Man that's handy to have that sand and gravel resource. Glad you had some help. We missed seeing Lulu. 😉 I put that dang tarp shelter frame of ours up by myself and it took about 2 hours. I didn't have the bottom end pieces so the thing kept twisting and folding up on me. I've had a Harbor Freight "portable garage" for many years. I keep a sacrificial HF tarp over the actual cover, held over it with bungee cords. The sun eventually destroys the tarp, but the original cover remains in good condition. Replacement covers for those shelters are much more expensive than a regular tarp.

We have a shelter logic up here in interior Alaska. We knock the snow off after each snow fall as our neighbors shelter logic collapsed under a heavy snow load. Winter of 2020-21 had a total snowfall of 91.3 inches

The good thing about SE Alaska is we have warmer winters and not as much snow fall. The trade off is high winds, 82 MPH last winter and high seas, 12’ was the highest if I remember correctly.

Dan, I’ve had good luck with these tents. Some people gave them bad ratings but there are three green tents owned by neighbors 4 years old or older and they are all still standing. The zippers may be broken or some other small issue but in my opinion these shelter logic hold up really well. Now we live in an overcast environment so the sun may play a roll in them not doing well in other areas. I know that new tent says it’s treated on both sides to block UV. Ha I may have gotten a little long winded but I’ve been happy with mine. I just commented to CB saying they make greenhouse too. I might get one for this spring.

The Costco tent did ok for the amount of snow we get here. I’ve had no issue with the green one with the steep pitch. We’ve had it for three or four years now. The pitch of the new one isn’t as steep but the frame square instead of round. It did cost a few hundred dollars more though. $800 for the green $1200 for the new brown. That was the last quality tent in Juneau so I paid the extra money.

Thanks Mate Great work

I got the thinnest material and I would recommend getting as think as you could get. The tent itself is great but the cover started to fray on the corners where it rubbed against the frame.
