This week Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum explore if all in Shimmer is gold, as they revisit Episode #10 of Smallville!
While the scores at the end might not reflect it, the guys fondly remember shooting scenes with Kelly Brook as Victoria Hardwick and talk about their favorite and least favorite locations to shoot at, as the iconic ‘barn sunset’ makes several appearances.
Michael talks about working again with former co star Azura Skye and similarities in this week’s storyline to his real life.
Tom talks about how you could see them still ‘figuring it out’ with the invisibility special effects this early on in the series and how we start to see the rise of convenient concussions in the show.
Let us know what you’d rate this one!

That's true when it's warranted. There are plenty of eps that deserve scrutiny. 💯 But there are also times where Mike is letting his critical nature of his own scenes effect what he rates the ep as a whole. Or he panders a bit like rating Craving a bit too high because of Amy Adams. Take Rogue for example. Many consider it S1's best ep and a standout of the series. Even Mike was giving it lots of props like saying that it's one of the best performances that Schneider gave for the whole show. But then he winds up wanting to give it 1/2 a rose largely because he didn't like his kissing scenes. LOL
@curtisdunn1854

@Renato Mento "best review podcast in the world" why? Because it's smallville?
@mops515
@mops515 Год назад
@@ryandeffley7652 Mate, he gave it 1 rose, not half. He said he was debating whether to give half or 1, but settled on 1. And he never brought up his kissing scenes when explaining his score. Also this is his opinion. He's saying how he feels about an episode, and opinions in a review are only worth something if they are honest. You're saying he should pretend to like something more than he does? He has his own reasons; You don't have to agree with him, but you shouldn't tell him his opinion should be different than what it is. That's dumb

Funny you mentioned the seat belt thing, it was an episode of Smallville where John is driving a truck and slams on the brakes, sliding sideways to a stop while opening the door and "undoing" his seatbelt all at the same time when I asked my mother "where did they find this guy?". I never watched Dukes of Hazzard, but I knew of it. She replied "That's Bo Duke you doofus!" Now I know how the seatbelt part was so easy to do.

This was one of my favorite episodes for the emotional factor that Clark shows when it comes to Lana and Whitney in the end. He proves his heart for good over all is greater than his own personal desires. The sacrifice feels heavy at the end when he’s sitting alone knowing he passed up his chance being again alone for the sake of what is his nemesis to Lana. I just felt it personal for me growing up put in similar situations And i think i learned from Clark a lot that we can’t sacrifice our morals for passion.

My favorite scene was when Lex described the point of the watch to Clark. I think it showed a lot about who lex is in that he doesn’t lose or that he finds a way to always win. For napoleon to paint his dead mother and bring her into his life “through sheer force of will” it relates a lot to Lex and who he is in general. His will and determination to accomplish whatever he puts in front of him is what led him to becoming the Lex Luthor we all know.
@flovi7522
@flovi7522 Год назад
The early episodes make me remember how much I wanted Clark to save Lex from himself. For Lex to turn out to be a hero. Knowing what Lex could've become, knowing the Cassandra/hourglass prophecy, I felt like it would've been great to see a sort of alternate universe take on these characters . Truly Supermans greatest save having nothing to do with his powers. Turning Lex to the light side of the force.

There's two scenes that I like and both were used in the opening credits for awhile : 1) Clana in the loft at sunset. Visually it is amazing and it's shot really well. Overall it set the tone for them for the whole series. Lana wanting more and Clark always hesitating. 😄 2) Clark takes the mace to the face and it explodes in slow mo. 💪

Palmer is the last name of a superhero called the atom. His powers let him shrink down smaller then subatomic particles. In the arrow he was played by Brandon routh. Brandon's Superman returns suit was later worn by Tom welling at the end of Smallville

I like the one scene where Amy catches Victoria eavesdropping and as she walks away she makes the audible comment under her breath “You don’t deserve him”. It was such a loud comment, I have expected Victoria to say “Excuse me?!?” … What a great scene.

Lex not only placed the cue ball where he wanted it to be, but he also picks up the stripe ball he's about to hit, moves it more in line and closer to the hole pocket, and then shoots it. That's amazing.. lol

I always wondered why Lex didn't think to get his hands on the recipe for the invisibility cream. Yes, it was strange that it never came up again.

My electricity was out this morning and I was so upset! I wanted to watch the latest podcast of Talkville on my big screen TV! But it finally came back on. You guys are always enlightening and funny regarding the Smallville episodes! I definitely look forward to every Wednesday morning. I thought the actress who played the stalker girl was really good. I hope you can go through the entire series. And oh, Michael, I hope your air conditioning came back on! Have a great day.

Aboot! Haha! Kristin kept it well controlled. By the time Laura came on, it felt like everyone wasn't too worried about the Canadian accent coming out anymore. I give this 1 Rose. The paranormal room was a fun scene. Victoria wearing a fully embroidered robe into the bath then dropping it on the possibly wet bathroom floor made the fashionista in me cringe. Lex's reaction to seeing the psychokiller/ stalker altar to him by Amy but maintaing composure when he asked them to leave was surprising. Also, didn't they realise that Jeff had to rub that rose oil or whatever all over his naked body? So he basically attacked everyone naked... how did Micheal miss laughing about that XD. Oooo first scene with Tom shirtless, I think! Yeah, Troy will reappear in Redux with that girl who is *spoilers* immortal cheerleader who steals youth to stay in high school*. Yeah missing the moment sums up Clark and Lana's whole relationship. Their timing was never right. Something always came in the way.

That’s because the stereotype of the Canadian accent is way way way overblown.

For future reference, hot hands or rechargeable hand warmers placed over the heart can help the body be warm. This came in very handy to me during search and rescue ops. The heart is the body’s blood pump so to speak. Like a furnace that recycles cold air into hot air, this method helps warm our blood.

This is awesome yall are doing this. I love the introspective from yall point of view as fans just watching the show. These episodes get me through dialysis. Please keep up the good work and ignore the complaints. You guys are really doing a great job quit pointing out things that maybe missed and asking questions they are usually glossed over when you're just watching the TV show.

This was peak Lex and Clark friendship. How Clark went to Lex to warn him about Victoria and how Lex gave him advice about Whitney was probably the closest they've been in the entire series.
