exact same issues. y’all gotta open your eyes. the media has been pushin this bullshit on the youth for over 10 years like it’s new age problems. and people are so stupid that every generation falls for it. turning people against eachother is too easy.
the world needs people like him to expose the truth. We have reached the point where we listen, but hopefully we will soon take it to heart; we will stop laughing at ourselves and start taking action upon the peacemaker's pleas.
@thesistersincomedy: i definitely have to agree...maybe because people are nly hearing these words and not truly listening necausehese are two different things..
What gets me is that no one wants to say the fact yes fact that africa sold there own people into slavery. That's not only on Americans of the time go after africa for some of this "restitution" when there just is none. I miss words being used like this in an artistic way. We need more of it in this world.
I don't think he was saying African people are ugly. He said all shades of Black are beautiful. I think he was talking about a particular model b/c at a certain time it is almost as if they were not representing all types of Black ppl they were heavily pubbing this one African model. Not that I have an issue w/ her but I think he that is what he was saying.
The day I stopped saying that I am proud of being black. I still remember those days, yes, those days were the TV, only has one good character, only one prince, one queen, one king, just one way of telling the history of us, of me, of you, yes, I still remember those days, like it was yesterday. And somehow deep inside they manipulate us, and make us think about how different We are, how inferior we should be, and fuck We believe them, and fuck we took the bait, so bad that we still don’t get it, but one they I stand up, and I just said to myself, why do I have to tell myself that I am proud of being me? And that day, I just took a moment and tell myself, no no, I am not proud anymore, I will be me and you be you, and if I have to be prod of something, let me tell what it will be of, I will be proud of my uncle, my brother… well not really this guy don’t do much, but I will be proud of my friends, my community, my wife, my son, I will be proud of what day to good and what they might want to do better. Fuck being proud of being black, what the heck is that anyway, you are the one who wants to heard that, and you are the reason why I start saying that, but I have to tell you, today was the last time I said it, from now on, I am not proud of being black, I am black, and as a human, I am just proud to be able to tell you, yes you, I am proud to know that We going to be here longer than you thought, and that you should be ashamed of your effort as is so weak and has no pride on it.
Not in all cases. Do you know what social determinants are? Minorities and people in color are statistically more likely to live in food deserts and even if they do have access to groceries, they are many times not as cheap as the produce in the suburbs and are of lower quality (which is sickening). Please do research about social determinants and how stress is becoming the silent killer before making such a bold statement.
@Beambelite I think he means the fact that the modeling world pushes a very goofy standard of beauty I actually agree that some I said SOME African models are busted yet they are models.
@JaeKuroify thank you for your comment, you are very right about the entertainment aspect. i dont know if this subject is worth discussing any more but it is something to think about for all. I just really feel we need to stop separating ourselves into this "black community, white community" and become a unity of brothers and sisters. but mayb thats impossible, mayb too many people are obsessed with their "color", or mayb the nefarious plan all along was to keep us separated. empathy for all...
@epopeegenetics I agree and disagree with what you said. As a black person, I realize a lot of blacks in entertainment pull the race card just because they can. There is no justification behind it or reason but it gets them out of trouble and/or makes them seem more legit. However, there are others who have to pull the race card in entertainment because there is a stereotype about black people that won't go away unless we beat it into each others heads.
@JaeKuroify Ran out of space :P but anyway, the racial thing here is a bit different because he is talking to his own race. The crowd here is majority black and most of the poets on this show are speaking to other blacks trying to explain a lesson in the form of poetry. His is that we embrace things and let things go because people make us think its okay and he is sick of it. Getting a bit racist with your own race is necessary when you're trying to make them understand.
" and im tired if the media, pushing these ugly african models, tryina convince me that they're exotic, when they' just plain ugly" LOLOL gets me rolling everytime
@latiwalovelyy the arguement isn't that they're African. He said they're black. I'm merely pointing out there is a distinct difference between black and African. This including Egyptians who aren't black, but rather Arabic. Obviously Egyptians are African.
@AndreRedd1Empire Ron Paul isn't a member of the tea party... they do share some issue positions, but more and more tea partiers are drifting towards Republican...ism. or whatever. You should vote for Ron Paul because he doesn't support rights for blacks, rights for women, rights for gays, rights for muslims... he supports rights for individuals.
That is more my line of thinking. color doesn't matter in the Bible nor does it mean much to God, but people use color as a way to divide us and to try to exclude people from a religion based on their own prejudices and racism. It doesn't matter what color the Hebrews were, only the message of God. But I will jump in and call people out on being false when they claim color matters.
