whether Vanelli quite fell into that category - but he does come close, doesn't he? You can definitely see the commonalities. Gino Vannelli turned down an offer to appear in Playgirl magazine. He said something to the effect of, "once you've posed naked, people don't want to touch you with a ten-foot pole."

I have been doing a deep revisiting of 70’s music trying to find a specific song and wow, I knew it was great, I lived it, after all, graduated HS in 1976, but wow. Hearing one banger after another in pop, rock, soul, alternative, you name it, it’s really mind boggling how good these groups were, no two alike. I always thought I couldn’t choose which decade was better - 60’s, 70’s or 80’s, but now I think that the 70’s tops them all. That leaves out my favorite group ever, that influenced all the 70’s, The Beatles, but luckily I can still listen to them and say the 70’s had the most creative, diverse and amazing songs ever.

In the early eighties I was working at a restaurant in Tucson Arizona. This song was on the in-house music rotation, and I heard it every day. Great song.

I get the fangirling of Andy Gibb. I was fortunate to see Andy in 1978 as a twelve year old at the Illinois State Fair. Great song here by Gino. I haven't heard this song in decades. My 70s childhood had the best soundtrack, and it continued in the 80s.

Brother to Brother is one of Gino's best songs and definitely worth reacting to. Another side of Gino that should be heard. Also features one of the best bands of the 70's. Mark Craney on drums and Carlos Rios on guitar are particularly noteworthy.

My opinion ! Of all of his albums . I think his Brother to Brother album was his Masterpiece album. It was relevant when it was released still is right now and the future generations to come with the song Brother to Brother.

Wait a minute. Are you seriously listening to Gino Vanelli sing this song, after I've nagged about it for years? 😮 😁 👍🏽 My mom loved this song, she passed away 21 years ago this March, and her birthday was on July 21st. It's like a belated birthday greeting for her. ❤ More by Gino.... "People Gotta Move" "Brother to Brother" "Give Me Back My Life" "The River Must Flow" Amber, I agree about Andy Gibb! Ooh, my goodness! 😄 When I hear his song "Shadow Dancing", he's singing to me while we dance together. 😄
