@@plop6759 tbf he kind of his, he went and had a run around with people who play rugby far more than he does, it was bound to end in injury. And you may find that some on here with negative comments are actually sick of this guy representing rugby league like this when he is a supporter of one of the most detested clubs in the league for a whole hsot of reasons, like the their dodgy payrol techniques to get big named bog money players, despite the fact they never seem to break the pay caps each club has. It maye do some on here well to remember he's not merely being a comic or host when he's talking about or in this case playing rubgy, he's a Warrington fan and Warrington simply aren't popular amongst rugby league fans.

Thats right. 90% of players are full contact, with the rest being people with brain injuries, that can get involved in tackles at discression or play as the touch rugby League contingent. Still part of the team

I’ve played rugby union but the laws are similar in that you’re not allowed to wear helmets. There are scrum caps but they do nothing against concussions or neck injuries, they are more to protect skin and ears. I think the general feeling is that a helmet will lead to overconfidence in its ability to protect and therefore lead to poor tackling technique and injuries.

As someone who coaches (and use to play) American Football, full hard shelled helmets do not equal "no head injuries". American Football tackles are not like Rugby tackles (and both are not known to be soft by any measure). NFL recenetly had a whole concussion awarness stuff before pro Rugby had theirs (by a couple of years). Tldr- this could of easily still happen to Adam if he played American Football.

I would think that helmets in rugby would have the same effect that gloves had to boxing. Before boxing gloves became the standard there were very few fatalities as bare knuckle boxers would rarely go for the head and matches rarely ended by KO. Fatalities in boxing became far more common after gloves were introduced.

@@Humackdizzler Not really, rugby has higher rates of concussion than American Football. They simply don't wear helmets because it goes against tradition. American Football had the same issue, and decided to start wearing protective gear, Rugby chose to look at changing the rules to allow for safer play rather than protective equipment. Playing with no pads is still more dangerous however due to the smaller margin of error in the tackle.

I get it, but there are over 35's Rugby league starting all over Canada for instance, like the Ontario Greybeards to help fans learn the game, get involved and have fun in the team enviroment. It is a good stress reliever and a great way to keep fit. This form though could be a fantastic release for wounded war vets around the world, or even the Wheelchair form
