I always found it weird how Dante wandered into the Vortex World, unlike Raidou who was approached by the old man himself for recruitment. Makes you wonder where those portals in the demon world actually go to...
It's kinda crazy how small this compedium is now compared to recent Megaten titles. It's also insane that up to Strange Journey, Kazuma Kaneko did the art for EVERY demon, in the case of Pokemon, their were multiple artist doing Pokemon designs, contrary to believe, Ken Sugimori barely designed that many Pokemon himself, but he does do the finishing touches, but with Megaten, Kaneko solo'ed everything to my knowledge (could be wrong about that), that in addition to character artwork and promotional artwork Doi got huge shoes to fill.
Kaneko basically did linework for everything, down the line though he got colorists to help him out such as Soejima and Megumi. Also Doi won't be filling any shoes anytime soon. He'll never have the chance to design entire demon rosters for games like Kaneko since Kaneko already did the heavy lifting. Doi's job is to come up with like 15 or something new demon designs per game or whatever which is already an output that's smaller than Kaneko's.
Im pretty sure he did all of the designs himself, but the digital coloring was made by someone else in atlus. I think he talks about it in one of his books but maybe im missremembering something.
Waiting on the mod that lets us use Dante and Raidou in the same party. The fact that both appear in the compendium seems to be a good sign that it’s possible.
Thanks this video was helpful. I was stuck at 99% after fusing Thor and wondering what I missed. I couldn't figure it out from reading guides so I decided to watch this and go through my compendium with you. Turns out I was missing Jinn. I recruited Jinn, let him evolve and didn't get to register him once somehow. So lesson learned, I got 100% now and hopefully this helps others!
First of all, congrats on getting 100% in the compendium, BuffMaister 👍 Awesome work. Second of all, and of equal importance, how did you get Raidou and Dante in the same compendium? Is it possible that on the second playthrough that we can switch between Maniax and Chronicles mode in New Game+? Just to register them in one compendium I mean.
Does anyone know why there are some inconsistencies with the names in SMT in general? I know some are the chinese names and others the japanese name. For example Byakko-Baihu. Sun Wukong-Seiten Taisei-Qitian Dasheng Xuanwu-Genbu
As for the four sigils: Byakko, Genbu, Seiryu and Suzaku (+ Kohryu) are the Japanese names, while Baihu, Xuanwu, Qinglong and Zhuque (+ Huanglong) are the Chinese ones. It makes sense to call them by their original names, but in the series they've been called by their Japanese names more often then not. The same goes for Seiten Taisei: it's the Japanese reading of Qitian Dasheng, a Chinese title for Sun Wukong (Son Goku in Japan) which roughly translates to "Heavenly Great Sage". As for why these inaccuracies occur in the first place, I have no clue. Most demons from Chinese folklore have been called by their Japanese name, but there's some exceptions to this, like Hua Po (whose Japanese name, used in the Japanese version of the games, is Kohaku). What probably happened is that different people worked on different games, some preferred to use the Chinese names and others would rather keep the Japanese ones, plus they didn't want to make the localizations inconsistent, so they relied on names given in the past games. That would explain why in some games there are Chinese demons with Chinese names and Chinese demons with Japanese names. I hope they use Chinese names for Chinese demons from now on, this new localization took a step in the right direction.
@@JohnGaming55 Yeah it's actually kinda small, at least by today's Megaten standards, course this was the first full 3D game for these demons (their was SMT NINE as well but those models are less detailed than Nocturnes). Some popular demons were missing from here like Alice, Huang Long, Mara's true form, King Frost and many others, but they would not get 3D models till Digital Devil Saga, the Raidou games, and some Persona games have unique 3D models too like Saturnus and Hachiman.
@@oswaldthedarkknight I just did it. It's the same as always - you put two seraphs together (gives an element), sacrifice the third one - and get Michael. I did it 10 minutes ago. Maybe your level is two low to control the resulting Michael. EDIT: You talked about angels. You need the other three seraphs instead. They did not change anything there.
Hi guys, I know that Bishamonten is a secret boss in SMT3 and you can fight him twice. If I want to get him to complete my demon compendium, am I required to fight him twice? Or can I unlock him and get him through fusion after the first fight?
I need some help I am going to try to complete the compendium and I need some help with tyrant fusions and metatron, futomimi (and sidequest to find secret bosses) and the other one that looks like futomimi but in a bad way Please help1
You dont have to do it this way, but I find it easier with these demons: Metatron: Fuse Michael with Archangel and third Abbadon during Full Kagutsuchi. Futomimi: Fuse Bishamonten with Aeros. Sakahagi(The only other fusable Manikin): Fuse Shadow with Earthys. As for the rest Im unsure, but I hope this helps
You cannot summon Raidou or Dante from the compendium. Which means despite if both of them are registered there, using new game plus, you can only have one of these two in your party, by recruiting them in the Amala Labyrinth, which makes sense, since they both are alive and doesn't belong to the Cathedral of Shadows. Still, it kinda sucks you can't have them both in your party at the same time, and can't have them from the beginning in a new game plus by using the compendium.
@@phillemon7664 Most people expected new demons as per usual Atlus tends to add new demons/persona's into their remaster/rereleases of games. However this game wasn't handled by Atlus themselves (too busy with SMTV I assume?) and was outsourced to a smaller team, theirs only so much they could do.
@@dantemustdie00 What kinda drugs were people on to think that they'd add more content or demons onto a game that's already had more content added to it/changed around like twice.
