The ability of America to make small, highly capable fighters compared to Russia and China's large fighters is striking. A lot of this is due to miniaturization of small yet powerful electronics and small yet very, very, powerful engines. American pilots are the ace in the hole for America, they have much better training and more flight time then their potential opponents. Then there is the better software that accompanies each aircraft, The Russians have always had a shortage of competent software engineers and China is only a little better. The western nations are far ahead in technology due to the freedom of western democracies.

the f35 is not the only one to beat the su. Yes the su is an outstanding aircraft and apples to apple is better than the f22 but, and its a big but, no pun intended, If you cant see it, you cant shoot it and there in is the difference. While the su is a more maneuverable aircraft the the f22 perhaps, the problem is the pilot of the su wont know the f22 is in the area until it is blown up. So the question is do you want to fly a plane in combat that the other side can see, or the one that the other side cant see.

This plane shouldn't replace the A10 Warthog. The A10 is one hell of a ground support aircraft. Replacing it would be a BIG loss. Let the F35 do its stealth thing. The A10 doesn't need it and is probably cheaper to build.

The newest F-35s have a completely new internal structure not even close to the original structure. Its a much better and different aircraft. It's really a very advanced force that is really magical for the pilots to do maneuvering that can't be done with the original aircraft without tearing it apart and falling from the sky .

I think that is the unsung hero of this comparison. There hasn't been a fighter this mass produced since the propeller planes of WW2. Add to this the fact the F-35 can be exported to friendly nations, it significantly lowers production and maintenance costs while increasing spare part availability.

I'd like to know where that 3 dozen figure came from? I tried to get an accurate figure for how many SU-57'S there are and the best I could find was 15 max, with 9 operational, 8 after the 1 Ukraine hit.
The way that it was destroyed has nothing to do with its combat effectiveness and you can be lucky and hit some of these aircraft in the way that this one was taken out. Even the F-22 the b21 anything that you want to name can be neutralized on the ground and even in the air in the military they have a saying sometimes you just get lucky.

This is the dumbest, most uninformed video I've seen in a while. The SU-57 is comparable to the F-22, NOT the F-35. SU-57 is an air superiority fighter like the F-22. F-35 is a ground strike fighter that does air-to-air combat as an aside, only to protect itself and its mission. Stealth is the only thing the F-35 has in common with the F-22 and the SU-57 though on the latter, it seems it not really all that stealthy.

I really doubt you have all the specs on this SUE 57 and those planes haven't left Russia to be able to capture so it could be gone thru with a fine tooth comb A FU35 can take out a SUE 57 if it gets up enough speed a '35 hitting a '57 could knock the fins off that '57 because '35 was made heavier with full running board fenders not just '57 fancy fins..

The SU-57 isn't a 5th Gen Fighter, everyone has been talking about it's design flaws, infact there are too many screws on the aircraft that can be detectable by Radar and its engines are based on the Su-35. It also costs more to build as Russia lacks the technology to make proper Next generation fighters.

All the posted RU-vid videos by weapons experts or fighter jet pilots seem to indicate to me, that F15EX, F22, F35 and the soon NGAD, 6th generation, all can defeat Sukhoi 57 easily, or even drones, fact is so long as fitted with the longest range air-to air missiles, it is all invisible range anyway. No dog fights needed, in real dog fight, it is completely different.

For as long as the US commits to R&D and maintains the tech edge, and for as long as the military retains the experience and training edge, all others will be competing, spying, and duplicating at a rate that cannot match. That is our advantage.
