Considering out of everyone they probably treated Shii-Ann the worst of all, i think it's amazing and represents how smart she is that she was not only the least bitter juror this season, but of most Survivor seasons
They bullied her to bits and even made the extra effort to make her know and feel that she was an outsider. Rewatching this and seeing her demeanour really does show how educated she is.
There’s nothing wrong with being a bitter juror. Survivor is a game show but with real people, so feelings will get in the way. However, you shouldn’t be a hypocrite about it like Lex was being.
Kathy’s reasoning was very normal at this stage of the game , lex’s was normal to because Rob used their real life friendship and their pre-game alliance while Lex eliminated Ethan, he didn’t have a pre game alliance with Ethan . Alicia got blindsided whic makes a bitter jury at early stage but she was unreasonably resentful
I think hearing her speech, the fact that she was the only one not filled with hate or anger after going a full week with everyone on her tribe treating her like shit and ostracizing her for not being part of their alliance, really speaks to her character.
She later became a Real Estate Agent and joined the Million Dollar Round Table club. I think it speaks volume of how her character is. She doesn't care about stabbing people at the back, neither will she care if people did that to her. Its fair play. I love that character from her. Lol.
They didn't treat her like shit. They just didn't want to go the final 4 with her and were upfront about it. Shii Ann has a very divisive personality. She's not the easiest either. Anyway considering she had no pre game friendship's and alliances, the players brought her really far. If she's in the final 2 she has a real chance of winning actually if she was against any of the women and maybe Rupert depending. Big Tom is the only one who definitely beats her and probably Rob depending who Kathy votes for between them.
All Stars had one of the most bitter jury's ever. While I commend Amber for her win and truly believed she earned her victory in every regard, Lex, Tom and Alicia were incredibly bitter towards Rob for playing the game. Shii-Ann was the only person I feel who voted "for" Amber and not "against" Rob
Alejandro Bautista agree! But unfortunately I don’t think she’ll be coming back. She’s said on Instagram that coming back is not completely out of the question but she’s “hung up her buff”.
True, but she lacked awareness of herself. She was huge at talking trash about everyone, but she was not a great player overall. She didn't do anything intellegent in Thailand and had little impact on All Stars. She is a good character with good sound bites, that's about it. she does make a perfect jury member though.
@@mhalbe1984 I disagree with you. To me Thailand was just a bad place for her because nobody likes for her for whatever reason when I didn't find her that annoying and let's face it if only she didn't assume too quickly that the tribe has merged, I believe she would have lasted way longer at Thailand. She was pretty well liked with her tribe during the early all star season too, getting pretty close with Jenna, Kathy, Lex, Richard but as soon as the tribe merged, she & Kathy & Lex were just too outnumbered. There is nothing they can do at that point. She tried to stay as long as she could, that is the only thing she could do. She did actually smartly tries to convince Rupert & Big Tom & even tries to convince Alicia to vote out Rob & Amber because she knew they were the threat. But like she said, all of them were too stupid and it amazes me how none of them see what's the outcome was going to be. Lol.
@@secrets.295 Both were trash seasons. All Stars was an embarrassment. Lex was a cry baby. I hated that season, nobody challenged Rob. I actually stopped watching survivor for years because of this season. Came back with HvV very impressed. I hate pagongings.
@@secrets.295 sure but there's a point where if nearly every single person you come into contact with over two seasons of Survivor think you're obnoxious and don't want to play with you, then the problem is you, not everyone else
Shi Ann made this season. If it wasn't for her, I think Survivor would not exist now becasue she was the only good player from S5 (Thailand) and it could have very well been cancelled
The best speech of all jury. Like WTH, all of you are trying to screw each other out. Why are you attacking Rob & Amber. Have a look at the mirror people.
@SecretAgent079 I can't really fault Shii Ann for voting for Amber...ever since the merge, she made no secret of the fact that she liked the way Amber was playing the game, which is why she campaigned so hard to get everyone else to vote her off...in the end, Shii Ann was the only one in the jury who voted based on gameplay and not a bruised ego, so I respect her for that ♥♥
She was not the only one. I would say Jenna and Rupert voted for Rob, rather than against Amber. Lex, Tom, Alicia voted against Rob since they were bitter at and hated Amber too. Kathy probably voted more against Amber than for Rob too.
Shii Ann was the only jury member who really voted for Amber and not against Rob. I'm sure that if Jenna was in the final two against Rob she would've voted for Rob against Jenna. Maybe she would've even pulled a revised version of Sues infamous "Snakes and Rats" speech against Jenna. That would've been awesome to see Jenna lose.
Log Chi no i don't think Jenna would have won against Rob. Kathy, Shii Ann, Rupert, and Amber would have voted for him. Maybe even Alicia would have voted for Rob.
Lex would have voted for Jenna yes. But Rupert no way he was not going to give her a million dollar vote after she betrayed him, Shii Ann hated Jenna so no she would not have voted for Jenna. Alicia is a gray area because she didnt like either of them but i think she would've given her vote to rob because she respected his game play more than Jenna's. Lex no doubt would have voted for Jenna, maybe Tom but I dont know because like Shii Ann he hated her too.
Funny thing is, the parts of Shii-Ann's jury speech that I always remember are her being one of the few jury members willing to tell Rob and Amber that they earned it and her telling everyone else that those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I never remember her actual question.
people saying amber played a shit game and that rob did all the work clearly need to rewatch all-stars again. amber and rob pretty much played the same game; except amber played a much more cleaner game while rob had to go up to people and lied to their faces. amber had a collaboration with rob but it was up to rob to execute those plans while amber can sit back and enjoy the jury bash rob and cash in the million. if that's not strategy and good gameplay, i dunno what is.
Shii Ann voted for Amber not out of bitterness which is why I respect her compared to the other 3. Rob should've won that season. Oh well, he did it 10 years later.
Disagree on Kathy not being equally bitter. It's just that most of her bitterness was directed towards Amber, so it wasn't as obvious as the other three. Reading between the lines, she's basically saying that Amber only used Rob to get to the end and never had any real feelings for him.
I can't stand Lex on this season. He's the biggest hypocrite ever. He did the exact same thing to Ethan that Rob did to him and flipped a shit when he was the one who had their torch snuffed. The thing I like about Shii Ann is that she's the only player in this season to not be hypocrite and to understand that it's just a game. She didn't cry,she didn't whine, she took her send off like a champ and she lost how she played with integrity and honor.
why do people like you always defend Rob who is such an ass and awful person. Even on Redemption Island when Rob voted out Grant and Grant wasnt buddies with him after the game people attacked Grant for it. Rob is so overrated in every respect, and is a scumbag and boring so not sure why anyone would want to be friends with him out of the game anyway.
And to one of my faves..colby..and eww jerri..it was all about what benefits him..but when he gets outplayed he cries like a lil 2 year old girl that got told by mommy "no candy"
@Cirvantes123 I love Shii Ann. Probably one of my favorite castaways in survivor history. A lot of people disliked her because she was so straight to the point. But she was always right. That probably annoyed people
Shii Ann did warn them about Amber on her way out and NO ONE did anything about it. They let Amber get to the end and of course Shii Ann was going to vote for her!
I don't think it needs to be said why Chii Anne has the best Jury Speech. She was respectful and was actually a classy player. She knew Rob and Amber deserved to be there. Rupert and Jenna also gave good speeches. Rupert had no animosity towards Rob and Amber and genuinely wanted to know why he should vote for either of them. Jenna asked what they would do with the money if they won and had no hard feelings despite the fact that Rob hung her out to dry in favor of his girlfriend and Amber would've done the same. Tom, Lex, Alysha, and Kathy were bitter and hypocritical that Rob and Amber outplayed them. Tom lied to Rob and approached Rupert to get rid of Rob. Lex pulled the same shit with three other people and used the same excuse Rob did but had less honorable goals: help himself vs Rob maintaining loyalty. Alysha was just a bitch who bossed everyone around and honestly should've been gone a lot sooner. And Kathy threw one of the challenges in order to prove loyalty to Chapera when they merged. Chi Ann, Rupert, and Jenna are the best losers. The rest are bitter and sore losers
Its funny she is the least bitter, but also funny how Tom and Alicia who were both bitter were to dumb to go with her when she pointed out Rob and Amber were running shit
@Debachi Have you seen Rupert's question to Rob and Amber, he doesnt bitch at them at all, he actually thanks them for getting him further into the game than he though, and has a bit of a laugh with Bostom Rob.
I'd like to point out to the other commenters that no Survivor has EVER won the votes from a jury that didn't like or respect them. Lex, Kathy, Tom, Alicia; sure they were mad, but they had every right to be. Boston Rob, a player I have always had mixed feelings about, did not play a good social game this season. He mocked and embarrassed people on their way out of the game, he tried way too hard to make everything personal, and he was just plain unlikeable. He wasn't Russell bad, but he was still a great example of how NOT to treat a jury.
Raphael Basile But Rob almost won this season. He lost because of Shi-Ann's vote. If Shi-Ann voted him he would have won. Russell will never be able to do that. Rob disrespected a lot of people in Redemption Island season and yet he still won. Tony still won in Cagayan despite him being dub as Russell 2.0 and have lots of jury mad at him. They trashes Tony (Trish even cried and was so emotional) in the FTC but still voted for him. He won in 8-1 vote. Chris still won Vanuatu despite the jury being bitter at him. Todd did disrespect JR and PG, and talk bad about other castaways in China and they still voted him to win. It happens a lot of times already.
mae_ash There's a difference between like and respect. A majority of players didn't like the ones you mentioned, but still respected their gameplay enough to give them the victory. Rob didn't have that here, hence why he didn't win. Sorry, but in Survivor, "almost" means nothing.
I believe that personal feelings came to play as well. Let us remember that this is the very first season where they had returning players, and most of these people know each other very well since it was still a small community of survivors. They have been to reunions and charity works together and to have them play a season together given the outcome, we have to give them a little bit of understanding why some of them were bitter or hurt.
Thank you. I have been saying this about Rob for years but his fans always point out to his RI win as some sort of proof of how awesome he is, despite the fact it took him FOUR tries to win whereas most Survivor winners it only takes them one. I also take offense at the fact that RI was "reparations" for his loss in All Stars. Rob is not owed anything from his loss in AS. He lost fair and square. The only reason why he won in RI is because the producers had a boner for him and Russell and invented the lamest twist to ensure they lasted.
Stop with the hate for Amber. Just because Amber was less cocky and in-your-face about it, doesn't mean she wasn't just as important in the game. As the jury said, they BOTH did the same things.
Shii Ann is not a good Survivor player, but she definitely is entertaining and kept it classy, especially during All-Stars, where she was a breath of fresh air on that hot mess bitter jury. Glad Amber gave her the car :)
Did I just read someone saying this season was scripted? Yeah do your research. People are still not talking 10 years later after this season. Doesn't seem scripted.
@ExpectoPatronum100 Yeah...unlike most of the jury, who cast their votes out of anger and bitterness, she voted for who she felt played the best game, regardless of any personal feelings she might have had...she gets my respect for that
@TyDrescher I would have viewed her as a hero after Thailand. Sure, she turned against her tribe but only because of their terrible attitudes and racism towards her. She was the scrappy, likeable underdog and the one entertaining thing about the Thailand season.
Shii Ann really thinks Amber dominanted this game. Although it didn’t matter for Rob he kinda got robbed he played imo the best winning game for a runner up
The problem is that most people point out the flaws in others while thinking themselves better that others and they can't stand when the proverbial mirror is put right on their faces. Rupert is proof of this. Since you brought up the stealing of the shoes, remember in All Stars where he tried to put someone in a bad loight just because they were a better provider then he (if I remember well it was Ethan)? I don't like Candice, but at least she had balls to think for herself.
@BigEragon Rupert was also a bitter loser. He tore at the Scoutmaster in Pearl Islands because he expected her to act "as befittting her job", he bitched at Rob and Amber for betraying him and he bitched at Parvarti and Russell for turning on him when he cut Candice's, Cire's and Amanda's throuts so quickly. If He would have listened to either Shii Ann or Sandra he wouldn't have ended up in that same position over and over again. Shii Ann is a favorite of mine because of her humility.
Which begs the questions why she was there instead of Shii Ann, Vecepia, or Lil the Scoutmaster. They would've either been much better candidates then her. They got rid of the wrong people. James, JT, Colby and Rupert just wanted someone equally inept!
@yankeessuck309 Yeah Vecepia is pretty low on my list to. I still dont like coatail riders like Amber but yeah Vecepia is arguably the worst winner ever. For me, some really good winners are: Richard, Chris, Bob C., Yul Kwon and Boston Rob, and ethan to. Other than Rob, my favourite winner is Aras. What did you think of him? A lot of different opinions on Aras, its too bad he never came back. And why is Earl so bad, I didnt see his season in Fiji.
It's funny... If Tom would've kept Sugar and tried to make amends to Stephanie he wouldn't have ended up on the shit end of the proverbial stick. Screwing Cirie was his last ditch effort to seem like he had control and no one bought it! Allying himself with James and JT was just stupid as JT was too dependant on luck and strength and James thought he (like Amanda) could rely on old alliances and really sucked socially that time around.
@dillyboy21 How exactly is Amber better than Rob??? She won because of a bitter Jury. And Rob was the one who saved her ass. She is generally accepted as the worst winner ever (even worst than Natalie White). Rob on the other hand, is now the best player ever. He even beat Russell. So again how is Amber better than Rob?
No Rob she would not be there if it were not for you. She would of been voted out with the tribe switch. If it was not for you saving her ass. Rob should of won this season not Amber.
he was bitter in heroes and the pearl islands. but, as much as i dislike him, i have to be fair. candice had already turned on him. he didnt turn on cirie, tom screwed her witht he idol. and he voted with amanda
I hated James, Rupert and Colby. Colby gave up in HvV and was a douche and a hypocrite along with Rupert to Candice who did nothing wrong. She was just trying to further herself in the game because she new Rupert, Amanda and Colby were lying to her and would vote her off before Sandra. Rupert is bitter, hypocritical (remember when he stole the Morgan tribe's shoes) and a selfish and aggressive human who should work with children- even the contestants hate him. And James shouldnt have come back
I respect Shii-Ann but I don’t know what is worse, being a bitter jury, or having so little sense of the game that you think Amber actually deserves the win.
I think Rob should’ve won but amber still played a good game. She did everything Rob did but in such a way that didn’t make herself a target. Flying under the radar is still a viable strategy and I don’t think it was an undeserved win, even if i think Rob played better.
I love Shii-Ann but to act like she's any less smarmy, smug, and self-absorbed than Lex, Alicia, and especially Kathy is laughable. You can't be betrayed if you have no allies.
Shi Ann was allies with Jenna and Kathy and Lex but they fell short. She may not have been betrayed but she definetly got treated the most unfairly. And Shi Ann is far less self smarmy, smug and self-absorbed as Lex and Alicia.
finally someone who agrees, pre-merge boots should not be brought back, although francesca was brought back for becoming the 1st person ever to go to redemption island, and colton was one of the most hated players of his season, monica had an nfl husband, bobby jon was bobby jon. but hell no did boston rob or shii ann deserve to come back
You do realize Rob's considered the best of all time? This statement includes more idiocy then any other Survivor based statement. Actually I read something about James Clement not being a physical competitor is the most stupid but this is defiantly a jaw dropper. The fact that Rob is smart enough to manipulate and bring a whole tribe under his command is enough to bring him back time and time again. Being possible one of the greatest puzzle masters of the game and proving in this season and all of his others, he is a physical threat. He's socially, strategically and physically an amazing player. Please explain to me how he didn't deserve to return, because of pre-merge? Many great players are voted out before the merge.
ok, so your saying that his performance in marquesas deserved an all star spot? i dont think so, it turned out good, but the main reason he was safe is because all the strong players were taken out early and no one saw him as a threat early since his dumbass didn't even make it to the merge the first time around. speaking of not making the merge didnt he do that in HvV? you know what, i think he did.
