You have no idea how much this just saved me. I made an hour long video and wanted to cut a part in the front down. I was contemplating rendering the video then opening the rendered one up to make the cut just so I didn't have to move 50 videos forward. This saved me a lot of time and headache haha!

it is somehow a work around yes, but its just strange that a basic grouping and multitrack selection option is not avaible. the grouping stuff i can understand, but that you cant select 2 or more tracks and move them all together is just beyond me.

Completely agree, but hey it has been a year so maybe they finally changed it? I haven't updated yet because I have some unfinished videos and I don't want possible compatibility issues.

You saved me a lot of work. I already added my voice recordings but when I needed to make a gap, I couldn’t move anything, otherwise it would’ve fused files together. I simply selected “Select All Files on Current Track” and my problem was solved. Thank you for this tutorial 😁

This saved my ass earlier today when I somehow deleted a clip at the beginning of my timeline and shifted everything such that it was now out of sync with the audio, thank you so much for this.

This is what I was looking for, thank you! My timeline is quite big now and I don't want to mess it up by dragging/trimming. Everytime I click & drag Premiere wants to cut/trim it down, which I didn't notice when I started chopping everything around. Great tip!

30 seconds in and you changed my life. i’ve been dragging the clips over like 15 minute stretches, and sometimes i’d mess up and accidentally put it on top of the other clip and it jus goes all the way back. 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah it does, but Shotcut is better than all those free video editor in Windows Store tho.

@@OrangeRPG OpenShot makes me want to tear off my own face and jump into a salt mine. It makes everything so difficult. So I'm hoping to get better at Shotcut, because I heard it's not as rage-inducingly bad.

Dirac_dydx OpenShot has so many bugs, it has so many rendering issues, and it keeps freezing and crashing all the time. I deleted it last year, and I'm glad I did.

So on my Premiere Pro, it's the "Track Select Forward Tool (A)", which is an arrow icon, not a bullseye icon. Just lock your audio layers if you want to move only your video layer. So happy I found this!

This vid got to the point and provided some solutions I needed. I use Shotcut for one reason only, my pc is a bit older and does not have the resources to run some of the pro editing suites. Shotcut provided a perfect solution costing me nothing, so I am fine with a few work-arounds and being able to get a bit of extra use out of an old pc.

Niiiice! spent 3 hours editing a video just to realize I was partially deleting clips as I moved them each time. Have to start from scratch again but this helps a ton (ripple trim and drop).

what if i have multiple short clips on 1 layer and I want to duplicate that same video track layer to a new video track layer. This way i dont have to recreate all the short clips and effects and transitions and such. Is there a layer duplicate function or way to copy multiples clips already set up from one track to another???
