Great athlete, sweet swing. And very, very few pitchers run the way Ohtan can. I like how his calm Japanese persona hides such a fire inside. The modern baseball player in every way, I hope he has a long career.

He has such an envious frame. Not too built, tall but not slim, Well balanced weight, he is flexible and durable. The only downer is that he exerts a lot of force and his joints don't support his explosive snapping nature.

It is bullshit that the NL still doesn’t have a DH. This gives AL teams the advantage to sign a talent like this where a NL team would not. Mlb needs to get with the time and make the DH for both

Most athletes in Japan are referred to with the title 選手 (SEN-shoo) after their last name. So calling him "Otani-senshu" instead of "Otani-san" would be more 'proper' in Japan and make him feel more at home. ⚾️

Wow that's actual pretty terrible when you think about it. If he hit 36 HRs and had 101 RBI in his first 162...... that means in his last 48 games (yes 48 (not a typo)... he has 210 career games as a hitter now) he has 4 HRs and 22 RBI. I don't his average the last 48 games.
