I'm honestly pretty happy about that. She was the character I was the most intrigued by before the game came out. While she did play a small role in getting the proverbial ball of the plot rolling, the fact she dropped off was annoying. Glad we're getting something.

This is more than sales of SMTV on Switch. Reminds me video with Battle B2, who have nearly 10M, when SMT IV have 600k sales on 3DS.

@@nr2676smt 4 stopped recording its sales around 2015, a couple years before persona 5 came out and blew both series up. smt 4 most likely past 1 million long while ago. Also smt v hit 1 million in about a month or 2, that wasnt its final sales record

@@kaidene573 Yes. I only use official data. Sega usually posting lifetime sales only for Sonic, Yakuza, and Persona, or only on their financial reports, but only for whole series, not separate title. In the remaining IPs they only talk about sales in the first week/first month or they just say: sales below expectations without giving numbers.

@@noishhater9138 I get that they're trying to integrate stuff like that into the story, but I honestly hate it. It makes it needlessly confusing and some unknowing players might choose the wrong option and like the game less.

I want to see the original story of SMT V updated, tbh. Like, give Act 2 and Act 4 the love and polish they deserved, and branch the plot out so some of your decisions actually matter instead of Lucifer asking what ending you want at the last second. There's already cutscenes in the base game that would be organic route forks: Law or no when you bring Dazai back to Abdiel, Neutral or no when Nuwa asks you to understand Yakumo. I want to hear Aogami affirm that the angels have treated MC terribly, or come to terms with needing to kill his brother, or have something to say if MC's found this whole experience so traumatic that he wants to smash the throne or make a world for humanity alone just so it can never happen again. ... I also want a fifth ending for the original story, because I felt extremely cheated when I realized there was no ending where MC actually decides for himself what world he wants instead of choosing someone else to follow and being their backup when they die.

@@theozziepotatoit’s not really an issue or confusing if the 2 routes aren’t dependant on each other, if it’s 2 diffrent experiences/stories then it doesn’t matter which route you pick as they’ll both be their own thing and you won’t need to play the original to understand the new route

I know SMT series is not a story-heavy franchise, but the SMT V doesn't even have context. I played for around 15 hours and didn't know who I was controlling or why was he doing what he's doing. Dropped it soon after.

This is why I preferred to wait for a port, even when the game was on sale... Some textures just looked too low resolution for what the devs intended to make. Hopefully I'll be able to play this on PC at 120fps at the very least lmao

@@mappybc6097So…? Guessing you don’t know how PC works lol. It doesn’t matter if the game is a port - games coming to PC have uncapped fps or will cap it at something like 120. It’s only really, really old games that sometimes get stuck at 30 due to frames being tied to animations. So it being a port of a PS4/5 game literally affects nothing. You’ll still be able to play at 4k 120+fps on PC.

I had a feeling SMT would follow Persona to PC especially after Nocturne HD was released here. I'm glad I'm right. I like the Switch but the hardware holds this back. You know when you see it emulated at 60FPS.

@rotonek2887 SMTV came out at a time where it felt like every other RPG wanted to become an Anime Action game, so I appreciated the devs sticking to their guns and iterating on turn-based systems to deliver the best version of Press-Turn. Good mechanics, good music, good atmosphere. Pretty much all I want out of SMT. The new route will apparently be ~80 hours long, so that seems like plenty of opportunity to improve on the writing front.

It was playable on switch, it wasn't a Pokemon S/V senerio, it's just the story needed more time to cook. The world and models where good....just needed story. Still, I'll get it on my PS4 this time.

@@makotonarukami7468100% agree. As someone who both played Pokemon SV and SMTV, the latter was a solid and polished game that ran decently on an outdated hardware. Pokemon SV didn’t even bother to fix the issues of their game, and the worst part is they even released an expansion pass instead of fixing the base game.

Yeah seeing some of the more giant, foreboding demons in proper LOD fps will be nice.

Also it's probably just me but hearing the echos with headphones on, some of the words sound like "Persona" and "Demons" I'm probably incorrect cuz it's EXTREMELY hard to make out but that's what I was able to hear XD

I played the original on Switch too, I did enjoy it (despite some of the issues it had) and I might get this on Playstation as well. It would certainly be cool to play the game on a beefier console.

Yeah tbh. Having an Xbox series X (same thing power wise as a ps5) It’s just. Not really the upgrade I hope it’ll be. The graphics are a little nicer and it load a lot quicker. But is that really worth paying 500$ for.

I guess kinda like both. You can play the og storyline of 5, or choose the take her hand option and get Vengeance storyline. The og story will still be barebones but have the new additions such as demons.
