tourist can buy JR rail pass. regular and green car. (green is $100 more per 7 days) but well worth it IMO , we reserved seats at the JR ticket office and there is always availability
The one shinkansen area (toukaidou one, i think) you can get a similar pass, but it's for people inside japan. It's like a 4 day allyoucanride pass for the one area.
iPhones running iOS 15 don’t need to download the Suica app as you can add the card directly from the Wallet App. Also the iPhone will prompt you to add a Suica card when you land in Japan. Anyone wanting to have a Suica card as a souvenir, you can buy a physical card and transfer it to your iPhone which will also add the card fee to the balance.
It makes me smile every time I see u happy. It takes my stress away. Watching ur video makes my mood fully charged as well. Thank you so much for making me happy and satisfied. 😊
The fall of 2019 my daughter and I traveled to Japan visiting Osaka and Kyoto. It was a great visit that we would like to return again and explore more places. Wishing this pandemic and restrictions will be over soon. Enjoyed your videos.
Great video RION! my wife and i always watch your videos everyday after work. very informative and it's like we are actually travelling with you. you always have this positive vibes on every video you have and it makes us want to watch more! keep it up and we will be with you until you reach 1M subs! hope we can visit Japan anytime soon!
Love your passion! Japan is like my second home. I appreciate what you’re doing because your home and country are always amazing! And Osakans are too famous! See you soon sometime soon, especially when I can step out of my hotel room during layovers in Japan
I'm loving your topics regarding train travel. Not many bloggers and RU-vidrs who go to or live in Japan fully explain or easily explain on how to do these sorts of things.
Really miss Japan and eating bento on train. If the pandemic situation is getting better and I can travel to Japan again, I must try the bento that you’ve recommended.
I’ve never seen that heat and eat pack before but it’s a good idea. The front of that bullet train looks like some sort of see creature. The scenery of the river and the bridge was really nice.
Last country to visit before the pandemic hit was Japan back in the fall of 2019. Those bullet trains were so comfortable and fast! I WANT TO GO BACK IN GENERAL!!!!!
The Shinkansen 🚄 is really cool 😎 ! time difference between Nozomi and Kodama Shinkansen is one hour , this time Rion used Platt Kodama Shinkansen from Osaka station to Tokyo in first class seats 💺, can relax in a clean and comfortable seat👍, yes! have to learn how to buy tickets 🤔👌👍. There are so many different kinds of bento options🤩, even the packaging is quite exquisite 🍱 , so nice can enjoy the scenery along the road while dining, it’s great and can shorten the travel time ⏳, Mount Fuji 🗻 is covered by beautiful clouds 😍☁️.
Great deal traveling First Class on the Shinkansen and having a great bento for lunch, too! What a beautiful day to travel. Arigatougozaimashita, Rion! 🚅
The first time I took the Shinkansen I knew nothing about Ekiban, the different trains and the difference in prices. Took a little bit to learn. So good that you are putting out these videos so that everyone can have a great first experience!
This video brought back great memories of our two trips to Japan in 2015 and 2019. We traveled on the Shinkansen via JR Rail Pass Green Car, which we highly recommend since it's so comfortable. We traveled from as far north as Hokkaido, and as far south as Hiroshima. Traveling from Hiroshima back to Osaka, we had to take the Kodama, since it was a very busy Sunday. I believe the reason it takes longer is that it has to stop at more stations along the way, letting the other Shinkansen pass. We were also very lucky that we got to see Mount Fuji both times, as there were no clouds blocking the view.
Great video Rion 👏I can’t wait to visit Japan again and eating the bento boxes whilst traveling in the Shinkansen 🥰🙏Take care & be safe, love from Melbourne, Australia 💖
My wife and I once had a hot Bento on the Shinkansen. You have to keep in mind, that sometimes the smell might bother other people. And to be considerate of other people is very important in Japan. So if you are travelling on a fully booked train, I recommend a cold Bento.
Hi! Rion-kun, I really like your smile because your smile touches my heart. And also through your video's I could see lot of beautiful places of Japan, thank you so much. God is always with you where ever you go. God bless you.
Thank you Rion for showing us how to travel from Osaka to Tokyo via Shinkaisen and seats to choose to see Mount Fuji. I will do the same should i go Japan, hopefully next yr 🙏
Hi Rion, Enjoyed the Video on the Shinkansen 🚅. The Bento looked delicious 😋 and the scenery was beautiful. Thanks for sharing this adventure. Looking forward to seeing more videos. Arigato and Happy Halloween 🎃.
Shin Osaka Station, brings back memories while i was there in 2018 and i miss taking Shinkansen so much! I still remember taking Nozomi Shinkansen to Hiroshima. I miss Tokyo a lot too!
I always love watching your videos because it feels like were besties and im personally there on the trip with you :D keep doing you and posting amazing content 😁🙏🏻 edit: I also love how informing and educational your videos are. I've learnt a few words from you just because of this ♡
Thanks for the fun video and you make me feel like eating bento too. 🤤 And yes, please visit Hokkaido during winter and will love to see a video on Sapporo Snow Festival. 😍
Great video! Perk to living in more rural Canada, we do 3-4h trips (each way) as day trips. And that's crammed into a small car. When we traveled around Japan in regular seats on the trains even going from Hiroshima to Tokyo was nothing to us. I really wish there were ways to travel around Canada as comfortable as it is in Japan.
I'm so glad that Japan's state of emergency is over. Hope COVID infection and hospitalisation rates stay low so that it's safe for travellers from abroad to visit Japan. I'm also looking forward to going to the Tohoku and Hokkaido areas next time but probably not when it's snowing.
Such a great vlog. Thank you for sharing your tips and experiences with such joyous enthusiam. I wish you every success with this superb channel and many more subscribers to support and appreciate you. Well done. Hello from London, England : - )
Thanks for another good vlog. Missed riding on the shinkasen! I did use the kodama plat option before with a normal seat. Definitely worth it when you don't have a jr pass (used a kansai pass then but wanted to end journey in tokyo). Love Japan's heat packed bento, make for a good change compared to all the cold bento!
Thank you for taking us with you on your train journey, I really enjoyed watching it. I tried the Hippari Dakomeshi 3:20 in 2014 and still keep the ceramic pot 😁
I just watched bullet train in 2021 Detective Conan movie yesterday, and now RU-vid recommend this video and I get to see the actual bullet train in real world, it feel like RU-vid know what I watch everyday, interesting.
The views were beautiful 😍 perfect weather for a train journey. Sorry you didn’t get to see Mt Fuji, maybe he was shy that day 😂 Happy Halloween Rion have a great weekend! 🎃👻
Great job on your videos Rion. Not only that your videos share your experience of your travel, they also teach and explain how to get around in Tokyo and where to go. Very useful Guide. Thank you. ps-Can't wait until Japan relax the travel restriction so that we can go back once again. Haven't been there since 2019.
Thanks for this video, it seemed like a really comfortable trip! When I'm in Japan I will be definitely taking Shinkansen from Osaka so it was really helpful. And all the bento in that store looked soooo good!
Great video Rion! I wish that we had bullet trains in the US. Traveling is is so convenient and the ekibens are so tasty looking. The ekiben store was great with so many options! Nice video!
when i took the shinkansen from osaka to tokyo back in 2019 i remember having a gyudon , a piece of fried chicken and a monster energy drink, everything from a 7eleven inside the station, not the fanciest 10 am meal ever but it was perfect for me. Great video Rion
Everyone is always in a hurry, fast, fast, fast, makes your blood pressure go up and you miss so much. People who go fast don't want to see the sites, they just want to get there. Sure if you're on vacation and you want to ride the bullet train for the first time then ok. But then on the return trip take the slow train and relax. Slow down and enjoy the trip. Eat a bento, have a beer.
Bento always tastes better eaten on a train for some reason LOL. I'm glad you didn't have to brawl for your bento LOL. I would have grabbed the Asahi beer though LOL
I think for foreigner, JR Pass is definitely more worth it if you use a lot of shinkansen. I remember using JR Pass to go Nagoya Matsuri from Tokyo on a day trip and the next day go to Nikko. The only bad experience I have is that I have to cancel my premium hokutosei night train from hokkaido to tokyo because of snow storm and force to pay for shinkansen seat price the next day, and yet, was suspected by train staff of trying to cheat using JR Pass. Guess, trying to take full advantage of the JR Pass price by entering the station on the last day and exiting the next day, as suggested by internet at that time, increase the risk of this happening, even though it's within the rule.
i really want to try all Tokaido shinkansen services (Kodama, Hikari, Nozomi). hopefully one day i can visit Japan. thank you for the tips Rion. love from 🇮🇩
