We are keep everyday in Christ holy. Cleaning is not a sin to if you want. If you read everyday was just as holy as the next. You are not resting if are afraid to to do certain things. That is being apprehensive.

Jesus IS the sabbath…ceremonial laws are fulfilled through Christ. And we walk in his righteousness

@@timprosser8791 Well that's exactly what the bible teaches until your pastor convinced you that it's for everyone. Gentiles weren't obligated to observe the Sabbath if they didn't want to and we're still in good grace with God. The bible distinctly tells us when the Commandments was given, who it was given to and why it was given. It doesn't get any plainer than that.

The Law brought death not life. The New Covenant broke the bondage of the law for the gentiles.

Well to be frank, God held people responsible before the time of Moses for almost all the 9 commandments, except he never truly complained to anyone about keeping a special day.

The short answer is, our record of sins were nails to the stake with Him, and the price has been paid in full! As for the Shabbath, the Scriptures clearly show that this Appointed Time as well as the Festivals or feasts of YHWH are to be observed, and specifically, the New Moon and Shabbath are to be observed forever. There is a Scriptural "calendar" written in the sky that no man can mess with, to which shows us how to find the Appointed times. Key point to show this is looking at the crucifixion of ha'Mashiah Yahushua. This was done in the month of Nisan (first month of the year) at Pesah (Passover), and the very next day is Shabbath, which is the 15th. The math clearly shows that the first day of the month is New Moon day, which starts the month and is a solemn convocation, then the 6 days of work follow, then the Shabbath, after 6 work days.

Again, I'm Protestan but this is straight up Anti-Catholicism. Always blaming everything on Catholics. The First Apostles and Disciples literally first gathered on Sunday then they gathered every day. Every day is a gift from God.

The End of the Sabbath Law - What law of commandments separated Jews from Gentiles? The Law of Moses! One of those commandments was to observe the Sabbath. Ephesians 2:11-15 - Today we are dead to the Law of Moses. That is the same law that said, 'You shall not covet' and also said, 'Remember the Sabbath day; to keep it holy.' The entire Law of Moses was nailed to the cross. Romans 7:4-7 - The only reason that we are not to covet today is because the Law of Christ commands us! Romans 13:9, Hebrews 10:1, 9 - Those who appeal to the old law make make themselves a debtor to do the whole old law. Galatians 5:2-3

If you think that abstaining from murder will justify you before God then you are living under the law and not grace. If there was one time in your life you even hated someone then you broke the law and God has to judge that sin. We are justified and made righteous before God only through believing the Gospel of Christ, not by anything we did or did not do. Obviously that doesn't mean you can sin whenever but if the Holy Spirit is in you then He will guide you to the right understanding on this question.

You are in bondage to the law. you obey it because you were told to and not because of your freewill and inner heart. That's the difference.

Jesus kept the Sabbath. He lived under the Law Moses. "But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law" (Galatians 4:4). As an observant Jew, Jesus was circumcised (Luke 2:21.) He kept the Passover (Luke 22:15). There is no mention of his observing the Sabbath after his resurrection, even though he remained on the earth for some 40 days. That would include at least five Sabbath days. The reason we find no further observance of the Sabbath is seen in the fact that the Sabbath and other Old Testament observances were abolished at the death of Christ. "When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him. Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day-things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ" (Colossians 2:13-17). The Scripture says Christ took the decrees out of the way, having nailed them to the cross. Therefore, we are not to be judged any more concerning food or drink (dietary laws), or the observance of special days (including Sabbath days) or seasons. One commentary states: "The word 'judge' here is used in the sense of pronouncing a sentence. The meaning is, `since you have thus been delivered by Christ from the evils which surrounded you; since you have been freed from the observances of the law, let no one sit in judgment on you, or claim the right to decide for you in those matters'" (Albert Barnes). The apostle Paul, by inspiration declares that the Sabbath day has no more significance to us any more than the feast days, etc. We do not live under the Old Testament system at this time.

Paul in Romans seeks to show that the Law did not make men righteous but instead gave them the knowledge of sin. Therefore there was a need for a new way of righteousness, the way of forgiveness through faith in Jesus’ sacrifice. He wanted his readers to understand that those who accept the sacrifice of Christ are living “under grace” and such would not produce a life of sin (as many thought) but a life of righteousness. Thus in Romans 7:1-6 Paul answers the question, “Shall we live in sin because we are under grace rather than under law?”

Jesus is the True Sabbath...

That was for Jews, if you keep any Jewish law, you are under the yoke of death. Jesus gave us Gentiles a new law, a New Covenant of life. If you broke any one of the Old Laws you would not know eternal life.

“When Paul and his party…departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and sat down” (Acts 13:13-14). The question then is: did they enter “into the synagogue on the Sabbath day” because they were keeping the Sabbath? Notice: “after the reading of the Law and the Prophets” (Acts 13:15). Why not the New Testament? Because the New Testament was still in the process of being written. The men were invited to speak, “Men and brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on” (Acts 13:15). Folks, Paul took the advantage he was given and preached Christ “that through this Man [Christ] is preached to you the forgiveness of sins” (Acts 13:38), Paul said that only “by Him [Christ] everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:39). The Law, including the Sabbath, cannot justify. The Law of Moses is now invalid and cannot save one, but the law of Christ, the gospel of Christ, is "the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). If Paul went into the building as a Sabbath keeper, why does the Scripture says he “persuaded them to continue in the grace of God” (Acts 13:43)? But because he was not there for the Law of Moses, including Sabbath keeping, “the Jews … were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul” (Acts 13:45). Why? For Paul said, no one can “be justified by the law of Moses” (Acts 13:39). But that was what they based all their beliefs upon. Paul preached “the word of God ... but … [they] … reject it, and judge … [themselves] … unworthy of everlasting life” (Acts 13:46). Was Paul a Sabbath keeper? The Scripture says no! Because of Christ Paul and Barnabas preached and “the city, raised up persecution against .. .[them] … and expelled them from their region” (Acts 13:50).

He didn't tell them to stop gathering on Saturday bcz it is NOT a sin to gather any day off the week. It is a sin to keep it thinking you please God by your keeping of the Sabbath and not through the sacrifice of His Son

You to I encourage you to Read the Bible Because Christ Never commanded To keep the Sabbath. Christ kept the Sabbath Because he was Born Under the Law of Moses .

BrotherErickDMarquez I know this is an old comment but I think yes, because it's not the book its the words in the book. As long as you don't add to the words or remove any I think that is fine. The book itself will fall apart in 50 years anyway, so it's not like the book itself is holy its the words. The Bible says study to show yourself approved unto God so I believe highlighting and making notes falls into that category. Defacing a bible and studying it I believe are not the same thing.

The Sabbath was changed or violated by Ignatius writings of around 105 ad. This was long before the Catholic church. I wish they would read this. Jesus and the Apostles taught to keep the "COMMANDMENTS OF GOD", of which the 10 commandments are the most important. . The "Literal Saturday Sabbath" is one of those 10 commandments. Rev -12;17,-14;12, 1-John 2;3-4, 3;22-24, 5;2-3, 2-John 1;6. Jesus does not change the "COMMANDMENTS OF GOD", and that applies to the Saturday Sabbath. If Anyone INCLUDING Paul teaches against keeping the Saturday Sabbath, they are a False teacher and a liar. (Matthew 24: 24) 1-John 3:4 "sin is the transgression of the Torah". Paul teaches a different Gospel than Jesus and the 12..People prefer to follow Paul, not Jesus. Every church that does not observe and teach to observe the "Literal Saturday Sabbath", is living in lawlessness. Matthew 7;23(NLT)"But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws’.

@@DocScience2 Yah's Word does not change, that is correct. However, if you are relying on a man-made calendar vs the Scriptural calendar, you should research this more to find the truth of the matter. This Gregorian calendar is the very thing that was put in place fulfilling the end times, thinking to have changed both times and laws.

Constantine (325 AD) DID NOT change the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday as Sabbath keepers falsely teach. Christians never kept the Sabbath from the apostolic age (33 AD) through the time of Constantine (325AD). Constantine merely made the first "Sunday closure law", since it had already been the day Christians worship for 300 years!

Deuteronomy 6:17 King James Version 17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

The fact is, Jesus brought all of the laws from the Ten Commandments over into His new covenant, except one - keeping the Sabbath. Christians are not permitted to kill, to steal, to commit adultery, or to covet just as the Ten Commandments say. We must still worship God and only Him and we must still honor our parents. However, a Christian’s obedience must come from the heart, “You shall love the lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ this is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ there is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30,31). Christians are not under the Ten Commandments, a part of that Old Law. We are under the Law of Christ.
