My understanding is that Hasina left China early because she was not promised the $5 billion in loan that she had sought from China. Given General Bakshi's statement that China wanted to develop a deep water port near Chittagong but Hasina chose Japan (and the West) over China for that development which signaled to China that Bangladesh was siding with the West in the foreseeable future. Thus, China's unwillingness to give her the loan was perfectly understandable. Why should China help Bangladesh with a $5 billion loan if Bangladesh was not going to work with China to advance the Belt & Road Initiative? Why didn't she go to Japan or the US to ask for the $5 billion in loan? However, it is illogical for General Bakshi to suggest that China would collude with the US to depose Hsina. China may not be pleased with Banglashe's direction, but China would be working against its own interest by working with the US to remove Hasina if the replacement is a pro-US leaser. The fact that Mohammed Younus - the darling of the West - has being positioned as the next leader of Bangladesh clearly shows who was behind the coup. Morevover, Imran Khan who had favored stronger relationship with China and Russia was deposed in Pakistan shows clearly where Pakistan stands currently. Logically speaking - how could Pakistan be acting on behalf of China if Pakistan got rid its pro-China leader? Lastly, Hasina's own son said in a recent interview that China has never intruded in Bangladesh's internal affairs.

We have let down Sheikh Hasina badly. We should give her asylum and a free territory in India as we do for the Hon'ble Dalsi Lama for her to recoup her party in exile. We can negotiate with her for transfer of area in Bangla Desh adjoining Chicken's neck to India. By developing the rail and road connectivity through this srea, we would have access to ASEAN countries and increase our presence in South East Asia and secure contol of North Eastern regions. Meanwhile we should increase our military presence around Bangla Desh borders so that we can intervene militarily in case of the Jamat Islami-Bangla Army-Pakistsni combination starting any military-gorella attacks on India. General and all Indians, India really needs to rethink its strategic positioning in south Asia and the world. India really has to forget the notion that you are any type of superpower - military or economic. India is a military shopping super ppwer. Even your Army assault rifles are imported. I think your military boots are also imported or made under license. The Brahmos is under license from Russia. The Rafales are bought from France. You can wipe out Pakistan, which you should have done long ago. But in a major war with China you do not stand a chance. China makes every nut and bolt, every rocket and missile, every stealth fighter and aircraft carrier in China. Even the statue of Sardar Patel is made in China. Modern war is technology, logistics and industrial strength. India will lose to China in all three. If I go to the supermarket in my country there is not a single Indian product available for sale. None. But my furniture, my TV set, the lights, my fan, airconditioner, computer, mobile phone, my clothes are all Made in China. Meaning India is not anywhere near an economic superpower. You can forget about it. Yes India fought a war with China but that was 62 years ago. That was during the Cold War where the CIA worked very hard to keep India and China apart. Forget it and move one. In its entire history China has never invaded India for territory. No Tang Dynasty army or Soong dynasty army ever crossed the Himalays to attack India. The Chinese will never claim any territory where brown skinned people live. Ladakh and Aksai China are disputed but the line of control has been quiet since 1962. That border brawl using sticks and fists was a silly mistake. Both India and China should have apologised to each other and the soldiers on both sides should hqve been disciplined. China is India's largest trading partner. You buy over US$150 billion goods from China every year. China is your largest supplier of computer chips. And you call China your enemy? You are a very confused people. A very confused people. Plus you are with China and Russia in BRICS. How can you declare China your enemy and yet sit with them inside the BRICS? And your very good friend Russia is an even closer ally of China. In the event of a war between India and China the best Russia will do is take a neutral position. Or they may stop supplies of parts for your Brahmos, Sukhois and MIGs. Do not think that is not possible. Indian policy towards China should be turned 180 degrees. Freeze the border as it is now and sign a peace treaty with China. Who lives on the Aksai China anyway? The Abonimable Snowman?
