Now this is counntry that hits you in the soul absolutely beautiful it makes you think of people that have come into your life and be grateful to God for your blessings. If you are not in tears after this you need to check your heart.
MY HUSBAND AND I DANCED TO THISE WHEN IT CANE OUT.. AND SOMEWHERE IN THE VICINITY.. I WENT INTO A COMA..AND 23.5 YEARS LATER REUNITED STILL IN LOVE.. NOW 2 COMAS 6 STROKES..AND A SIEZURE LANDING A QUAD ATOP ME.. MUSIC IS THE MOST THERAPEUTIC WAY TO GREAT MEMORIES.. MARTY RAYBON HAS ALWAYS BEEN A VOICE W SHENANDOAH I COUKD NEVER FORGET
I've never judged a musician by their album. That's studio magic(most of the time) Always listen to them live and you'll know what I mean. These guys still got it! They just belong performing together.
You could tell Marty was thinking !! This is absolutely magical! We have got to put this together again! And thank GOD they did! The best group in my lifetime to grace a country stage! Shenandoah 4ever!
No thumping bass..no overpowered guitar...a GREAT song sung by one of the BEST groups to come along in my lifetime ! Sometimes less is definitely more !
I’ve always loved this song even as a kid.. I’m older now and lived a wonderful life but it’s normal to wonder about some choices made.. That’s why I love the line “Would I only trade regrets”.. That’s the true beauty of this song
Thank you for sharing this with us. What an insane amount of talent. Not ashamed to admit that this 52 year old man used a couple kleenexes on tears when I sang along.
the best country music group ever. I grew up on these guys. They were a constant thing in my house growing up. I remember my mama just randomly singing their songs while she was cooking or cleaning. god I'd give anything to go back to that. Marty rabon is one of the most under rated country singers their ever was. He didn't get nowhere near the credit he deserved. Truly an amazing voice
I, too, listen to this every day along with Dan Seals singing everything that glitters is not gold on the Opry stage with the Ralph Emery get together in 1999 I tthink.
Yes i love true country music like this i love his Voice and his Harmonie in his voice he has the best Natural voice in true country music i could listen to him all day
Yeah i wish country music was still like this today the true country music back in the old days was so much better than what they call country music today this pop country is not worth listening to i was raised on country music like this and it brings back memories of my childhood
Yes they are still Amazing today i wish country music was still like this today it has so much Heart and soul and sadness in his music you can feel the sadness in his voice 😢 and that is what true country music is all about
Wow this is even BETTER than the original studio recording. There's something about the raw power and feeling of a live take. Also, love the Sox cap Jim!
I cried when I saw an heard this. 😢. Just heart felt. Love you guys forever in my heart an memories in my tape deck in my mustang .. got me through many rough times. ♡♡
Yes! I thought the same thing. Nothing wrong with the original, but this was special. I could listen to Marty Raybon sing the phone book, as they used to say when there were phone books!
I love your voice Marty. One my favorite bands throughout my life! Still takes me back to sweet times in my life and times when I was broken. I miss times passed. Grandparents, Dad and Mom. Family, youth and miss the fellowship. God bless you all
I've followed y'all for many years Marty....You were blessed with greatness and a genuine knack for just being a decent man...GOD bless you and yours always, James.
Their albums are the soundtrack of my youth. Marty _still_ has the voice of angel. Saw Shenandoah in Shreveport about a month ago and wished like heck Jim had been there too, but it was a phenomenal show regardless.
i thoroughly enjoyed this. Shenandoah is my all time favorite country group. You could see the emotions and feelings in Marty's face. I wonder what they were all feeling. awesome and under appreciated this group was
Gee whiz....it just doesn't get better than this. Marty Raybon is what Country used to be when it was the real thing. Add Keith Whitley too. Both from Bluegrass. Not from The Voice or American Idol. Goose bumps all over both arms!!!
Absolutely beautiful song like so many other songs from Shenandoah Marty Raybon voice is one of the greatest out there. But I believe everything in life happens for a reason. Every time I think about that road not taken it's a reminder to me that God has the wheel and I wouldn't be where I'm at in life today.
This is unbelievable to me..... Not to sound like a softy :-) But this is a special moment caught on tape... Fantastic song and sound... Great lead and backup vocals AND Guitar....... I can only imagine what it's like for those standing around who remember this at the shows years ago... I found it looking for "Road Not Taken" from Bruce Hornsby and quickly gave up my search to watch it over and over.... Thank you for posting this!!! Good songs are like leaded fuel.... They're Hard to find
Love how the lady beside Jim ( maybe Jims wife ? ) just stares at Marty in amazement as he sings. She's probably heard him sing as much as anybody but still amazed as if it were the first time she'd ever heard his incredible voice. What an icredible video of the greatest voice I've ever heard.
I can't believe anyone could dislike this... I grew up listening to these guys. They touched my heart and still do.. one of the most underrated bands ever
Always one of my favorite groups...love their harmonies. So thrilled they are back touring and have released their new album "Reloaded". Check out "That's Where I Grew Up". Show these guys some love when they roll through your area!!
This is what real country music is right here people not what they play today on the radio the young people today don't know what true country music is this is the kind of country music i grew up listening to and this is the kind of country music we need today
