I can´t really express what her song and voice make feel...specially this song... like a lait motiv in my life She takes me back to my childhood days when I got contact with my first bond movies Love Shirley, love forever
On this day in 1965 {January 30th} two versions of "Goldfinger" entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart... Shirley Bassey's version peaked at #8 and spent 13 weeks on the Top 100... While the version by Jack LaForge reached #96 and stayed on the Top 100 for 5 weeks... Also in 1965 two other versions entered the Top 100; Billy Strange took it to #55 and its composer, John Barry, made it to #72 on the Top 100... R.I.P. Mr. Barry {1933 - 2011} and Mr. Strange {1930 - 2012}...
she is actually a godess she must have been in her late 60s here and still looking absolutely gorgeous... and that force of nature she has... she is the definitive belter for me :)
She not only sings with command but she when she sings a song she owns it. Why is it the most powerful singers come out of a small country called wales ... Tom Jones, Bonnie Tyler and The Diva of Divas according to Simon Cowell ... Shirley Bassey.
@CarlosAlbertoxy Fala a verdade: Que show de interpretação! Que voz! Que afinação! O carequinha atrás dela é o tecladista do Paul Maccartney...
IMPONENTE! METIDA! GLAMOROSA! PODEROSA!CHARMOSA! EXCLUSIVA! LINDA! SUPERIOR! QUE MISTURA... SÓ PODIA SER "DAME" SHIRLEY BASSEY!! FENOMENAL... ESSA VOZ É PARA QUE ESSAS GALINHAS TAGARELAS DE HOJE EM DIA SINTAM VERGANHA!!!
Wrong, Rosannasfriend...Hudson won many awards for Dreamgirls and Grammys for best R&B female vocal last year. Also Simon has been wrong a LOT..he is obsessed with LOOKS, we all know that ..ie. Leona Lewis, Il Divo ?? Ugh , 4 good looking dudes " sing " opera ..Lewis is good but not all That ...If Bassey wouldn't sing every song like its a Bond Theme then maybe I could stomach her...she has a voice but just detroys the songs she covers...You CAN'T improve Hey Jude & Something by the Beatles !
Simon Cowell wouldn't know a good singer if she walked up to him and slapped him on the face !! Don't forget he told Jennifer Hudson that she was "out of her league" in the competition on Idol..so she just said , whatever and won an OSCAR for her performance in Dreamgirls ...!! Bassey wouldn't get beyond the first audition with that god awful voice ...PUHleeez ..spare me
