Hi Dave Klappenberger & Son. I'd really like to talk to you and answer the question. Should I put two coats on the exterior of my house or just one coat is it worth it to get that second coat put on and I would say if you're selling the house, just put one coat on. If you're changing colors, you're always going to have to put two coats on to get good solid coverage of that new and different color. But two coats makes a difference in the longevity of the of the paint job you can see in this picture next to me behind me that where somebody brushed in the areas and then they rolled the hole, all the siding, the areas that got brushed enrolled are holding up much better this is this paint job is probably 30 years old. There is a significant significant difference between one coat and two for not only protecting the substrate substrate, but also for the longevity of the beauty of the paint and having a nice smooth, even appearance. Yes, paint does wear off with the sun beating on it, the rain and all that kind of stuff. It does start to lose it smell. You're only putting on three mil and we say well how big is three mil three mil plastic is really thin. six mil plastic is still not that thing. That's all the paint we're talking about. Not a whole lot of paints have put that extra coat of paint on there and it doesn't cost twice as much. If a contractor is doubling the price, you might want to get another price because the house has already been powerwash the prep work has already been done. The contractor has a lay of the land where the ladders are going to go and what he can get away with in certain areas. The second Coat is so much faster. It should be about 30 to 40% more to apply a second coat hope this video was helpful if it is give us a like subscribe. We always got more painting information coming out straight to you to see on the next one.
