Mike did a great job on that razor, it looks amazing. This looked like it was a really nice shave. You just have to love the SE shaves. Great video as always.

Just bought this today BEFORE I saw this video, and now I feel more confident it was a good purchase. Whether I like it more than my Hawkv3 or my Colonial General, we shall see. Thanks Subie!

Do me a favor....TELL US how you like it!?! I think you're getting the new batch of Brass, so I am curious to hear your thoughts! The General is a TOP notch razor - everyone I know that has it won't part with it....soooo....again would love to hear your comparison! Thank you so much Steve!!

Nice one Josh! When I saw this razor on the site, I was very tempted to get into AC safety razors. I have a bunch of artist club shavettes, but I only have one safety razor and I'm still not sure I want to go down that road. It looks awesome and the finish reminds me of some high end gold jewelry I've seen. Mike really refined the look of his AC design and it looks slick and fast. I love how you go to town with your soaps-YOLO! If you get into soaps they start building up, so why not use them like there's no tomorrow. Sounds like a nice scent and really captures this time of year. Have a great weekend Josh!

I’ve never tried it, but I was told Catsup (or Ketchup🤣) will clean a brass or copper razor and rid it off patina. I personally like the patina🤷🏼‍♂️

100% works!! But you want to make sure the razor doesn't have a coating - it will eat it too!! 👍 Good ol tomato's 🍅

Just ordered the shield AC in stainless. Now I need some AC blades lol. Did you have some hack video for ac blades or injector blades?
@SubieShaves
@SubieShaves Месяц назад
That's awesome 👍 No, this razor head is VERY thin and ultra precise. It fits the ACs and that's it unless you want to really trim and shape your blades
@Gotobecrazy

@@SubieShaves Injector blades fit in AC razors? Was just wondering I know you had some hack video but couldn't remember which one.

That’s a beautiful looking razor, AC isn’t for me but that looks like a very high quality piece. Interesting that you mentioned the plastic washers….my 6S kept throwing up uneven blade alignment until I realised it was the plastic washer…once I took it off the problem went away…just something to think about, I thought it was just me until you mentioned it. Have an awesome day 👏👍

Totally been something discussed by other shavers - washers can do funny things to tight tolerances - so weighing the pros/cons sometimes is needed. How much will those wear marks bother you - and will it change the shave? Thanks Paul for joining me as always! Good to see you here!

Hey! Wondering how (if) you store this puppy? The plastic shield box you get with the razor is a bit too big so I got myself an altoids tin and some eva foam (I failed miserably to cut out the foam it looked like a mess 😄). And I kinda don't wanna store it straight in the tin cause I'm afraid I'll scratch it. Got the aluminum and steel one - got any good suggestions I can do myself perhaps?

i have some issues blades are proprietary, and the head being too wide, when shaving your face if you have some facial hair suck using it there hard to edge the beard
@SubieShaves
@SubieShaves 4 месяца назад
AC do have a very wide face and a stiff blade, definitely ok if they don't work for you. Honestly - I am still learning how to use them properly, and I have said it many times - when I get a nick it's usually from a AC razor. Thanks for watching!

How do these Shield AC razors hold up to the yaqi romulus?
@SubieShaves
@SubieShaves 4 месяца назад
Reposting my response to a similar question today 👍 As a YMMV tale of caution I want to preface, what suits me best may not work for you very well at all, and I try to avoid saying one is truly better for everyone when that usually just isn't the case. The Money value for the Shield in Aluminum is going to be really hard to top, the quality is there, but it's a very light razor - so - if you don't like light razors it won't be your thing. Brass adds heft but requires work to maintain, Stainless is going to be your apples too Apple's comparison and I think it's too close to call side by side. Titanium for me is the standout personally (weight, feel, and upkeep). The Remulus and Romulus are heavy, well made, and like the Shield are on the milder side (the OC does take that up a notch on my skin). Where the rubber meets the road and the difference sits is in the face and profile of the razor. The YAQI cap has more slope to it, more taper, whereas the Shield is taller, and more angular, (think triangle vs hill 📐 🏔️) for shape. I find the angle is a bit easier to manipulate on the shield side (like DE kind of) and the Remulus more like the traditional SE with a specific angle, otherwise it's less close. For me, I reach for the Shield more often - simply because I like the weight and feel of Titanium on my dome. The shaves are so similar, aside from the angle, that it comes down to weight and material for me personally. Hope that helps!

@@SubieShavesWhen it comes to the Shield and Yaqi, which one would you use for the most nimble and mild tasks? Basically, I'm a Sasquatch, and my mustache grows up way too high, and I have to shave halfway into my nose, and the hair on my head grows onto where my ears connect to my head. I usually use an Atra in a scooping motion on the top of my ear while pulling it. I'm most concerned about not nicking those areas than efficiency, and the ability to shave a tight area where I can't take a real stroke, just push the head in and basically tilt it. Awesome pics, by the way! It reminded me of the lighting and colors from CSI Miami, which has a very signature look with the cinematography. There's a lot of warm sunset orange light as well as some lime green.
@SubieShaves

@Leenunes007 most nimble and mild is going to be the Shield Aluminum! That thing is darn near weightless and still packs some punch!!
