Should a Christian Girl Pursue a Guy? 

Nice video brother! but i feel lead to point out that BOAZ in the book of Ruth, pursured Ruth 1st, repeatedly at that. However, Ruth (note to women) at the right time, made it aware and clear she was available! Also, during the time Boaz was taking interest, Ruth was open to him but she NEVER got distracted. Ruth remained faithful to her duties, responsibilities, and assignments. Ladies! As the man pursues you, be open but ALWAYS stay focus with what God has you doing. Timing is everything. Keep yourself together and dont get so excited that the man of God becomes the center of your heart. Christ is our center! ❤❤ blessings!!

The reason why the bible didn't address it is bc in the bible they didn't date. I've been in Christ for a few decades now and I have been around a lot of Christian men who were to shy and fearful to approach a woman and they missed out on a potential blessing. I for one don't see a problem with a woman saying hi to a guy or reaching out to him in a friendly way but that's just me. In marriage the husband does not/will not make all the decisions and he also won't make all the decision's in dating either. Nothing wrong w/ a confident woman saying hi or initiating something.

This video is very helpful. Growing up on a Pentecostal church, I was made to feel bad for showing a guy any interest. They made it seems like you should just sit there and wait for Prince Charming. I feel like this has robbed me of a lot of my years of dating. Thanks to this video I will try something different!

Thanks for this video. I’m 34 and single and believing God for my future husband. I told my friend of 8 years that I liked him. He told me that he wasn’t sure of how he felt about me yet so I was like ok. Wasn’t the answer I was expecting. Fast forward to last month, he finally told me that he liked me and he is attracted to me. That was definitely a shock lol so we’ll see what happens

I really like how you emphasize that it's not something to be ashamed of if you're single at a certain age that "the church" seems to indicate you should be married by.

I’m just scared of being left and heartbroken again, I know I was really clingy in my past relationships and it resulted in them leaving me, my last ex broke up with me and months later, he started dating his “then” girlfriend who’s now his wife. I was bitter and depressed for a long while but I’m just over it now and I wish him the best. I wish I would’ve been a lot less annoying then, I would’ve had a much better chance of being happier but maybe God is just waiting for me to change my mindset and to focus on doing my best to love and serve Him wholeheartedly which is hard but I’m willing to try and take as much advice from Him through you as possible! Wow! Mark this video was lit with absolute truths, very good context. We are at different phases of our personal lives and Christian lives at 22, 32 and 42 so advice relationships would definitely vary. I am a totally different person now at age 32 than I was at 25. Thanks so much for this video!

Great video and I love how you pointed a biblical comparison to Ruth. I've have been single for 4yrs and have watched countless videos on being a single Christian. None of them made me feel comfortable with the desire of wanting a relationship that leads to marriage.

I'm 42 and when you called out my age, I cringed. I don't want to be the one to let him know, but I have turned him away previously so I guess I have to step up my game and do a Ruth. Le sigh...lol. Thanks for the this video. I felt like it was a message specifically for me.

Answer: Yes. Let him know you are interested in him and make it clear. But if he is, or becomes hesitant let the matter drop.

I’ve been praying for God to let me find the right woman who will invite me to pursue her. I trust that the Lord will let us meet in His timing. He is writing this love story, and only He can give me the desires of my heart.

I dont know how to pursue a guy, I should be more proactive and, the key word..."change" my ways and stop being passive. I pray God shows me what I need to change specifically. I believe you are confusing pursuing and initiating. pursued; pursuing transitive verb 2 : to find or employ measures to obtain or accomplish I do believe a man should pursue a woman. This is going to show you the amount of motivation and determination a man has at accomplishing the things he wants and or needs in life. If he won't pursue in love you can bet it only goes downhill from there. I do however feel like a woman could initiate a relationship. initiated; initiating transitive verb 1 : to cause or facilitate the beginning of : set going This is totally fine for a woman to do IMO and will still allow her to see the man's motivation level. If a woman initiates and a man doesn't react you know that he isn't interested. If after initiating you begin to chase him you are now pursuing him and he may eventually give in but you as the woman have done all the work in the relationship so don't expect it to change in marriage. That tends to be the problem. Not that a woman pursues a man but then in marriage expects him to take the lead when he never did so in the first place.

And if it doesn't work, you can move on with your life...

A man is supposed to seek God about who his wife is. When the Holy Spirit reveals her to him, then the man should be confident to pursue her. See how easy that is? 😂

I'm 35 now, single. This is true. I pursued my ex husband for us to start dating, until he told me that he loved me. That relationship lasted & the dating advice I've been following lately hasn't been working. Watch me go back to my old ways.

I'm in my early twenties and have no experience in dating whatsoever (haven't been interested in dating before) but I started going to sing in our local choir about two months ago cuz suddenly something woke up in me and I wanted to learn how to sing. And there was this new guy who started learning how to sing at the same time as me, he's also my age, also a christian and has no gf. I thought to myself that it would be super cool if we became friends bc we're same age and both christian (there are no other young guys in the choir), so I started thinking of a way to approach and casually talk to him. It took me couple of weeks but one time after the choir practice I finally had the guts to come to him and we ended up talking for like 15 minutes or so. I got nice vibes from him and felt like he was happy that I came to talk to him, we were (sincerely) smiling to each other and even laughed lightly about some things. I was so excited about my feeling that he was happy to talk to me that I decided to text him (got the number through the choir group chat). But the convo kinda died very fast... I desided to try again later and asked him about his interests, thinking that if that wouldn't fire up an interesting conversation, I would just stop trying. He did tell me about his hobbies and asked about mine too, and I also told mine but after that desided to only text something if he would initiate a topic. Aand, he didn't initiate any topics... so I just desided to give up bc I feel like he's not interested. The problem is that I'm an overthinker and introverted and shy as well so it's just too hard for me to connect with new ppl at first🤦‍♀️ now I just don't know at all if I should do something about all that. All that texting happened a month ago and I haven't had a chance to meet him since that time because of corona (I just love corona sm😑)

Thank you Mark, i've subscribed to your videos for quite some time as well as liking them. You always answer the very questions that are on peoples' mind. Honestly, i always feel the sting in the heart where i hear the part where you say 'am actually ruining a friendship'. I believed i had ruined a previously very very great friendship where both of us liked each other before. Do you think there is any way to undone it or perhaps still hope? Ive apologised to him for making him feel forced and have explained that im not forcing. I think i do rly regret for the explicit honest feelings letters that i wrote him but i rly didnt do it becos im forcing it but becos i thought he wld like me to say it out. Maybe i was so wrong. Recently I've also told him that i will move on from the ministry (as we are now in the same ministry, since 4 years ago). But it seems like God is saying to stay on, interpreting from a dream i dreamt just yesterday. I know both of us may not be ready for now. But it so tough. In essence Ruth pursued Boaz , in the song of songs is about God and our pursuit of him , but it is also about the woman pursuing the king . Since the man is the leader the woman is the follower, to follow means to pursue. Also Ester and Xerxes .

I think more Christian women should pursue men it will give us a stepping stone most men can’t pick up on social ques and body language and they probably like him but we men will never know unless women take initiative action on letting us men know that they like us 🙏🏾❤️🙌🏾

What about the Song of Songs. She is definitely pursuing him. I understand the Song of Songs is about our pursuit of God but is discribed as a love relationship between a man and woman. I believe The Song of Songs is a wonderful love story about a love relationship between a man and a woman, as wellas how God wants us to feel about him ,and how he feels about us .

I'm in plentiful support for women taking the initiative or pursuing the men to let the men know that the women really like the men :-D:-D:-D. Of course, this does not change the fact that husbands will be the head of the wives (especially when they is married already) just as the Lord Jesus Christ is the head of the church and God is the head of Christ

Yes, it's good that women should make first move sometimes, and break the ice especially on shy men, should not have to wait till leap years day either to ask a man to marry her.

The second situation applies to me. In the past, a guy liked me, but I had a boyfriend at that time. I liked him too, but just in a manner of friends. One time I finally realized that I liked him as a potential Christian guy that I want to date, and by that time I had broken up with my boyfriend. I tried to reach out to him and, since we were not in the same town at that time, I tried to keep him in touch. I finally let him know my feelings but he didn't respond! I was so anxious but I assumed that his feelings had changed and now he has a girlfriend. At some occasions I actually feel depressed and I regret the fact that I missed my opportunity. But I have been and am still praying for him, and for my future marriage in general. I'm blessed watching to your videos and your advice is great! Keep rocking and God bless.

There is a Christian guy I like. Had a messy first date and have been praying for him since. I feel like I need to wait and then reach out later on. Everything was fine then he fell into a very bad pit of sexual sin after meeting someone else. I’m waiting for the lords timing and following his instructions to sit and wait patiently for now.

I believe as a Christian woman, that a woman should only pursue a man if she is lead to (by the Holy Ghost). It wasn’t Ruth’s idea to pursue Boaz, but her mother-n-laws, which I believe Naomi was instructed by God. The Bible says “A man who finds a wife, finds a good thing.” I enjoy your videos.

I’ve been using the power of invitation 😌 and showing my interest with my actions. I think he’s got the memo ;) a friendship is blooming! And I’ll wait as long as the Lord wills for him to pursue the romantic side of things. I know we both need some in this stage 😊😁 Something I struggle with is personal insecurities. I find myself wondering if he actually notices me “like that” or if he’s just being nice? I think I just need to work out some of the trust issues and lack of self worth I’m dealing with. Because everything is going surprisingly good, great honestly. The Lord’s definitely been using my doubt and impatience to teach me so much about myself and His love for me! It’s such a gorgeous experience :) I feel far more secure in my faith and salvation every single day.

I agree with a woman sharing her feelings with a potential spouse, BUT I would be cautious about pursuing or “chasing” after him. I like this guy’s definition of pursuit for a woman. Boaz was a good example but he was already interested in Ruth before she made her sentiments known to him. If a Christian single woman comes in contact with a Christian single man and they interact for a while, I think it is best to DEFINE the relationship. Clarity dispels confusion and misunderstandings. I laughed at the phrase, “Some men are relationally clueless.”😂😂😂

By simply being only friendly you will be come across as a friend or like his grandma, Women should make a clear statement or move such as a hug, hold his hand, sit very close to him or a kiss on the cheek. If she waits too long another woman will make her move.

My confidence was always very low concerning approaching women. Not to say i never spoke to women or didn't have an occasional date. But i always felt that i wasn't going to be any better for it if i couldn't break the cycle. There always lied the fear or rejection. Not as if ive never been approached before but 90% of the time they were always the ones i had no interest in eventhough I would still treat them with respect.

Back in the day, women didn't leave it to chance. Be it the proverbial "dropping a handkerchief" or just flirting with a man.... Men sometimes are just clueless. When I asked my grandma about how she and my grandfather got together - she would give a smart smile and say "I let him chase me til I caught him." She knew what she was doing!
