Please consider making a long video that just talks about lore. Idk why but your voice is calming and I don't mean to seem weird. It's just a talent you have.
Shield Tech was my first toon when the game come out in 2008. I came back to game after a 6 year hiatus after watching your videos, and I still main my Shield Tech. Watching your in-depth guide really made my day. :P
Although it's my least favourite of the tanks, VG/PT tank is the one that I've played the most since launch. Yet I still learned something new with the >4m taunt mechanic! Fantastic video as always, with lots of great tips! :)
Me too! Nyyah, our master tank, kept writing "4m+" in their notes and I had to ask so many questions! more info www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/3sjh2a/gearing_my_powertech/cwxr2u8/
@@Swtorista I'll take a look! I was just reading through this summary too: www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9654275&postcount=4 Time to brush off a PT and go shopping for some Tracker armour!
Was actually looking for a decent guide on a power tech tank in 6.0 and saw yesterday the newest video was this 45 min video on an older version of the game. As a new player I'm pretty useless to my group so I'm glad I found this guide to help out and hopefully you make more so one day I can do the raid or whatever its called in this game.
I haven't played a powertech since launch, but, I still love hearing your wonderful voice talk about them. Any chance of you doing more of these 6.x guides?
@@TheMathxz you could probably use the Sith Lightening Sorc guide she made, as they're supposed to be identical specs just w/ different animations/skill names iirc.
Only yesterday I was saying I'd love to see more of these and then you treat me to this little gem. Brilliant guide, even better than the last one you did. Great break down of skills, rotation and further detailed guidance if wanted (which in my case, it is 😁) I hope you continue with these because they are so good and as new player gives me a feel for each class and makes me want to play each one of them. Would love to see a healer or damage class next just to get some variety in the class types (both have been tanks so far) and maybe a republic side class (Both Empire) for any role players. But again great work!!!
@@Swtorista Oh wow, sounds like a lot of time and research go into each guide. I'd assumed by number of videos and the size of your channel you already had one of each character but the fact that your being mentored by people who main those classes is one step deeper than I would have thought to go. You clearly love this game and thank you for putting in the time so that I can learn and love this game too. I will leave you to get on with you guides. Happy hunting 😁
Thank you for this guide!! I'm taking a break from WoW to get back into this. This really helped me figure out how to prioritize abilitys. Now I'm actually holding threat lol.
Just got back after my second big break...Still got my body type 3 tank babe and looking to get back into regualr Ops with her. Perfect timing & outstanding content as always
I've been playing power tech tank since the beginning of the game too. I always start a new RPG as what perceive as the "Fighter type" in reference to D&D, ie someone not magical but skilled and heavily armored. Power Tech fit that description and Mandalorians have been my favorite faction Star Wars since KOTOR 1. Also back when companions had defined roles Bounty Hunter got their healer as their first companion. Tank + Healer was a good leveling combination if you don't care about TTK.
recently switched from gunnery to AP-T and it feels like going from butterknife to sledgehammer. Amazing burst but has the survivability of a snowman in the desert.
I have been watching too much of your stuff to not be a subscriber I am a thief. Fantastic guide, everything is very well expressed. I'd love to see more, particularly a Commando/Merc heal one
plus on my game stream, I am sharing your walkthrough for both the written and video guide that you made, hope it gets you a few more people to watch the work you are doing for swtor game
I wish when people did these guides that they'd just include the mirror as well. It would be more helpful for more people imo. The only thing that changes is the ability images/names/ and animations so it should be fine to do that.
I have a big request... I’ve finally played almost all the base game stories and my main was lightning inquisitor. I have started to dabble in group finder flashpoint so I switched to heals cause that’s was what was needed. Could you do one of these for Jedi Sage Seer or Sith Inquisitor sorcerer heals😁
Imo, you should only play roles that you enjoy playing. Our guild is that way, we appreciate people wanting to heal and tank but most people don't want to and just want to be dps, that's fine. After all it's a game and meant to be fun, so if you aren't having fun, don't do it 😊
Can you make some more of these please? I really like these guides as they're really useful and I would like to see an annihilation marauder next if you can make one?
As much as it would be cool for PT’s to have a sorc’s crushing darkness and affliction put into their rotation. Your description of the video should probably remove that (in your priority system / rotation section). We wouldn’t want a lightning shooting pyromaniac now. :P
I got a question, im planning on subscribing and i wanna ask, does it charge you at the end of the month or after 30 days of the purchase ? so for example if i buy it on the 29th will it charge me in 2 days or in 30 days
Hey swtorista could you make a video talking about all the characters on your server, their roleplay, and the backstory behind making them? That would be a pretty cool video idea
@@Swtorista you've done a great job! There not to much source's with general information about SWTOR. A specially for RU player's. Luckily I'm had a knowledge of Eng. But anyway that's not the main purpose of my question to you. The point is in that I'm a Former - World Of Warcraft player. But im tierd to much from WoW, 15 f....ng years that's quite a lot, you know.... Now I dicide to try SWTOR in 2020. I know a SW lore, so this world is a friendly to my for anderstand. All of years that played in WoW. I was acting as a Tank. And I want to choose between three of those classes in SWTOR. Dark İnquisitor / İmmortal Juggernaut / PowerTech Tank.
The link to the written guide is broken :( I'd really like to be able to refer to that, because if I keep playing this video over and over, my wife is going to think I'm obsessed with your voice. What is the armor set you are wearing in the video (the green armor)?
Just a few days back, was in a PvP warzone match facing a Powertech who used his grapple hook ability to want to pull me towards him. His first pull failed because there is an obstacle in-between which stopped me from being pulled. Almost immediately he used the same grapple hook ability to pull me again (This time successful). My question is does Powertech has consecutive 2 pulls to use? Or is there any ability which he used to reset his grapple hook ability CD? Or is he using a hack? (I personally have 2 Powertech alts which I played for years but never knew there is such a consecutive twice pulling ability).
Great question! Here's my guess. There's a tactical item called - Second Contract: Grapple gets two charges and finishes the cooldown of Rocket Punch and Flaming Fist!
Hello, do you have guides like this for all classes? This is the only guide I have found that goes through rotation well. I am returning after a several years break. I use to have a good website to follow but can’t find it now.
@@kangkudos1225 Thanks, I used concentration until starting shadow of revan, then used watchman for a while. I now main combat sentinel, fanged God form is so OP
I hate how the Bounty Hunters are stereotyped as Mandolorians very few BH are Mandolorian in the SW universe. I know Jango Fett and the Mandolorian don't help, but I just think as a Star Wars fan that the stereotype is a little wack.
@@chrisonderon1124 Well naturally anyone born on Mandalore is a Mandalorian. There are also the ancient Mandalorians the alien species that was native to Mandalore pre old republic era, but they aren't relevant anymore.
I dont know if you will read this, I have always started a DPS and have no idea how i would play trough story as a tank/healer. Is it just dps'ing or do i set up my companion to dps and i tank/heal? The question is aimed for solo play ofcourse. Early game healing/tanking isnt quite clear to me.
Hey Swtorista, i'm having some hard time understanding the 'taunt from range' buff. I have tried that (from 10 meters) and i haven't noticed any aditional threat on my threat meter. I have not found any information about that in skills/utilities or passives nor is it mentioned in any other guides i found. Could you go into a bit more details - how does this works? where can this information be found in game?
Hi Gago. There are no threat meters in the game - you might be referirng to the little eyeball symbol that just measures if an enemy has noticed you walking by or not? In general taunts multiply your current thread built up - so you use some other abilities like attacks or harpoon, then use your taunt, which will build threat (but you can never see "how much" threat" unless you are using an outside tool like ixparse.com/ - if thats what you mean you are using, my guess is you are not building any threat up first?
@@Swtorista Yes im using ixparse.com/, and i started fight with 2 series of rapid shots then taunt. I tryed it couple of times as numbers are always a bit different. But the taunt threat result is always similar. Tryed it with firend having him get agro before i taunted but same results. Can you tell me where is this information from?
Just started playing a month ago, and after creating the powertech tank I've read many dated posts about it beeing not so good to bad. What's the status now? It's supposed to be just ok in PvE, and plain bad in PvP. Wouldnt want to invest in a character I would stop enjoying afterwards...
Thanks for the video. This game has a lot of potential. It's too bad they chose to go with tab targeting; while fine for melee classes, it really took a lot of the skill and fun out of the ranged ones. Oh well!
sgtarpin, I don't blame you. Disney is trying to destroy it. I don't give a damn what Disney says, NOTHING pertaining to Star Wars that Disney claims is canon, is canon. Disney doesn't make canon, they make SJW crap.
@@Swtorista oh I thought they finally made a way to practice combat with a target that hits back...but looks like they haven't and all we have is still those training dummies
