Jeff here in Eastern Noth Carolina we don't have any record stores any more, a few what I call junk shops but that's about it. we have to scavage whatever we can find. I have a boat load of 78's but don't go looking for them , they have mostly come to me from other peoples personal collections. One of these days I hope to have a turntable like you have, so I can play 78's through my main stereo system, right now I have to play them on a 1967 RCA console. I love the big bands and the old music from the 30's and 40's. there is so much great music back there, as I say the older it is the more I am going to enjoy it. stay happy
Bummer there aren't record stores close by, Rick. But I would think junk shops in the Carolina's could be a goldmine for 78s, especially classic country. Maybe all picked over though? Hand-me-downs from others can sometimes pay off with some great records. Keep hunting! Thanks for watching and commenting. Skol, Jeff
Hey, Max! Thanks for tuning in. How's the crate digging in Minnesota now that things are opening up? Was going to drop in at Hymie's and then the riots started. So, maybe next month. Sko! Jeff
@@ToneInGrooves Here in West Central MN, there are a lot of great little antique shops with vinyl booths where quality and reasonably priced records can still be found! I tend to limit my visits to these places so as not to go crazy and blow all my money, but treat myself occasionally to a good ol' dig! There's always something great to be found!
I was drooling at the start of your vidio, if we had a place like that in eastern North Carolina they would have to carry me out of there. gosh you don't know how lucky you are. I couldent help notacing that a lot of those records have a number or letter on them. it makes me wonder if they either a radio station or a juke box copy. nice haul
Hello, again, Rick! Have never been crate digging in NC. Used to live in Columbia, SC and would frequent Papa Jazz Records there. Great store for vinyl. No 78s that I as I remember. But I wasn't collecting them then (that was like 20+ years ago) so I might have overlooked them. I take it that you collect 78s? Skol! Jeff
