If Hawk take anyone but Risacher at 1, I think Spur will pick up phone and call us for sure. But it'll not only no.4+8 for no.2, they will want Avdija in it too. We can ask for more than no.4+8. Maybe Spur's or Hawk's 2025 1rd pick would on the table, who knows.

Avdija worth more then 8th pick by himself,so they won't even suggest it. Probably they will achieve another player or Shamet unguaranteed contract for guaranteed contract (and cut him for big free agent signing). If they really want Risacher they will compromise.

Brandon, love ya and respect your takes. If I may offer some unsolicited advice, please consider this comment as a push forward. Basketball was never a 5 position game, conversations about 2 guards and power forwards and stretch 3s are all relatively current, the greatest teams in NBA history used the talent they had, regardless of position. The wizards are in an extremely exciting position, be the team that takes the next step in position less basketball, put an entire bench full of shooters and defenders out on the floor each night, all between 6 and 7 feet tall and make other teams adjust to us.

I don’t think the Spurs are that keen on such a deal - who know if 4 or 8 or even 12 may not be better that the 1 is this draft - I think they are more interested in what kind of swap Hawks may propose

In this draft the talent difference between #2 and #4 is basically non existent, you’re still gonna get the same amount of value there. When you’re at this point in a rebuild like we are, we need to get as much draft capital and young talent we can

@@Zoneread24 I do think sarr is the best player in this draft and if he falls to two we should take him. But this front office shouldn’t just shut the idea down of not trading down. There are more building blocks in this draft if we could trade down for 4 and 8 we could get Stephon castle and Ron holland and that really helps out our young core and rebuild

#2 & #4 aren't too different this year. Lets say #2 = #4 + charlotte pick. So essentially, you swap Branham + Johnson + Wesley + #8 pick = Bilal. Looks like a robbery for the Spurs.

I already have offered that because with one pick you can fell in this draft. More picks worth more chances to get at least one great player. Just if front office believes that a particular player will be an allstar (and other teams will draft him before pick 4), they need to refuse. However i don't think Spurs will agree to a trade with us or the Hawks, because they are smart too (and i don't think they believe in a particular player).

Not sure i agree to send Vukcevic. Baldwin or maybe even Butler i agree. I think there is another option for this trade. The Spurs probably will try to sign a big free agent, so Shamet unguaranteed contract for Collins (or Jones) is making sense.

Pick 2nd and Kuz for pick 4th and 8th definitely not on the table. We can get another lottery pick for Kuz trade from other teams. Trade just Kuz for 8th pick and expiring contracts definitely on the table.

Shannon Jr. is almost 24 years old and Castle slapped the glove on him in the Final 8. I'd rather take a big swing on Chomiche than Shannon at 26.

I'm sorry for this not so bright take.. I'm not the brightest bulb in the box... So I need someone to explain to me why would we even think about trading the most consistent player on our team.. Kuzma.. to get picks of players that are not proven in the NBA.. I totally understand that we are in a rebuild.. So I'm a little confused as to why we would continue to tear the team down to gamble on a bunch of picks.. especially in a draft like this one. I would be more receptive to this idea if the draft was full of unbelievable talent. Drafting on potential or relying on development hasn't worked out for the wizards. Or any team for that matter.. but someone convince me otherwise.. just my opinion

The first part of your question you actually answered.....because we are in a rebuild and Kuz doesn't fit the timeline. This team is about another 2 to 3 years away from being decent and by then Kuz will be in his early 30's. Ntm he will take time and develop away from our younger players. Now where I 💯 agree with you is why all of a sudden some fans and analysts want to rush to trade Kuz in this weaker draft. Let's be honest.......if we trade him now it's gonna be for a 2024 1st round pick. Why not wait to this year's trade deadline and pick up a 2025 1st which in theory should be more valuable.
