There's alot of couples out there who aren't related and look alike. I don't think narcissism has anything to do with that. So over people just throwing that word around 🙄
It doesn’t just matter if they ended up both being carriers if fatal disease. Two unrelated people can both be carriers of a disease but they won’t have the birth defects that occur when their isn’t enough DNA difference in the genetics between mom and dad. It’s a good idea to get screened for what you carry but those tests are completely different than incest based deformities.
I've known my husband my whole life we lived close together and went to the same school and places. These cousins are so nasty I just can't with these people.
I just looked up their RU-vid channel and found out that Michael died July3, 2021. after having a seizure at work. They did end up having a baby boy together . Now she’s a single mother with a toddler to raise alone. Their story is very sad and unsettling in so many ways .
I agree. I thought it was illegal in every state in the US, but I was wrong. At least it's illegal to marry your sibling in the US... In Sweden it's legal to marry your half sibling. YUCK!!!
Cathy is realistic. Yes maybe their kids will be "normal", but their kids could have it. If they want kids at all than they should adopt. And also this kind of exposing is not okay at all. Cathy is right with everything.
No, in this case for the generic diseases they were tasted she proved to be the only one who is the carrier of cystic fibrosis allele (the inheritance is autosomal recessive), he is not a carrier because his results were negative for all the 274 generic diseases in the test. Her child can become a carrier if inherits this allele from her independently who is the father as long as the father is not a carrier too or actually suffers it. But they are more genetic diseases that are extremely rare and are not included in the basic tests I guess they didn't feel the need because there are no cases in the family, yet they should have tested for absolutely everything because the are related. And may I add that this test doesn't include disorders that are more epigenetic than genetic. I am supporting this because they proved that their child will not suffer a genetic disease? Nope, this kid will be reminded till the end of his days that his parents are cousins and will have to live with the stigma of being a product of incest.
I don't know how these people can even feel sexual attraction to family members. My first cousin is attractive and an amazing person, but even if I wanted to, I doubt I would be able to feel anything sexual towards him. How is that even possible?
It isn't an STI test that they had. It's genetic testing/counseling for potential birth defects and the like. It's not a bad idea for any couple looking to conceive. That being said, ewwww. This is so messy.
There’s nothing wrong with people having bi polar. I have bi polar, it’s something you can live with and take medication for. Idk how bi polar is anywhere near the same as cystic fibrosis? Lol
@@katiemckay-pd4il because some people, like my brother in law was severely bipolar. Nearly killing himself multiple times. Not everyone takes meds and it fixes the problem.
So disgusting 🤢. If they even have a sliver of love for a potential child then they won’t have any children. Think about the ridicule and the stigma (which is absolutely warranted) that this child/children will go through. These people are selfish and gross. Billions of people in the world and they chose each other…… 🤢…….. 🤮
I know years ago when they went on Dr. Phil, after that she did get pregnant and thank GOD the baby came out normal. He died of cancer just when the baby was born.
My cousin married her half brother 🤢🤮 they have kids together (dads side of the family) it’s disgusting they just accept it…it’s gross. I blocked the whole side of the family.
I'm sorry Layze, because we like your views on Alabama mondays... The way you act things out is just way too funny. I watched you one time and am addicted to your videos.
Yes it’s fucked up but the sad part is they aren’t together anymore. They had a kid and then he died. I don’t know exactly why but before he died he was arrested for drug charges after relapsing. What’s crazier is she has kids from another marriage and they had to endure this. Their grandpa was Japanese and because of this their child is genetically more Japanese than both of them and their child looks so much more Asian than them. Which is just kinda interesting
I had a friend in school who's parents were first cousins. She got bullied to hell in school. Then again, there's a lot of cultures where its normal and common to marry first cousins.
omg. ok i've seen these creeps before. but honestly, lol, of all the reactions i've seen yours is the most animated and i appreciate that immensely! makes the wife/cousin eating/kissing more bearable lol
this is why i love layze not only do we get his raw unfiltered reaction but we also get his hilarious skits that are always on point 😂😂 he’s the best i feel bad not everyone has seen his videos yet!
Funny thing though, it’s illegal in Alabama to marry your siblings and your cousins. It is legal however in California, New York, and a lot of other states you wouldn’t think. Only 2 southern states allow cousin marriage, none allow sibling. Should change this to California or New York Mondays.
I'm late to the party here but this channel is getting me through a really hard time rn. I have been watching everyday as stress relief n prob seem like a nutcase bc I'm prob in every comment section on every video I've watched lol but it's literally my therapy atm! Hope everyone having a rough time find some light at the end of the tunnel. U aren't alone. Big hugs❤🤗
So first cousins got married, flaunted their relationship on social media, had a kid despite the chance of birth defects. Then the husband tragically died. This is some V.C. Andrews (Flowers in the Attic) shit 👀
LMAO, You just reminded me of my fav movies. The flower in the attics franchise always had me in a chokehold. I remember always being disgusted then wanted to watched the next movie to know how is it going to end lol.
actually, birth defect rates for first cousin marriages are literally the same as a non related couple, 3-6%, me and my first cousin went to a genetic specialist before trying to concieve, and as a result its been 25 years of happy marriage and 11 kids total
I didn’t realise it was illegal in some states. It’s legal for first cousins to marry each other in England. I’m a midwife and we have to ask about consanguinity at the booking appointments. I’ve actually booked many couples where they ate first cousins but every one of them was Asian. It’s much more unusual for us to come across white or black cousins who are married. The tests they had wasn’t STI - it was testing for genetic disorders as if they both tested positive for the same things it would mean a high chance of passing it on to children. The chances are doubled because inside families the risk of being a carrier of the same disorder is higher. That’s why they were tested and found that they don’t both have a genetic defect to pass on. That means they’re actually at lower risk of having a baby with a genetic condition now than a normal couple as most of us aren’t tested before we have kids and that means we don’t know if we are carriers of something. I’m not saying I agree with or understand it - I could never be with my cousin, but they actually are at lower risk than other couples.
OMG americans.....there are places on earth where people farm, have no running water or electricity or car. Portugal, SPain, Greece, Italy, Balkans...even Ireland. Tiny villages and remote. People who never see a big city and work extremely hard. My dear aunt and uncle were 1st cousins. SO WHAT? I would not promote it, but stop it. You are NASTY. They never bothered you, have 6 healthy children and 15 healthy grandchildren. STFU
It’s not bad enough that they’re first cousins who want to be involved, but to get so graphically into each other on camera?! Have you no shame?! That’s just so foul! I literally gagged…
I live in Sweden and it`s actually legal here to marry your first cousin.🙄You can also marry your half sibling but you have to seek permission at the county board! That is just sick! 🤢
My husband has family that live in a small town. And 2 of his cousins actually did get married and had kids. Worst part, in my opinion? After they divorced they still saw each other ar family events.may no longer be spouses but can't stop being cousins!
My cousins are married but they are not related. They also started dating before my grandma met my step grandfather and a year or so after my grandparents got together they got married and where heavily shamed because they where cousins by law. I honestly love their relationship and don’t care because they are not blood related and loved each other before everything started.
I’m not a dr but the test they each had done is just to tell if you carry any pre conditions that could be passed down to your children if you have any. It has nothing to do with if you have kids with your cousin.
I absolutely love what the other cousin said. Like she doesn't give a shit about what they do but just don't make it a big thing and don't bring the other family members into it!
Holy crap!! I just found one that the husband died shortly after they had their baby bc I was trying to look up and see what they were up to now in 2022. Makes me wonder if any of the stress maybe helped cause his early death, but idk...
@@TunTheOfficial it was the cousin husband. Totally threw me. Apparently he had a bad seizure and a stroke and died & then they found out he had acquired cancer & ddnt know it. Then someone had a post on gofund me that they didn't have enough for the funeral/& burial bc they weren't expecting it, and their child was only 6 mos at the time, but this was sometime in 2021 so it's already been over a yr since
Sad story Michael died at work had a seizure in summer of 2021 literally dropped dead no warning signs and Angie is a single mom and a widow ! Shocking 🤯
I found out my grandma and grandpa are first cousins. Their dads were brothers. So they both had the same last name before and after marriage. But this was in another country and in the year 1940
As someone who has taken classes on genetics, natural selection, and animal breeding, I would like to confirm that it is NOT possible to garuntee that a couple won't potentially have children with a birth defect. Even disregarding that some birth defects are due to environmental reasons rather than genetic ones (fetal alcohol syndrome, for instance) we don't know every single gene that can cause every single disorder, we only know some of them. In regions where first cousin marriages are legal, it's not uncommon for such couples to be required by law to do genetic screening for the genetic disorders we do know about to prove that they aren't both carriers of a known disorder in order for them to legally have children or legally get married (the laws vary some here from region to region.) Even with this precaution, such couples are still significantly more likely to miscarry due to carrying the same unknown lethal recessive alleles (the average I person is a carrier for 5 of these, and if your partner is related to you it's a lot more likely that you'll have one of those 5 in common.) If the baby survives, they're still a lot more likely to have a disorder we don't know how to test for, and/or have polygenetic disorders that are thought to involve dozens of different genes that each play a role in your likelihood of having the disorder (many psychiatric disorders are polygenetic, which is why they sometimes run in families, but different members of the family may have it worse than others, or have slightly different symptoms. )
To clarify the results that they have, that's for typical things a person can have as a disorder. I have EDS so regardless it is a dominant genetic, meaning that 75% of my children will have hypermobile EDS. They were looking for recessive genes in their DNA. These are where it would take two copy's for the person to be effected and not just a carrier of the disorder. It sounds like she's a carrier of fiber whatever she said, and he carries no genetic mutations. Still the kids can and likely will have genetic mutation from having the same copy of just regular DNA
I had no idea eds was so dominant. My brother has it and i have hypermobility. And my mum and nan had stuff thats very similar presenting to some of the traits of it. Im deffo going to have to look into that more for the future. I already had the worry any kids would have it but i didnt know it was so high
I also have H-EDs but I’m either a de-novo mutation, meaning that I’m the first of my line, or that I’m secretly adopted, because I have zero family members on either side who have it at all. So their kid could be the first of its line of many generic diseases, including all 12 forms of EDs.
This is actually legal here in the UK. My cousins are like siblings, so to me it's gross. We also have a fault collagen gene, EDS, It causes a lot of pain, imagine a baby with a double dose of it. There's a lot of British people with South Asian heritage, some have families who moved here many generations ago, right to people who decided to move here or maybe to get married here. It's culturally common to marry cousins, so some families have a very small gene pool, sadly the massively increased the chance of babies born with disabilities, particularly ones with a genetic cause as opposed to a child being born with a quite random disability for example a cleft lip or cerebral palsy, or most limp imperfections. I can't look at it that way, all children are beautiful, I'm trying to respect those children, EDS can be inherited or random. So, in the areas where a high proportion of people living there with South Asian heritage and whose family have cousins marrying cousin ps the rate of birth 'defects' is massively higher than nearby towns and cities. For many, many years officials kept quiet because they didn't want to offend anyone and it's 'culture' doesn't mean culture is always right though. I visited a school in the city adjoining my town their percentage of children with special needs was massively higher than ours. Almost half the children with special needs they had were all I e extended family. They had the same disabilities , some were severely affected others lesser, some of the children were so disabled they had to go to a special school we call them for children with profound needs. It's expensive and the cities in talking about have a far higher % of those schools and the number of places if far higher compared with similar cities. Adults can do what they like with consenting adults, but when it harms babies and children it needs to stop. A similar situation is often seen in Amish communities
Kathy:*cures aids, all cancer *leads us world peace *ends war on drugs and child trafficking World: oh yeah, I know Kathy, the one with the incest cousins
That is unfathomable! Growing up in a church, i knew two sets of parents who were 1st cousins. In one family the children looked "normal", but in the other family the children had overly large heads and a couple of them had limps. And now a couple of my first cousins married our second cousins. Needless to say for many reasons, i do not go to that church anymore 😧😬
I am glad i came across your channel, you do not fail to make me laugh! Not only that but you have the same commentary i think of in these shit situations😂💖 thanks for making me smile
I have stepcousins. Nonrelated. And nope. Just nope. Never. I have always viewed them as my blood relatives and picturing anything beyond that. Gonna vomit. 🤢
7:09 their baby won't have any defects just because they are cousins. The main problem of inbreeding is that both of them may have a recessive allele of certain genetic disease that they are not suffering but act like carriers. Them having children together increases the probability of passing both alels to their child. So they must do this tests to be sure that it doesn't happen. If let's say it’s an autosomal recessive disease (like in her case) and they marry someone who is not related (as one should) they probability of said person also being a carrier of this allele is extremely low and in the long run it will make this abnormal allele to disappear from the family line. On the other side endogamy causes the permanency of undesired traits. So I understand they checked for genetic diseases their child could end up having as a result of their union. Hers say 1 genetic disease out of 274, his say none. So I understand that she has a recessive allele for cystic fibrosis which is autosomal recessive genetic disease he doesn't have this allele so their child will not end up with it. Now that she knows she is a carrier of this allele in the future if let’s say the split up and she decides to marry another man he should do this test because she is a carrier of one abnormal allele. Short answer: this pair won't have a deformed child just for being cousins neither the baby will end up with cystic fibrosis but may end up being a carrier just because she is the mother independently of who is the father. It's still not a reason to commit incest, because they are normalizing it and while they bothered to do this test some may not or just have an unplanned pregnancy that they won't decide to terminate even after knowing that in fact they both carry an abnormal allele.
When I was under ten years old my cousin told me that when we grew up he was going to marry me! I told him that I didn't want to marry him when I grew up cause it was illegal. The next day he lured me into the woods and strangled me unconscious. I woke up to my cousin Jerry pacing back and forth on the fall leaves repeating over and over "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Now he works for the FBI as an agent.👍
They had a gene test that tested for the diseases that they can pass on because they're potential carriers. Some diseases are recessive, meaning you need one genetic copy from each parent. I didn't get if both are cystic fibrosis carriers, but if they are, about 25% chance they set their kid up for early death and suffering
Kids born of incest by first cousins have about a 4.4 ish % chance of having complications. With direct blood relation, it goes up to around 20-30% There are a variety of rules about incest from different cultures, but the main disagreement seems to be if first cousin relations are acceptable. It is a minority of cultures who permit it, most don't, and some will trace ancestry from many generations back.
Well, in the past, first cousins getting together and marrying wasn't uncommon, such as in various european royalty, nowadays its just really rare such as these two lol
@@monicacarolina6480it’s not true, cousin marriage is still very common in eastern countries which is a big area. It doesn’t have to be an isolated village
