I have a 1970 VW Type 2 Bay Window that has been converted by Electric Classic Cars. Someone else with deep pockets imported the van from South Africa, spent money on restoring it, then loads on the EV Conversion. 4 years later they sell it to me at less than half of what they spent 😀. I had been looking at buying a new electric van and converting it to a camper, such as a Peugeot Expert, Toyota Proace, Citroen E-Dispatch. Any one of those would have cost me about £25k + another £10k+ on a decent camper conversion. What I have now is so much cooler. I have the look and feel of a classic VW, I get waves from fellow VW owners and people are genuinely interested when they find out its an EV. I can drive it at a decent speed, I can even overtake. I love it. I also have an electric motorbike which I use for commuting and an electric cycle. I've kept a toehold in the ICE world with a Honda CR-Z for those longer trips or tip runs.
