A legend is someone who holds on to his or her roots and uses it to create an extreme difference in their passion, remember during KD's speech when he said "I love you Russ..I will always have your back" but then a few years later after that MVP speech he says "Russ and I were never close. I do have to say, I've been a warriors fan my whole life and I was upset when KD joined us. I wanted to keep our core, I wanted to get back at the Cavs with OUR homegrown guys. This whole season was less fun than last year, which was filled with Steph's crazy games and an absurd amount of close victories that we clutched out. There were just so many great moments in that year and this year was just blowout after blowout. Like I still watched every game this year but it wasn't the same as years past. It was too easy and it wasn't natural when we easily could've kept the same core and won a ring anyways. I'll always support KD because he's on my team but I'll never love him like I do Steph and Draymond (not a huge Klay fan because he has such awful shot selection and is so streaky). When they were celebrating last night it was just what everyone expected would happen; there wasn't really satisfaction, just relief. And that sucks. A title is an amazing accomplishment but because of KD, it didn't feel nearly as good as it should have and did the first time around

One thing that makes Durants decision look even worse is that its juxtaposed with that of Lebron James. Here is Kevin Durant a super start who join a super team and battles in the finals against Lebron who for the 07',17',18' finals he had no help and still stuck with it and competed and didn't complain.

This season was such a blur, as I am a Thunder fan,.Over the course of the year there was so much unnecessary drama between Westbrook and Durant (though I must say it was entertaining). The Thunder is a team that I've been with since the Sonics moved to OKC, back in 2008, I was in Kindergarden at the time, I distintly remember watching every game on a half broken tv with my dad. At that time, I could care less about winning or losing, I just had a passion for the sport. The next season was the same, and for me watching the game was all I cared for. The next year, in 2010, I was fully immersed into the NBA, my 2nd grade teacher at the time had a son who worked for the "Thunder Live" pregame show, so she was into the sport too. I would hand write every box score for every Thunder game, just to show the class, I even made basketball arenas, and courts out of popsicle sticks and cardboard (might sound wierd but I was 7, it was sure fun though). As you can see, this was the time I truly started to love the Thunder organization as a whole and all the teams, as a whole. Even better the team was good, really good. Next year was when things got crazy, the whole season was crazy too. As you all know this was the year the Thunder got stopped shy of the Trophy, as they lost to the Heat in 5. Before that happend though, the whole league was improving and so was competition. The West was stacked, but no teams were severely higher in skill than others. I mean seriously the Mavs, the Champs a year earlier were the 7 seed. It was crazy. And in my mind I had no positivity in my mind even if teams like the Spurs and Lakers, and of course the Thunder could make it out of the first round. The East as you know had a Heat team with 3 stars, and a great supporting cast behind them, but, I thought that the Pacers would knock them off in 7. This year I'm particular as well as the following year showed the most competitive league, since I've been involved in the NBA. In 2014-15, you could see a change in direction in the league we had the Warriors, emerging at the seam, and other teams like Atlanta playing even better than the Josh Smith/Joe Johnson days. And those are just a few, the season was for sure entertaining, and watching the season as a whole was fun as always, but something seemed off when playoffs came around, the first round wasn't a competitive round anymore, instead in most cases the higher seed was extremely better than the lower seed, something that didn't happen in previous years. 2015-16 year comes around, and oh my goodness, the Warriors roster was decked out, insane players in every starting position, and of course the King, just now returning with his team full of great players, and a lot of potential. This year, was by no means as entertaining in the regular season, sure Thunder basketball is always the highlight if the night, but the league as a whole was so lobsided, so many mediocre and poor teams, a handful of Good teams, and only a select few of great teams, one of which was the Thunder, coming in as the three seed the path to the finals was difficult as always, first round was in all honesty, a practice leading to an extremely skilled Spurs team. And the Warriors, though I must say it hurts saying this but, oh my goodness these Warriors were by far better roster wise, than all 29 other teams, no questions asked. Steph, Klay, Draymond, Iggy, Barnes. This was in all truthfulness a 12 - headed monster, all the players were off the charts talented, or at least the starters and Iggy were. To be honest In the back of my mind I had a Cavs/Warriors rematch. And we'll I wasn't wrong, but I sure was surprised, the Thunder was in the Western Conference Finals, of course against the record breaking Warriors. I stayed with the Thunder all the way and, the Thunder were making the NBA competitive for Golden State. Games were close, going the Thunders way of course. And it was very enjoyable, hopefully not only for me, but for all other fans of the sport. Though I don't want to talk about it Draymond kicking Adams "Kiwis" sure wasn't cool, and I found it to be unorthodox. The Thunder lost a 3-1 lead to the Warriors, and it stunned me. The team was outperforming each night but couldn't pull it off, I knew the Thunder would be back for 2017, ready to get the first Championship in OKC. The finals that year were just how I thought it would be as the Warriors were up 3-1(wanted Cavs to win though). The Cavs pulled off the improbable, winning 3 straight, to take it the Cleveland. Very happy for Lebron and his team. Not trying to be that dude but Ayesha Curry was pretty salty o er the outcome, same with many fo the fans, of course, I get it as I for sure wasn't happy when the Thunder lost in 2012. Now to the 2016-17 offseason, I knew that KD was going to resign with the Thunder, best situation for him to be in, still stick by that now. But KD signs with--- the Warriors? This move was something I saw as bad for Kevin and the whole league, he wanted the ring, I get it, but he had it all in OKC? Apparently not in his eyes. The season was filled with Westbrook/KD drama, not actual competitive nature, and spirit. It was almost as if we already knew it was a Cavs/Warriors final again. It was obvious too, if I were a team owner not with the Cavs or Warriors this year, I would've tanked, it's not even a bad idea, unless you're the Nets, no point in it for them. The year is always fun watching the Thunder, especially watching Westbrook light it up and energize the arena, even myself at home. Besides that, I couldn't find much fun in the NBA, no more writing box scores every night for me, it was watching the Cavs and Warriors prepare for the finals. Beyond the first and second round of the playoffs, I just couldn't find the competitiveness in the league, heck I didn't bother to watch so e of the finals, instead I watched hockey, I sport I hate, don't know why I watched it but it was a new experience. The finals in a nutshell was just an end to a miserable year for the NBA, one of the worst in league history in all due respect, the thing that I want all of you to take out of this is this The sport of basketball itself is one of m kind, and something we all have in common no matter who we support. Competition is what makes watching NBA basketball, entertaining, sure watching your favorite team win every night is fun for you, but after seeing it over and over, the feeling of success is not as unique as before, just how it is. Moves like Kevin's are prime examples of what happens when winning is your only goal. This was achieved by Kevin this year, as he won the title, and he and his teammates are indeed "Champs." This move however put the league in a situation we've never had before: No competition. Moves like these have put the NBA in jeopardy, and though it got him where he wanted. This could start a new trend that could ruin the league. My main message is: Success isn't what makes the NBA what it is today, it's competition has.
