@@RadialSeeker113 no that was probably just the servers having a freakout with the incoming hate from having a tesla on a petrolhead channel lol and rightly so
What do EV's, Hype-brids and Horses have in common? Even if kept unused in a barn and fed, all 3 are still DYING, although the Horse will far outlive the other 2. These napkin-idea EV's and Hype-brids have shelf-lives of Ramen Noodles. 🤣
Love that Izzy is getting involved with drivetribe!! She’s very real & very funny! Just as the 3 OGs are getting on in years, there’s space for a new generation!! Love it! Well done Izzy!
Accept there is no interest from Clarkson's kids to get involved. And May has none. lol Would be perfect if Willow would partner up with her sister. Could be a great team up for sister vs sister opinions on vehicles. DRIVETRIBE would be smart to pitch that idea to the whole family. If Willow is willing, it would be a smash.
@@WW-wf8tu Yeah love that idea! I think Clarkson’s kids are a bit older aren’t they? Willow & Izzy have both got great personalities. Very likeable & fun. Both seem absolute naturals in front of the camera.
It’s obvious her being Hammond’s daughter but, the amount of mannerisms she has from him didn’t go unnoticed. They mentioned the steering wheel grip. There’s the hair adjustment. The end how she said “it’s a car and he likes cars.” I hope she has a friend that sees her do something idiotic and yells, “HAMMOND, YOU IDIOT!”, at her. 😂
Izzy is totally Richard's daughter. Imagine, one day Izzy with her own car show. And doing a challenge to make a custom car for elderly people starring Jeremy, James, and Richard haha.
I knew it was a Model 3 just by seeing the silhouette in the thumbnail. And I loved how they brought a car that was completely opposite to what Richard said
You did it Drivetribe! After creating that near perfect video of Richard and daughter Izzy off roading, you shrewdly identified that the key ingredient that missing from their wonderful chemistry was Mr. Mike Fernie. Bravo.
So weird to see Izzy doing stuff like this because I remember Jeremy making a joke about what Richard would do in 10 years time when some 'spotty oik would 'come to take your Izzy out' on a motorbike. She was only 4 then!
Izzy has such a natural knack for TV/media work like her dad. It's incredible ❤. Hope to see more of Izzy on the channel and maybe even bigger things 😊. Amazing 👏
@@willbeonekenobiDoubt it because of her dad would they want his daughter because of the way Hammond left. Yeah I would agree but The Beeb ay gonna get her as the Pressure then to get May's Children if he has any and Clarksons daughter would be to immense
Really enjoying Izzy on the channel, she's completely natural in front of the camera and does genuinely seem to care about cars at least to a relatable extend. Lovely!
I hope I speak for everyone when I say more Izzy! She’s such a fun, warm and sweet addition to the Drive Tribe videos. I can see her taking Drive Tribe to new highs if she decides to stay involved. With love from America 🇺🇸
She seems a lovely young lady, look forward to seeing her and Richard do more car shows and stuff together. Well done on on passing Izzy and best of luck with the move (although I'd stick with living in the country lol!)
(Edit 06-11'23: The error and artefecting have been removed/cut out.) Rendering error from 1:15 to 1:26? Plus the arteffecting? Yikes.. Lovely to see how great Izzy was in this Drivetribe episode :-D
@@danduntz2539 whilst convenient for now it wont be for long everyone pays congestion charge including evs in 2025 as it is congestion you are trying to reduce
Absolutely love that Izzy is getting involed with Drivetribe, she's brilliant to watch. Also it's rather surprising that she's only just starting to become a petrol head with Richard as her dad.
I can kind of understand why she may be just starting to become a petrol head even with Richard as her father. It just may have never interested her before or there could have been some other reason that we don't know about. I will say it's nice to see her on here, learning, and getting to spend time with her Dad while also having fun.
Izzy should do more car testing/review videos, she would be great at it. 🤩 Would be great to see her getting involved more with Drivetribe and The Smallest Cog.
It is so cool to see Izzy featured on Drivetribe, the next generation Hammond! I watch all of Richard's content and do an annual old Top Gear viewing starting with Season 1 so to see Izzy in some Drivetribe episodes is just so heartwarming!
Izzy is awesome..but did she just say Richard being on sidemen is a big deal. Her dad is the big deal, 1 of 3 biggest car journalists in the world and one of the biggest TV shows ever made
That's what time does. For us, the three nutters of TG are the "big deals", to the next generation their heroes are. Also, our screen heroes are network people, which is a slowly declining media field and pretty much unused by the younger generation. And additionally, to her Richard, James, Jeremy and other famous people from classic media are Dad and "uncles" and "aunts".
top gear and grand tour got and get more views then the sidemen lol, get real (i do like the sidemen but dont act like him being on there is an improvement to his image in anyway)
I like how Izzy is getting ready little by little for when Richard leaves us in 35-50 years in the future, she will be ready to inherit the Grand tour.
I am surprised how many people don't seem to realize that the intro bit is an intentional joke. Obviously, the point was he would ignore all of Richard's recommendations, folks. That's the whole bit.
I drove a model 3 about a year ago. I was shocked by how much I liked the experience. From the way it went down the road to the funny gimmicks it was honestly a joy to experience. I hate that I loved it because of the whole no engine thing but it was pretty nice ngl.
Pah, engines are overrated for driving distances. If it was my daughter and I had the money, she'd be in a Tesla for that drive. Smooth to drive, loads of driver aids, superb safety in a crash.
@@ZesPakOn the contrary, use of ICE burning hydrogen is fast appearing to be superior with the use of relatively conventional technology and improvements in sustainable lab created hydrogen. Batteries are far overrated for distance driving, recharge time and overall longevity
These cars are a lot better than what they get credit for. I've had over 40 cars and none of them has been as reliable and cheap to run as the Tesla Model 3. It is by no means a luxury car, but it is just so nice to drive and the acceleration is addictive. I live in the middle of nowhere in rural Norway and i have no range issues with it, and i drive a lot. I never thought i'd buy one, but it is the best car i've ever had. 40k miles on it now in half a year.
I was furious when I saw my Model Y was shipped with Hankook tyres. I was unfamiliar with them, and would have preferred Michelin. However, 33,000 km later, I’m utterly thrilled with them. Phenomenal grip, I’m delighted.
Leaving the money issue, I think that Tesla fits perfectly for Izzy, because don't forget she is moving to London, EV's are exempted from London congestion charges if I'm not mistaken, (if I am please note I do not live in UK) love the fact that she is not saying goodbye to the A class as that is a great car also.
I like that even though Richard is, let's face it, quite well off Izzy still knows that it'll be a stretch to get him to let her have two cars. Really loving these videos though. Izzy has a great personality and it's really cool to see someone start their journey to being a petrol head.
@@TheReal_JG You do realize, not everything they say is truth right? There are just as many false stories/exaggerations and flat out lies coming out of their mouths as anything else. It is for entertainment purposes. Ideas for content. Scripts for dialog.
Oh, I 100% agree that TG and TGT are scripted to make the trio have funny moments, making races and specials have nail-biting conclusions. But rarely do Clarkson, Hammond, and May show genuine admiralty of a car they drive - take Oliver, for instance. Pure emotions are one of those things that can't be scripted, and I believe them driving the Mondeo is that. If I remember, when Hammond's shop rebuilt a Mondeo earlier on DT, I think he did mention that all three actually did love the car (I'll go back to the videos to double check that).
@@miketaylor6053 $25k British pounds is not a "Deal". She would be better off with a VW Golf Or something. It's a college car not a "My Daddy is wealthy and bought me a Tesla".... Come on 🙄
Love these videos!! Especially the reality of being allowed to see inside the Hammond family! Brave move guys .... in these ultra pc correct days I felt the need to censor what I said! ... can izzy present more... the videos are honest, tun, and done feel overly scripted! Well done!!
To not have to worry about money... that's the dream, right? I mean, sure, Richard has to worry about it. Since he's the one footing the bill.. Congrats Izzy! Having 1 of the coolest families in the world.. 🙂
As a mini Hammond I must say after years of following your pops I was rather upset he didn’t have you in a proper motor non of that EV 💩 lol enjoy ur new car ✌️
You can get a Model3 used for the amount Richard specified, might have to negotiate the exact model and specs with the parents but it's not a bad suggestion. Would have the range to do a round trip between the family home and London but will depend on if they already have a level2 charger.
That Tesla is the wrong vehicle to choose, even with London’s regulations that benefit electric cars inside the city. What most people would need in her situation is a small SUV, which would be easier to park in the city. The A Class is actually perfect for city life. Here in the states that would be perhaps a Mazda CX-30 or CX-50, or a Toyota RAV4. Imagine the range anxiety of driving on the long stretches of the M-highways - there are long stretches without easy recharging.
I own a model 3 standard plus. It's probably one of the best daily drivers I've ever owned. I wouldn't use it for long distance drives, not because it's a ev, but because it's not the most comfortable for long periods of time.
17:25 @Drivetribe we need an F1 podcast featuring Izzy and Richard for sure. Be hilarious hearing Izzy try to explain what's happening in F1 to Richard
Nothing weird about it really. I would imagine that she does professional things with her mum like showjumping or whatever and she can hardly tell the judges to ask her mum. It does feel a bit strange to start with. I had to start calling my dad by his first name when I worked in the same organisation as him and after a while it just sticks. If I remember I call him dad in private.@@robs715
Struggling to see how that is at all suitable for London driving...or motorway miles...or rural bits and bobs out here in the country. Should've bought a Jimny or something.
After watching the fun Lizzy had with the Ram Truck she should of went with the new Chevy EV Truck if she wanted an EV...Now that thing would turn some heads in London.
After a couple of Nissan Leaf’s I now have a Tesla Model 3. They are brilliant and the integration with the navigation system and Superchargers makes them an easy long distance car. You can buy a Model 3 used from £25k. I’d recommend anyone with a £25k budget to consider a Model 3. They’re decades ahead of legacy EV and ICE.
@@TheFlameFoxx please tell us about the build quality of your Tesla and how much it cost you to replace the whole battery rather than repair it or replace a module after the 8 year warranty expired.
@@EVinstructor I don't own a tesla, nor would I ever. You can see countless reports of Tesla's poor build quality. Have you read into the T&C's of the "warranty", you can also see countless reports of Tesla not honouring the warranty for the battery.
@@TheFlameFoxx Ah, I see, you don’t own a Tesla, probably never driven one, haven’t considered purchasing one, maybe never even sat in one. However, I’m sure the millions of Tesla owners in the world, especially those owners of the best selling car in the world the Model Y, will appreciate your expert insight and advice.
You forgot the bit, "sponsored by Tesla" Haha.. Love the show, love the people, but this entire video felt like a sales pitch, promotional video on Tesla. When she points out any negatives, there's a rebuttal, as you'd expect from any sales person. Helpful tip for the future, any time one presents something to somebody and is curious of their opinion, to get their true, honest opinion, (it's hard) but you have to avoid influencing their opinion. "I think you'll like this" subconsciously influences somebody to like something before they try it. (applies to cars, food, drinks, anything.) "I think it's great/bad when.." Never share your own positive/negative views and opinions as well. They as well, naturally subconsciously influence the person too. Especially if that person like you. People naturally want to agree with those they like, and there's subconscious tug to avoid disagreeing with them. These are all "mind ninja" tactics sales/marketing people use to influence you/us to buy something we don't need/want, or didn't have an opinion on before. Personally, I think these tactics were known and he really was trying to sell the car to her.
Smart move, love the Tesla but need help to persuade Hammond on keeping the Merc as well for The Country! Looking forward to hearing how that pans out!
