Shotcut Lesson 2 - Timeline and Editing Clips 

I'm just starting out on youtube. taking on editing myself too. i can't tell you how many times ive gotten discouraged over the years. Finding these videos are an immediate life saver for me and i already know i'm going to learn a lot here.

Love the way you get right down to business without too much fluff. You voice is clear and your pronunciation understandable. You do go a bit fast though and it is often hard to see what you are clicking on. But by reviewing over and over I finally get the picture. Overall I think I have found my teacher for this app. Thank you.👍

Best Shotcut tutorial of 8 or 10 I've checked out. It's so helpful that you think aloud and so every little trick, e.g. have to double click the source to get the handles for I/O. Didn't see that anywhere else. Nice, going to work through a bunch of these.

After I updated to Mac OS Catalina a while ago, IMovie wouldn't install on my OS. I've been looking for an alternative that wasn't so expensive. Thanks to you it looks like I found one! I don't have the ARM gpu that it said I should have, so we'll see how this works. Thanks for the videos as always!

Im having an issue with my timeline being cut off at the bottom and I know im not the only one with this issue so please tell me how to fix

hey, thank you for the video! Can i ask- if i want to temporarily move a section of video out of my timeline without deleting it, and keeping it visible so i can insert it later on, how do i achieve this?

Thanks very much for all your videos. They are excellent and are really helping me a lot. If I may suggest one thing though, I couldn't see the timeline at the bottom properly after my initial install. I accidentally stumbled across the resizing bar (not sure if that is what it's called), the 6 or 7 dots between the timeline and the preview window, and by the dragging the arrow up was able to see the timeline. Sorry, my suggestion is to mention this, so people can see the timeline.

Hi. Thank you for the video. I found it very helpful. One question. I am using two audio tracks and one video track. How do I select everything in one track and bump it over so that I can insert something into that spot? I don't want to have to move each clip one at a time. Thanks

The timelime on my screen has no icons on the top. Even when I drag something to the timeline I can't get anything on there.

I used the copy and paste tools on the timeline when it pasted the video portion was down in audio is there way to move multiple clips up at once?

Thanks for a great video. How can I delete the gaps between clips ? I've tried placing the playhead marker on the blank bit and pressing 'delete' on the keyboard but nothing happens. How can I select all the clips on the right and move them as a whole to fill the blank?

First of all I must thank you for all your videos about editing. I have a query kindly clarify me, how do we readjust the images we edited once after transitions and filters are applied. For instance I have had inserted about 5-10 pictures one after the other,stretching each image at a required point of different duration applying rotate and scales filters with transitions effects and is there any chance or option as to go back to the first clip if we want to stretch it little further from where it was without readjusting the values we fixed earlier for it and without collapsing the rest of the images. I tried doing it but what had to happen was the first image keyframe values has changed to different values spoiling the transition effects for itself and the rest of images got screwed up. Please tell me if there is any possibility?

Thank you for your videos with regards to Shotcut. Can I please ask you how I can see the actual movie when I transfer it to the Timeline. Before when I did this I could see a miniature size movie in Timeline but for some reason I am not able to see it now. I can still transfer the movie and edited but just not able to see miniature size down below. Thanks I hope to hear from you soon. John E

Thanks for these excellent videos. I am new to Shotcut (being using MS Moviemaker) Once I have created a video in Moviemaker I can grab the front of the video and drag the whole video along then insert a title image (or another video clip) into the space created but with Shotcut it just seems to move the first clip and mess the video up. Do I really have to move every single clip one by one?

Howdy TJ Free, thanks for the video! HOw do I use my keyboard keys on my computer keyboard to go backward on the timeline if I need to see something again? I used the left and right arrowed keys but they are slow and don't change where I am too fast, on the timeline.
