Jazmine is such a jazzy girl. I'm in awe of how she utilizes her vocal instrument. Her smoky warm tone and raspy texture enhances her brilliancy. Her vocal runs flow like rivers and waterfalls, her scats drip with jazzy soul, her melismas glide up and down the register as if Jesus Himself is playing piano scales in her vocal chords. Am I being too deep? Maybe so but Jazzy is that DEAL! Love her. I hope she sees this video :D

I always live for dark and raspy tones like Jazmine, Bey and Anita Baker for instance. Their low notes are so full and just beautiful, and when they start going up to their belting range they still have that 'darkness' and thickness in their voice as it becomes crystal clear and womanly at the same time. Also count in the 'soul' factor. Darker tones take me to heaven 🙏

Listening to Jazmine Sullivan...... There aren't enough words in the English dictionary to describe how amazing she is!!! Her riffs and runs and ad-libs are EVERYTHING!!! That was the best 12 minutes and 24 seconds of my freaking life!! imma need for Jazzy and Brandy to do a song together. The riffs and runs them girls could do together............... GOOD GOD IN HEAVEN!!!! I'D DIE!! And am I the only one who gets goose bumps when she sings "In Love With Another Man"????!!!! She slays that song every damn time.

She definitely has a very colorful voice...Her jazz freestyles remind me a bit of Ledisi...And whens she's in her lower register, it kinds sounds a bit like Lalah Hathaway. And of course her riffs and runs show a strong Kim Burrell influence. Marvelous talent. We need more like her.

There is a right and wrong with when speaking on technique but when speaking on things like runs and riffs and growls and other things like that…those are done STYLISTICALLY!! In that sense there is no wrong or right way. That doesn’t make a good or bad singer. If a person can sing they can sing…if you don’t like their voice or tone or whatever or it isn’t for your then don’t listen…simple as that. Try again!
