Ohtani also played an active role in the offensive side. He had one hit and was given an intentional walk on a chance. One man's effort wasn't enough for a win.

Sadly..no, tragically the ''sabermetrics'' tyrants lording over baseball these days along with their brainwashed, maniacally devoted disciples have completely dismantled and are in the process of obliterating the once great and fine art and craft of pitching. To wit: Ohtani hasn't a single, solitary Major League complete- game to his name. He hasn't finished one start hence the "stat'' sheet currently reads 'goose eggs' across-the-board Shut-outs (0) 1-Hitters (0) 2-Hitters (0) 3 Hitters (0) No-Hitters (0) Nolan Ryan threw ''heat'' for 30+ years and over the course of his MLB Career completed more than 220 of his starts while hurling 61 Shut-Outs On one particular occasion, Ryan threw 235 pitches in a single outing then on 3-days ''rest'' made his next start; an effort which saw him complete 6 scoreless innings. The ''Analytics'' A-Holes and ''Pitch-Count'' Nazis are destroying Ohtani.

Probably not and after generations of thorough brainwashing by the ''powers-that-be'', there's far more than the physical element for legitimate prospects in this area to overcome. Here is a very short list of just a few guys who were capable of performing at the Major League Level - in the batter's box as well as on the mound but were not given the support: Don Drysdale Don Newcombe Dave Winfield Dave Kingman John Olerud(he was already being discouraged from the pursuit _before_ suffering an aneurysm)
