Lewis Goodall hears from LBC callers on whether Diane Abbott should be reinstated as a Labour candidate ahead of the General Election.
This comes as Labour Leader Keir Starmer has refused to say if the Hackney MP will be allowed to stand as a Labour candidate in her constituency, despite completing an "antisemitism awareness course".
BBC Newsnight has revealed that the Labour investigation into Diane Abbott over comments she made on racism was completed in December 2023.
This has caused controversy, especially due to Diane Abbott's history as the first Black woman elected to Parliament.
0:37 - Caller Natalie says she's 'actually considering whether to vote Labour or to stay at home’ should Diane Abbott not be reinstated.
3:25 - Caller Tracey tells Lewis Goodall: 'All this talk about the black vote, I’m not a black vote I'm a person, I have bills to pay…’
3:55 ‘Diane Abbott, she is toxic’, says caller Tracey, who also believes that the racism directed at the independent MP 'doesn't give her the right to say what she's said’.
5:23 - Reflecting on the situation, caller Kathy tells Lewis Goodall: ‘I think it stinks like a rotten fish’.
