He says the Doctor will one day reuse old faces (like 14 did), and 14 has just settled down to have a quiet life. I think, when he dies, he will reuse 4th doctor's face and become the Curator of the museum.
That's great only this isn't that TARDIS, Ncutti got a copy of it when he cloned from Tenants crotch. The REAL TARDIS that was in pyramids of Mars is in Donnas back Garden, with the real doctor.

If the series was longer, this would have been a perfect first part of a 3 part finale. This is the scale that doctor who thrives in, so I just think this series could have been incredible if it was longer, with a greater build up. But I do think this was one of the best villain reveal in the show, if not my favourite.
It’s definitely among the best villain reveals in the show. The score, the pace, the intensity- man, those last five or so minutes are just incredible TV.
I was under the mistaken impression that Gabriel Woolf had passed. The man is 91 years old and I'm glad he's back voicing Sutekh because I can't imagine anyone else.
The doctor told Ruby that time lords can change their faces to hide away. Mrs. Flood says She is always hiding herself away. Her door is tardis blue with the number 4 above it. Mrs. Flood is a time Lord.
I disagree about the opening. I think it was perfect. There have been a lot of people that have felt so clever going "Guys guys guys I think S Triad is an anagram for TARDIS" the opening basically said "duh everyone knows that" making it obvious we were wrong in a subtle way.
But your telling me the doctor couldn't have accessed the tardis computer to find out who this very famous face is? No...he needs unit to do that. Using pcs. Ok.

Literally stood up and watched the last 15 or 20 minutes on my feet pacing. I would say the Susan triad thing was just Sutekh using the doctor's family as a way to trap him. Also, loved the reveal of the doctor not actually having his kids yet.
I think you've got something here. Rubies were also believed to preserve health and long life in egypt and were "fruit of the tree of life" in Indian myth. Something that would counter death. Additionally Isis's tears were believed to causedthe FLOODding of the Nile.
Another misdirect. As soon as Gabriel Woolfe's voice starts, Ruby's mum identifies him as 'The Beast'. Meaning, of course, the fellow below. But the Beast was in Doctor Who in series 2 (Impossible planet/The Satan pit) and he was voiced by... Gabriel Woolfe.
Not my theory but saw someone point it out on twitter that the CCTV camera was positioned "66 meters" away from the church. We know that from 73 Yards that you can't make someone out if they are 66.7 meters away, so if it links back to that I will be impressed.
Mrs Flood is the real Susan. That would be a great misdirect. I really enjoyed this episode though I will be disappointed if we don't actually get to see Susan after this build up. It would be great to see Carol Anne Ford return to the role.
When Ruby's mom said the name off the shape in the time window is called the beast I was really hoping we would get the Devil from Tennants era back .... I will have to keep hoping they revisit that story line....
I seriously want to know what Carla meant by this though because she knew it in that moment what or who is the beast to her. Is it something ruby as a child knew but now doesn't remember, she said beast not devil which to me is an IT not a beast or what a beast it was THE BEAST.

Gotta admit, when Sutekh arrived and his names were being listed, i had the same reaction i did when i saw Darth Vader at the end of rogue one; Chuckles of joy and a bit of mischievous laughter.
Well. Now that we know who the big bad is, rewatched that series of episodes from Classic Who… just to realize Russell has been telegraphing the whole season who and what the end of the season was going to be about. Exact words used to describe the Tardis, a whole scene and dialog almost exact in duplicating its reference… I’m sure there’s more I missed… but it’s been there all along sign posting exactly where it was headed.
I’m assuming that because Sutekh is connected to the tardis and Susan Twist she goes where he goes and he goes where the tardis goes which is probably why she kept appearing all over time. This is not my original theory I saw this on another video but I do agree with it. 7:21
Is every one forgetting in the devils cord where Maestro says as she is taking the song out of Ruby "..... this can not be this is impossible this is the oldest of us all" hinting at maybe one of the old gods older than Sutekh. Maybe I am having a bit of wishful thinking.
The reveal came inb Great Blue Yonder with the skeleton that was floating outside the space ship. It was an Osirian skeleton so the reveal for Sutek came then xxxx
Good job on calling so much of it! Even though I heard the theories before watching the episode, I wasn't actually expecting it to actually be Sutekh. And hearing Gabriel Woolf's voice (who also voiced The Beast btw) gave me chills. I do wonder how long he's been hanging around the TARDIS, and also, does that mean he's on 14's TARDIS as well? Or maybe, the splitting of the TARDIS is what made his return possible in the first place? Anyway, I thought the episode was insane, like, in the best way. There was SO MUCH to unpack in it, that I'm still recovering and processing everything. I really enjoyed it, and didn't mind the exposition tbh. It felt like a very classic-RTD finale, setting everything up for next week. His part 1's are always amazing though, floating so many loose threads and theories (I feel like every single Susan Twist theory I've heard of was mentioned in one way or another lol).. I just hope he can land the second part next week as well, cause the set up has been really great so far. I'm also really hoping that the Doctor decides to finally go and see Susan (Forman) after this is solved, like, even if we just get one scene with her at the very end of the next episode, I would absolutely love that and it will make the misdirect and her repeated name-dropping feel more justified. While I liked most of the UNIT scenes and didn't mind all the talking, I did feel like there was a bit of an overabundance of characters. Like, take Rose for example - As much as I love her and glad she was brought back (I'm a trans person myself, so very glad for the representation; and I loved her befriending Ruby, making Carla want to join, and mentioning Donna and 14), I felt like she was very much out of place and under-utilised here. When we saw her in the trailers, I was waiting to find out why she was even in UNIT to begin with, and there was just... No explanation for it. That's a pretty small gripe tho, all things considered. I did enjoy her presence anyway, and liked all the small character moments we did get. I thought Kate in particular was amazing in this episode, Mel was good and actually had something to do for a change haha, and Morris was also a great addition. Oh and, I'm also confused about the bit where the Doctor implied that he hadn't had kids yet - Cause, well, RTD1 era established that the Doctor was already a dad, the Moffat era reiterated this, with 12 having "dad skills"; And even this season, we've had mentions of him being a father (it was an entire plot point in Boom), so, that was a bit odd imo. Also, Kate claiming she had no idea about him having a granddaughter when Susan's photo was literally in the Black Archive in Day of the Doctor.. Though, it is the Black Archive, so I suppose maybe she forgot lol.
Why does no one understand how Susan is the doctors granddaughter. She's his granddaughter from the future. In the future he had a child who then has her. The only difference is she's born in the past and then joins her grandfather who isn't her grandfather yet but will be. Makes perfect sense. Stop looking at time linerally

There's nothing I'm aware of that *definitively* states who Susan's parent is (president aside), so perhaps she's the daughter of a child the Doctor has yet to have. The Doctor could have lost all their children but have more in the future - and Susan come from one of them.

I am sure someone else will have pointed this out but it was Ruby that said about Susan being S.Triads first name and connecting it to Susan Foreman. For me that is suspicious why would Ruby make that connection 🤔 Once the reveal starts The Doctor tells Kate to take Ruby to the time window, Ruby refuses to go but Kate makes her why there unless it cuts her off from what's happening outside. Could be to protect her or it could be to trap her as he suspects something is wrong. Also Carla was determined to go to Unit and didn't want to leave later again could be innocent but she is also the one to say The Beast. My theories are rarely right and so far seem to have been proved wrong in majority so yeah take the above with a pinch of salt
i think in rogue they couldve gone back inside and ruby showed the doctor the portrait and says, "who is she?" and the doctor would be like "I don't know, Should we find out?" leading into this episode a bit better
I never forgot that moment in Classic Who when we saw Sutek' jackal head and the Doctor describing The Osarins with cerebellum like spiral staircases. The new rendering with Sutek grasping the Tardis gave me chills.
The fact that Mrs flood looks scared hints to me that she's a god who is afraid of him showing up. Ruby seems to have been created by the trickster to counteract sutekh, after all if the universe is destroyed... Who is left to trick..?
Yeah, I really liked that scene of Mel telling the Doctor to shut up, especially after all the crap she went through with 6, she finally just got to give the Doctor what was coming to him.
That was an awesome prediction ngl. I wasn't sure it was sutekh until like the last second when I heard his dark voice. Then I basically knew you were right. And when his name came into form,holy moly that was a moment. Rlly cool finale. If only the season had been a little bit longer to build up better to this. When the egyptian dog showed up I was absolutely hooked. Also love how they mentioned the trickster and other gods.
The Doctor tells Ruby about regeneration and specifically mentions (paraphrasing) "we can hide..." What does Mrs. Flood say later when she enters the Sundays' flat? (Again, paraphrasing) "Just hiding out in my flat..."
There are Triangles in every episode, on the Space Baby birth Pods. They are part of the Wall decoration in Devils chord. The Ambulance has a rest mode which is a Triangle. Albion Logo is a Triangle. Rogue the Molecular bonder trap Triangle.
being a massive SJA fan I loved how Sutekh went through some gods/ assuming members of the pantheon including the Trickster getting another name drop. Not sure if Sutekh is the meeps boss but he certainly made the Toymaker run. I wonder if the Trickster might make an appearance in the finale. In order to sow chaos he created the ruby sunday mystery and maybe he is working with sutekh so he planned it all to release him and cause chaos. He emulates being her mother but he can change how he acts in time and this time he points at the doctor as he can either see or just knows theyre there. He distracts them long enough for sutekh to get to the tardis before pointing it out so unit panics and brings them back but perhaps that helps sutekh get in to get to the tardis in unit HQ as they are kind of different tardis'. If he doesnt appear this season though I hope and actually think there is a chance in future that the Trickster does return. extra thing you mentioned could it be the Toymaker in this video and while I think that is too soon provided they get Neil Patrick Harris again who had me entertained but also gripped with his performance in the giggle I would love seeing him return in future.
I genuinely got so excited, because I thought I had something right that no one had thought of, which was that when “The Beast” came on the screen, it was one of two things: The Beast from Into The Pit, or The Beast parasites, which feed on life force energy without harming the host. When the soldier said he was “in Hell” I LOST MY SHIT. Then, everything else happened, and I was just like “Ya know what? I’m never gonna make a guess on what’s happening again, but DAMN that’s cool.” Sutekh makes SO MUCH SENSE to be in the Pantheon! Although I think that The Beast also makes sense to be in the Pantheon, maybe as the god of chaos? I feel like having the Devil as the leader of the Pantheon of Discord would make a lot of sense. Also…… can’t wait to see how The Master plays into whatever is gonna happen with 15! Could he be part of the Pantheon? Could HE be the leader? Could The Toymaker have simply either A) collected The Master under his command, or B) been manipulated by The Master to collect him by intentionally letting The Toymaker win? Also……….. is The Meep like- a god of war, or vanity, or something like that? Or do they just work for the gods? Or are they working for someone else?
Did your hair regenerate mid video? About Susan appearing throughout time, to me, it's a sign that Sutekh is emerging. My guess is he's been entangled with the TARDIS for some time. What's interesting is that her characters never seen to be aware who they truly are, but the fact that part of the Doctor's recollection is shifting might indicate maybe Sutekh's influence is perhaps also in flux?
I actually feel like the episode order this season could be better. If Dot and Bubble was before the finale it would more naturally lead to the Doctor and Ruby focussing on Susan Twist. My order would be. Church on Ruby Road, Space Babies, Rogue, Boom, 73 Yards, Devils Chord, Dot and Bubble, Finale. But still I disagree with pretty much all of your complaints. This was a 10/10 episode. Peak Who!
Question: Were two episodes cut from being released or will we see the borg like Susan Twist (Planet Sloog) or Susan (Planet Varsitya) “she is a Griffin” in future episodes? On my second watch I thought this was odd as those versions came out of nowhere.
In either episode 2 or 3 the Doctor mentions its June 2024 since Ruby Road and Space babies take place on Christmas/Eve 2023 I think we aren't seeing all of Ruby's and 15's adventures together. (Room for big finish audios)
I seriously think people need to watch pyramids of Mars ( coincidentally in which the doctor takes Sarah Jane forward in time to 1980 to see the damage done by Sutekh , just like he did with ruby in the devils chord) then the impossible planet where the beast (ad coincidentally rubys mum refers to it in the time window ) rises and says he waits no more, then satans pit before re watching the legend episode I’d also opine that when the tardis landed on the impossible planet you’ll see it let’s out a grown, it doesn’t want to be there. Then when it is sunk to the centre of the planet I think the beast attached itself to the tardis which was strong enough to contain it until the doctor split the tardis which he was only able to do because of the salt sprinkle he did .
Fascinating. I'm definitely wrong here, I bet, but this is how I would love the mysteries to be solved... The Thirteenth Doctor is the figure who leaves Ruby (and it is her TARDIS that is surrounded). Ruby IS the Doctor's daughter. Somehow memory has been wiped from The Doctor's past about this after this happened. Mrs Flood is there to protect Ruby (like a "Guardian"). And one day in the future Ruby will get married and have a child... called Susan. Ruby resolves the threat - Maestro was scared by her in some way, so there is something in her that cannot be destroyed by Sutekh. So the "nightmare" goes away. I would love The Thirteenth Doctor to be the figure - she is pointing, in my opinion, at the TARDIS to show the future Doctor how the threat can be eliminated. And it also ties in with the major theme of adoption, which Russell T Davies has really picked up and developed this series.

I hope we get an explanation of how and, more importantly, when Sutekh wrapped himself around the TARDIS. I'm guessing he managed to escape his 'Pyramids of Mars' exile when the doctor sprinkled the salt at the end of the universe, but surely he couldn't have been on the TARDIS at the end of The Giggle as it was copied from the original. Unless. . . . TWO Sutekh's???
I really hope that they explain in the final episode why the TARDIS matters. Clearly, it was a tool or catalyst for allowing Sutekt a means for returning to our world, but I need some sort of explanation.
in the pyramids of mars the 4th doctor used a piece of the tardis to strand sutekh in a time tunnel for 7000 years, maybe a part of him latched onto that piece of the tardis
To me its obvious mrs flood is also a god, and shes rubys mum who set up her meeting with the doctor to combat the big bad. Shes literally been keeping an eye on her and leading her to the doctor
The Devil's Chord was moved. My understanding is that it would have been the episode immediately leading into this in the original timeline. That actually explains the "There's always a Twist at the End" musical number if it was made to fill in the time that would have been used in a cut cliffhanger scene.
Shot in the dark Theory Ruby is Susan the doctors granddaughter her mother is Jenny (the clone from doctors daughter) who is also Ruby's neighbor. Like Donna passing the time lord stuff to Rose. The timeless child is/was apart of the Pantheon. The doctor passed a part of the timeless child to Jenny and then to Rose which will explain the snow that appears around her. Reasoning 1. Susan was in one of 14th doctors specials (crappy reasoning I know). 2. In this episode the doctor said Susan is from a kid the doctor has not had yet or he does not know yet this works with Jenny because he from what I know still thinks she is dead 3. The reasoning for the timeless child being apart of the Pantheon in some and it being passed down in some way is because on another video someone mentioned that besides the neighbor only other characters to break the 4th wall are some of the Pantheon and the doctor (funny enough the 4th doctor broke the 4th wall) she could just be another Pantheon like the trickster but I want to stretch this crack pot theory out. I know this theory is out there but if by chance I'm right I want proof of it
Remember in Pyramids of Mars, the Doctor used a bit of the TARDIS console to banish Sutekh. Sutekh could of then placed his mind in that bit of console. The doctor then replaced that bit back into the TARDIS console. Just after that the doctor introduced Sarah to the secondary control room. I think it could all tie together that way.
Now that Sutekh is back, with the ties to Egyptian mythology that brings, I’m convinced Ruby herself is a god. Or at least, the child of a god. The mystery of her birth alone indicates a mythical origin, it’s such a common trope. In myth, when we're presented with children orphaned or abandoned, it's generally a sign that their true parentage is a remarkable one. Moses, Romulus & Remus, many Shakespeare characters, Oliver Twist, even dare I say it, Harry Potter.
Hmmm, I wonder if Ruby is gonna die or at least be misplaced in time... We know that this Christmas The Doctor will have a new one off companion, why would he need her if Ruby was still around? Maybe the companion for season 2 will join in the first episode and one of the storylines in season 2 will be The Doctor trying to find Ruby. We know that Millie and Ncuti are in season 2 but from what I've seen there isn't much Millie... MAYBE she could get misplaced due to being in the time window. Just a theory.... .... Also, Mel in the memory TARDIS was interesting, clearly something is gonna happen to her for her to be in that specific TARDIS. Harriet Arbinger was in The Doctor's TARDIS too so yeah, lots to breakdown.
My theory Jodie and Ncuti team up to fight Sutekh & 14th Tennant (whose being mind controlled by Sutekh thanks to The Doctor's soul being split so he couldn't fight him off mentally). By the end they will have to merge back into one Doctor. Jodie is crying since it's sad knowing she had to abandon Ruby to this fate and so is Ncuti since his body remembered like Amy remembered Rory despite not knowing what they were missing. The Tardis has a blue light (Eye) on since Ghost Monument... Spy Master was defeated by The Toymaker who is a minion of Sutekh. That weird regen into Tennant had the clothes change and we had The Master trying to become one with The Doctor, he's been infected since the time schism and Maestro had those strings being pulled with The Master's theme and controlling the Tardis. Another minion... "remember to be Kind" was part of Peter's Doctor's last words...but how did Peter know?! My bf and I think Triad: Donna, Rose (Noble-Temple), & Ruby. "Two shades of red" said by The Doctor. Two of them are daughters of the Tardis if we go by Ecclestone's logic of Rose taking in the heart of the Tardis. Ruby might be part god based on the music note reveal in The Devil's chord. The arpeggio. Maybe Daughter of the Tardis if she's the daughter of Horus since we see the eye at the top of the Tardis...
My daughter was super confused by the episode whereas I got everything that was going on. She’s never watched the original Who series at all. I couldn’t even get her to watch the Tom Baker era which would have made this episode more clear to her. Ah well!

Does no one else think the Flux could be involved here? (Obviously, I mean in addition to everything that we now know.) The swirling mist stuff around the TARDIS looked very Flux-like to me, and could it be that absorbing the Flux is what led to the TARDIS's strange behaviour, and/or being susceptible to Sutekh?
I think the ending will be a result of Ruby going back to the church and saving the day (especially how the episode ended with her seeing the scene again in the time window even though it wasn’t powered up) and I have a feeling she wants to stop her mum from abandoning her but has to let it happen, maybe to put time back to how it should be, but if not she does something that can stop suntech from taking hold of the tardis. I think most of the wlisode will be of her and maybe the doc, back at the church on Xmas eve Also I think mrs flood is either rubys mum or a time lord, Cara might be more involved as I’m sure she said it’s the beast, like she knew what it was, and before it appeared, her saying rubys mum is crying, like she knew because she was there on Christmas Eve, just doesn’t add up her knowing them, the crying part, maybe it was her and that’s how she knows, or it is easily explained but her saying that’s the beast, must be a clue. And wouldn’t surprise me if there’s another use of an anagram that will be obvious but hasn’t been noticed yet

rubys mother is tectaune. the woman in coat heading to the tardis is Tectaune and some point they have a meet and Ruby says who are you and she says I am your mother.
Not Theories, Just Won’t Be Surprised 1. Mrs. Flood is the woman who left Ruby at the church. She is not Ruby’s mum, who we may never learn her identity, but an entity whose emotional response to leaving Ruby imprinted all of the wibbley-wobbley aspects of the Carol of the Bells and snow on the nature of the child. 2. Mrs. Flood is an Osirian and they are either less exintict than the 4th Doctor thought they were or were allowed to return when the 14th Doctor spread the infamous salt that also resulted in the freeing of Sutekh. 3. Mrs. Flood is one of the others deities that were rattled off and she 1) is familiar with what a TARDIS is and 2) is less an evil force but one to counter Sutekh’s plans being familiar with what may be coming. 4. The TARDIS is suffering consequences of being duplicated so that 14 and 15 could both have one. The use of the Toy Maker’s mallet and latent cosmic power to do the duplication has weakened some of the TARDIS’ traditional robustness if it is aware that its consciousness is split & it wants to be whole or at least in less “psychic” pain. That the Doctor will need to work with it to resolve the issues. 5. That Ruby Sunday, although being human, is able to manifest snow and resist Maestro because of being slightly more than a typical human but not so much that the Doctor’s scans can distinguish a difference between her and a guy from a pub. 6. RTD is a twisted SOB who will reveal less than we expect but more to keep us waiting until Season 2.
What if Horus appears in the next episode? It is very unlikely but it would be really cool... Chronos might also be a possibility given the Time Window...
Sutekh was never like the Daleks or the Master. Too powerful to just keep bringing him back. In his case so far beyond the Doctor that he only wins through pure luck. Basically godlike.
Trickster I reckon made a deal with Sutekh to survive and join the pantheon and all the chaos that is to come in Empire Of Death the trickster can feed off and if the theory about Ruby being a child of the trickster is true he will use her as a harbinger to manifest himself and either double cross Sutekh or work together to bring death and chaos to the universe
Mrs Flood, I have a few thoughts on it. 1. She is either a TARDIS in human form. I imagine the TARDIS being cheeky breaking the 4th wall. 2. She is ALSO a Time Lord. A Female Time Lord being Cheecky breaking the 4th wall. 3. She is Ruby's mother. (But I doubt this for some reason. But Mrs Flood has Something to do with TARDIS technology. Her door is a TARDIS door. It is TARDIS blue, unlike the other doors shown.
I thought that the reason why the doctor connected Susan F to Susan Triad was because Susan was the one to come up with the name Tardis. So who else would make a scrambled up version of the name Tardis?

Also, about Rose's lack of doing much of anything, she directly addresses this when she says, "they don't let me do any real work" 😆(or something to that effect) as she is running out to escort Ruby in retrieving the cassette tape -- So maybe that line was a bit of a meta-joke? 🤣
rubys mother, her real mother is teckteune.. the final 20 mins were very gripping the build up was solid I agree but i wonder why RTD dug up a villain that was one off from 30 years go. the name of the episode was misleading as it didnt really reveal anything about Ruby Sunday herself. except that carla her, adopted mother kept the vhs tape and unit used that go back in time.
The Doctor did say this is your legend to Ruby before they viewed the tape. Also, Sutekh was such a popular villain and a lot of long time fans, RTD included would've known that and knew that he works well in the current storyline.... Oh and, Sutekh was closer to 50 years ago than 30.
Ruby could still be dropped off by Romania, Ruby could be the daughter of the doctor and River. Ruby is the daughter of gods of fertility. The Time good bad wolf has helped the doctor multiply time. River could of been consevide as the Result of Bad wolf seeing that there needed to be another god to Sutek.
Still not sure about the whole time window and how they could interact. It felt more like a holodeck so not sure why the amen guard was necessary before the reveal
