I'm so happy Shirley performed at 2013 Oscars. It has been so many years since I have seen her on American T.V. She is absolutely beautiful and her singing voice was powerful as she belted out Goldfinger.I was a young girl when she first sang that 007 movie theme and that is the only song from my childhood that left a deep and unforgettable impression on my mind.No one could have sang Goldfinger the way she did. I truly admire this lady's talent. She is timeless and forever like a rare diamond

Dame Shirley did perform at the Diamond Jubilee. I have uploaded the clip. Unfortunately, USA ABC TV didn't include her performance. Bassey looked beautiful and was in top vocal form. Even if the younger USA generation didn't know who she was, they would recognize the James Bond Song, Diamonds Are Forever, and all would agree that this dame who will be celebrating her on 60 years jubilee in 2013, is still one powerful singer
She is so cooool and sexy, with a great sense of humour. What a wonderful vivacious lady. When she sings she really cuts lose and let's it fly, it's quite inspiring. Loved this video, watching her laugh and carry on was a lot of fun. I've been in design and seen people with very little glam but lots of money living in glam pads, it's actually quite obnoxious. Dame Bassey's personality and her decor really do match. That was nice to see as it is actually quite rare. She really is one of a kind.

When I turned 21 years old in 1965 I was given a record voucher and got a Shirley Bassey LP record. Then when she came to Sun City in Johannesburg in 20 something I flew from Durban alone, was put up with the gardener of the Sun City grounds to see her, as I had no accommodation and was prepared to sleep in my car. I came back on a high after her show and never came down for days. Tootie.
