Yes, it's really "flirting", especially his famous false smile that he shows when Molly turns around. Sherlock is only manipulating her here to get her help for a case.

@@villanelle2.0 actually that is wrong. They already know each other, he was first introduced to John at the morgue and that's where he met John. I'd say Sherlock had probably known Molly for a while, it looks to me she knew him before.

No he's not... Just trying to compliment her to get what he wants. He is affectionate of her though-but that comes later not here. Very bad inference guys I'm disappointed..

It is manipulation. Yes Sherlock cares for molly & he trusts her immensely ( thats why he chose her to fake his suicide later on in season 2) but sherlock does manipulate other people around him if he thinks it will help him on a case. Look at the sherlock show as a whole - he does manipulate people from time to time. Molly who loves him sincerely though ( i think she is aware of his behaviour) tends to give in to him anyway in spite if his manipulative behaviour.
