What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is MAGIC. Well, that is how I would describe it. Yin yoga is a practice that that allows you to go beyond the superficial layers of the body and access the deeper layers. This means in a Yin Yoga practice you are going beyond the muscles and right into the deep connective tissues of the body. Our connective tissues are made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form our joints. Therefore, when you practice Yin Yoga you are able to increase your range of motion, your flexibility and strengthen your joints. A win win! If you ask me. Yin yoga is more than stretching, we are “stressing” the connective tissues and we do this with longer holds and intuitive breathing.
When practicing always remember
1. Meet the pose at YOUR edge (gradually)
2. Find stillness and focus on your breath
3. Resolve to be still

This was such a lovely class, I especially loved the side body stretches. I can't believe it was only 25 min, this class felt much longer (in the best way). Thank you for sharing this with us:)

Hi shaunekka :) may I ask which of your yin videos hold poses for longer than 2-3minutes? Since this information is never in the title of yoga videos I'm finding it hard to find videos based on how long each position is held and I'm trying to work up to longer poses of 4 or 5 mins. If I search something like "yin yoga 4 mins per pose" it comes up with nothing, this information is also rarely in the description of yin yoga videos so that means I have to try every video until I find one that's appropriate. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know

Hi Madeline, I understand, and actually that's a good idea for me to mention in my description/title. All of my holds are between the 3.5 to 4 min mark. I do have a playlist called "challenge your edge" where we hold poses for 5 min each.
