I like the small detail of Loona not being able to read when the red lights are turned on. dogs cant see the color red, which means that the lights would have actually messed up her vision and its not something Vivsie just decided to throw in.

Stolas smartly used the dead agents to draw his Ars Goetia summoning seal, it really a good detail. Also later in ep 7 thumbnail we see Asmodeus's Ars Goetia symbol too.

I love how Agent Two gained Stolas’s accent when he possessed her. And the circle they draw around her is the real life seal used. The detail of this show

I like how when they're cornered and the Agents pull guns, Blitzo actually steps in front of the others to protect them.

Shes right, the animation changed for both trips. Moxxie's was done in Disney Renaissance style while Blitzø's was done in classic Rubber Hose style.

Hopefully this episode made people Appreciate Stolas....at first hes like "I really need the book to go to earth" then hes like "okay okay! I dont need! need it....but otherwise I gotta posses a whole bunch of people perform a blood ritual make an intricate circle using a body im not familiar with then use it to summon myself and its really really inconvenient and no fun for anyone involved"

This is indeed a Phantom of the Opera scene in a Disney style of animation. Also there is another small homage paid to a series that escapes me in the last few frames of the drawing style of the song. There are some cleanup lines that are left. Great episode all in all. Also there is a paybill of Phantom of the Opera on Moxies wall in the Pilot.

The fact they drew the actual sigil for Stolas (according to the ars goetia, yea, it’s an actual book) is just such attention to detail.

The reason that Hellhounds are considered so low in Hell is that they don't have any real inherent power and don't have any easy way to get power. Even Succubi can exert mental influence on Humans, but the most that a hound can do is be a good but squishy hand to hand combatant and sniff things. Honestly, in terms of street fights, even a Sinner would probably be a better option. Sure they might not be as deadly, but they don't really need to worry about dying themselves.

The way Stolas showed up at 20:28 his appearance reminded me a lot of old school Raven from Teen Titans. You know that one scene where Raven has to overcome her fear during the rainstorm episode, and when she finally overcomes her fear, a Giant Shadowy Raven spreads its wings over the Titan Tower and the entire city?! Stolas was very reminiscent of that scene for me. The episode was episode 18, or the 5th episode of Season 2, titled “Fear Itself.” Pure terror 🤯🤩 But anyway, since Stolas is a stronger demon originally born in hell, he can achieve a powerful form like that. In terms of the characters from Hazbin Hotel, only Charlie and maybe her parents could achieve a similar form, since the rest of the main cast from there are sinners who came to hell, not natively born there. Apparently, Charlie (and obviously her dad - Lucifer) are both even stronger than Stolas, so that’s something. The animation quality in this episode especially, also shows what giving not just Viv’s team, but any animation team, extra time really does for a show’s success. If the number of episodes in the next year are more sparse, but it means we get just as amazing quality shown in this one, I think that’s a deal anyone would happily take! I know I will 😋 Edit: Also, we see even more of Stolas’ powers. Necromancy and Possession, can now be added to the list of petrification, contorsion, and opening rifts between worlds. Stolas already has major death flags from the song he sang for Octavia in the 2nd episode, so I’m inclined to believe he may die late into the series, and maybe Octavia will take up some of his powers, or unlock some of her own.

to answer your question, hellhounds are low on the totem pole because they have basically no special or magical abilities. Luna is simply reading an incantation and the book is doing the magic for her. Thats why the light mattered...

The animation switched styles a little bit but the main thing is that they usually animate less frames for the not as important sections of the show to save time and they didn't do it this episode so everything is nice and smooth.

Blitz's trip is very Pink Floyd feeling. It's kinda like the wall.

Never see people catch that the sound when Stolas is summoning himself from Agent 2's body is bird cries. And the darkness pouring out of her is actually bird feathers. Or the fact that he animated all the corpses around the room and used them to draw his summoning symbol in their own blood... yeah, this is dark. Like really dark. And then he just casually opens up a portal directly back to IMP's conference room like it's no big deal for him. Because it isn't. Also the line "seen a real demon before" implying that while humans think anyone from hell is a demon, they aren't really all demons and that he actually is a demonic being.

I'm so late to seeing this, but the animation styles were different actually! During the trip sequences the animation was meant to emulate Disney! Moxxie's was a modern 2D Disney style (notice the shading and colored lineart) while Blitzo's was meant to emulate classic Disney with the rubberhose style colors and animation!

If you are going to rewatch Hellsing Ultimate Abridged with her I recommend watching them on TeamFourStar's Twitch channel for the full uncut experience (mostly for episode 4 since they blur out a song in one scene) but if your worried for copyright you can just cut the adio out of that part but still get the reaction or disregard this and watch it on RU-vid

Something I just thought about: imps and hellhounds might be so low on the totem pole because they don't seem to possess any extraordinary supernatural powers. To use fighting game terms, Moxie is a zone, Millie is rushdown, Blitz is mixed, and Loomi is a grappler(though she is not afraid to use guns)

12:18 . Notice Stolas is on top of heavenly stairs ? In my interpretation I think Blitzø is genuinely in love with Stolas why else would he be on top of there . But the chains in my interpretation is that he is afraid to fall in love with him Stolas even says it . And he is afraid Stolas only sees him as a plaything only used to pleasure himself while Blitz wants a genuine relationship . Moxxie says it too "I believe your subconscious is trying to tell you that you can't fathom proper intimacy , but also crave it as well" . Another hint was in episode 5 when Blitz told Striker it's only a transactional fucking , in the background they try to keep their laugh in and he was also stuttering most likely because he feels a bit embarrassed about it is what I believe. But the thing that Blitz doesn't know is that Stolas is actually very in love with him the show made that very clear , yes he is perverted and says alot of perverted things but we can all clearly see that he genuinely cares for him and actually loves him . I just wish these 2 would be locked up together and talk things through I truly believe if they get a relationship it could work but only if they talk it out .

In the scene where Blitzo said Moxxie had terrible taste in music he says it was fully of "ugly, horny cats." The implication is that Moxxie sent Blitzo to a showing of Cats, which was considered an absolutely awful musical with Taylor Swift. It was easily one of the worst films in the year it came out. Kirby is right about the subtle changes in animation between the regular animation, Moxxie's hallucination, and Blitzo's. Moxxie's hallucination used the same style Disney used in the later years of hand animated films such as Hercules while Blitzo's used old animation styles from the 50'-60's. And lastly Kirby was correct on the reference to Phantom of the Opera. Despite the fact that it isn't really an opera but a rock musical Moxxie, in light of the fact that he's a music snob, has constant references to that musical throughout the series. The most blatant is his ringtone.

In this episode we are reminded that as funny as these guy's are we then to forget that these are demons from hell

The reason I don't worry much because of the Hazbin hotel voice actors being different than before, is only because the voice might be a bit different, but it's most likely to be almost the same. A pretty good example is the Helluva boss pilot episode voice actor for Stolas was different than now. People didn't talk much about it, so I didn't even realize at 1st.

Its really wholesome when you consider the fcat that Loona wasn't one of the hallucinations Blitzø experienced. This means that subconsciously, Blitzø considers her to be one of the few things in his lonley life that believes he did right. Despite his arrogant nature, he truly does care for her and would do anything to do right by his daughter.

This episode is my favorite!! The hullication scene, Stolas' entrance, the small character development in Blitz and Moxxie. I need little stuffed dolls of all of them!!

Yeahhhh no one is going to say anything bad about this episode that is for sure. We got drunk Moxxie now we need high in the sky Moxxie. I will say while this seems like the pure essence of their thought processes towards each other in the hallucinations there appear to be underlying truths deeper down. Moxxie while he does hate Blitz's treatment of him and Millie understands the underlying care Blitz hides. If it was about getting verbal abuse and his toxic attitude, there is next to no chance he and Millie will get better treatment elsewhere since y'know. HELL. And on the Blitz side yes he does fear abandonment, and while it SEEMS like he pushes people away those that get close in reality he is smothering and overprotective. Hence why those that he loved or loves saying those things and him screaming against that. Which I am pretty sure is a rough fight of gaslighting he is trying to get through. Because it's not like he does NOT blame himself and he's hiding from blame. And of course there's how they all act as a unit anyways. Pretty much a family. Which was demonstrated a lot throughout that huge fight. And Blitz even ending off by pushing M&M, and Loona behind him when they are out of weapons. In contrast to the big BEAUTIFUL entrance that was Stolas. He made that entrance a GAME. A FUCKING GAME. We saw him just open the portal back to the IMP office no problem. He did NOT need to summon himself. And when after he confirmed IMP was safe what was the 1st thing he said? "HOW THE FUCK WERE YOU CAUGHT BY HUMANS?! YOU KNOW IF YOU GET IN TROUBLE, I GET IN TROUBLE. WE DON'T WANT THAT." Which kinda spells out why he showed up. IMP could EASILY taken on the last 2 DHORKS agents unarmed. Millie broke a neck with her LEGS. Stolas was afraid that HE would get in trouble. And considering that entrance and how powerful he seems...he answers to higher authority. Stolas may be a hell prince, but there are the ringleaders. And that puts into perspective how scary THEY can be. Lucifer, Satan, and the other sin princes.

Hell yeah I can't wait to see 7 part 1 reaction! I really do hope she comes around to appreciate Stolas a little more. c': If not, that's okay too.

It's worth noting that Millie is Exceptionally deadly for an imp. Loona on the other hand is about normal to a couple notches above average for a hell-hound.

SAO Abidged was the reason I started watching anime proper. I stumbled across episode 4 of SAO Abridged (the latest one ep they had out), loved it. Watched the previous three eps, been along for the ride since. Then I watched the actual series and kept up with it. Looked up recommended abridged series and found DBZ Abridged, watched Dragon Dragon Ball and DBZ. Found One Piece and other series. I'm not anime crazy and haven't watched quite a few of the more popular series, but still like 'em. All because of SAO Abridged =) So it will always be special to me. Also another recommendation is A Slap On Titan. A great abridged series that it seems not many really react to, which is a shame.
