What if you: Wanted a mixture a game that mixes the darkness of humans and god mixed with the bitterness and loss that warfare brings But atlus said: *I D O L S*
I have several questions 1: How did I end up here? 2: How is this actually good? 3: How is Demifiend smiling? 4: Why do I wish this was real? I don’t need sleep, I need answers
You wish it was real because it lives up to the name, and the promises it would have fulfilled, unlike a… certain something that I should really stop bringing up so much.
DemiFiend smiling isn't non canon or anything. His mind was unaffected by the transformation until he beats the fifth kalpa, and even that is optional. He had friends and probably a family before the conception, so he probably isn't an emotionless person canonically speaking. Also you know damn well that if anyone made pixie cry he would beat the crap out of them.
>tfw I only beat Neutral and couldn't understand what the problem was >until I read the summary of Isabeau's fate and got a severe case of feels as well
I guess it's mostly because of how different this universes are. Like there are problems with place this would take place in it - In TMS they give us not characters from original Fire Emblem but some wariation of them from different universe who just look simillar to that from Fire Emblem. If we had let's say Lin and Flynn in one room that even if they be in some special dimensions that still would mean that they universes are connected somehow and that would be hard to explain especially beause of whole SMT Axioms and Networks, and FE Outrealm and pocet dimmension things, I mean they could just make new universe where these characters would be live but then how are you going to explain how can you have both Marth and Lucina in your party? Also battle system - I don't think that Nintendo would like seeing Marth summoning demons so I guess that mean that you would be only use hereos and demons would be only as your enemies. I guess they could make it like in Shadow of the Valenia - You be able to explore dungeon in third person like in SMTIV but after euncountering a monster you be sended to FE style tactic battle where every character would have some weakness and elemetnal power like let say Lyn would be able to use Slash type weapons and she can learn Zan after leveling up few times but she is weak to Zio and Pierce type weapons. And finally story and atmosphere - FE is more light hearted than SMT it would be really wierd if we had happy Prince Marth and guy who become a demon after demonic maggot has bit into his eye talking about friendships and jolly cooperations - I know that not everything in FE is allways puppys and rainbow and SMT can be goofy at times but they are quite differnt and I don't think Nintendo would like to see thier beloved characters in some of more dark SMT scenarios.
You know, if they make a crossover between SMT and Fire Emblem, (and I mean an ACTUAL crossover) I would imagine the gameplay being more like the Devil Survivor series. That way, it'd be pretty close to Fire Emblem's gameplay.
Holy_Toledo "most of us" you do realize that TMS failed horribly in sales in both the west and Japan(it's Japanese failure being the reason they didn't waste money on dubbing it)
Shinjiro Hitsuguya Ok, lemme rephrase that: "most of us who weren't butt hurt about how it turned out." It did so badly sales wise because the internet was complaining about it being "anime" and for "weebs" which kinda makes since because Nintendo and Atlus are Japanese companies. Those of us who actually bothered to play it liked it for the most part. Personally, I liked how they handled it, because let's be honest Chrom and Demi-Friend would not make a good team.
Holy_Toledo not really... most of both the FE and SMT fanbase hate TMS because the first SMT x FE teaser included mainline SMT and FE characters, with a serious tone. what we got was a Persona x FE thing. Persona has a really different tone from mainline SMT but the character relationships are only familiar with newer FE.
Abraham Pancake Mash Really? Most people I know who have played the game in both the SMT and FE fandom either loved it or at least liked it. It's not a perfect game by any means but it does meet SMT standards with DDS gameplay and i personally don't think the Fire Emblem characters would fit in a world where you need to summon demons in order to survive. It's literally the best they could've done without just tossing the entire game in general. TMS is better than SMT X FE being canceled.
Speaking as someone who enjoyed Tokyo Mirage Sessions: This is what we wanted. Not bootleg persona with three physical attack types and some names going "Look at me, I'm Fire Emblem!"
*WHY ISN'T THIS A REAL THING?!* _AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!_ I've come to accept Tokyo Mirage Sessions isn't a bad game, but for fuck's sake, it is NOT the SMT x FE game we were hoping for.
Magnificent! I think this beautifully animated tribute not only pays homage to both game franchises but also elements in each individual game too. For example, I noticed a few familiar graphics from the SMT series during the chorus (e.g. Nocturne's Press Turn icons, SMT4's Smirk icon, etc.), which I thought was a clever touch! :)
The video is full of references like that. The panning shot withbthe characters in black has YHVH heads in the background, and the floor is actually a map of the continents with the Fire Emblem Awakening map markers.
I can imagine a scene like this. Ike & Demi-fiend: *talking to each other* Demi-fiend: *sees serph and approaches from behind* hi my name is-- Serph: *turns around and swiftly holds on to ike, screaming in horror* Ike: WOAH uh... a-are you okay? Demi-fiend: yeah man what's wrong? *reaches out to touch serph's shoulder* Serph: *holds on to ike tighter* DON'T TOUCH ME!!!!! Ike: C-can't... breathe...
P3 Hero: Marth from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon Yukari: Lyn from Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade Mitsuru: Seliph from the second half of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War Akihiko: Leif from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 Shinji: Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening (Of all people) Junpei: Ike from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Fuuka: Celica from the original Fire Emblem Gaiden Koromaru: Corrin from Fire Emblem Fates Ken: Roy from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade Aigis: Eirika from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones Elizabeth: Tiki Theodore: Anna P4 Hero: The Protagonist from the original Shin Megami Tensei Yosuke: Serph from Digital Devil Saga Chie: Tamaki from Shin Megami Tensei: if Yukiko: Aleph from Shin Megami Tensei II Kanji: The Demi-fiend from Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne Rise: Flynn from Shin Megami Tensei IV Teddie: The Protagonist from Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Naoto: Nanashi from Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse Margaret: Mido Marie: Louis Cyphre Rei and Zen: The heroes from Tokyo Mirage Sessions#FE
I had the teaser picture for SMT x Fire Emblem for the longest time as deskopt picture. This video (probably taken from Nico Nico Douga) is better than what we actually got and this makes me sad.
Monocat Persona is a Megami Tensei spinoff series (even though technically, the first Persona-ish game is SMT: If...), it isn't a *Shin* Megami Tensei game. Only P3 and P4 had SMT for the titles, and that was only put in the west for marketing purposes. P3 and P4 in Japan didn't have SMT in the titles. So, yeah
Two years ago I loved all the FE content this OP had, wondering what all the SMT characters were like After playing basically every SMT game, *this only got better*
TheBrightside, but seriously, it was such a let down... Tokyo Mirages is not a bad game itself but the potential wasted was so big that I can't help but feel disappointed with it. A Persona Q-ish game is what I had in mind when they announced the crossover. Sigh...
Turn 3: The hama skill doesn't kill the commander because you bought the dlc item homunculus, so you finally beat the principality Turn 4: Lucifer shows up and Megidoladyne everyone because you're playing lunatic mode Turn 5: The commander survives and summons Pascal the dog Turn 6: >Pascal the dog is here, so Lucifer must give up
I think in order to balance the gameplay out Ma- skills should target a 2-3 tile aoe. Or have the game play similarly to devil survivor, with tile based fire emblem like movement and fights being like quick smt style press turn encounters. FE and SMT stats would clash a bit though, STR, MAG, and SPD are fine, but RES and DEF would have to be merged into END or viceversa, SKILL would have to change to DEX or be merged into AG. Fire emblem magic tomes have similar elements to smt Fire, Wind, Thunder, Lightning, Flux (maybe only ice would be missing...). Physical damage would have to be split into sword, lance, and axe and implement a weapon triangle from FE or so. Maybe have gun and almighty be a unique element for smt characters and have stuff like counteratacking, dual strikes, and reclassing be exclusive for FE characters. I think press turn system could be used for all characters. But i'm not sure, i'd definetly be a challenge to combine these very diferent playstyles.
Tell your cousin and friends and everybody about and to like Tokyo Mirage Session #FE , aka , Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem But buy a big rolls of papers to write down the Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE logo on it to show a crowd of peoples about Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Becuase it deserves 900k likes and 85m views And make them watch the shin megami tensei and fire emblem crossover trailer that was in 2015
Imagine an ACTUAL SMTxFe game. Grid based combat where your army has like 5 total actions, but if you attack an enemy with triangle advantage, you get another action, but it has limits, like Nocturne or SMT4. And the kingdoms are run by figures like Lucifer and Metatron, and your main characters like an fe lord.
Nahobino would probably take Katone's place which would be funny. I'm trying to figure out which boss character would take the Rapping Kamoshida scene.
