I don't recommend buying a 2023 Bolt like I have. Well, to start with. You won't know what to do with that extra $10 to $20 thousand you will save buying that EV. Next, you will fill guilty everytime you pass a gas station. Oh, and you won't have the fun of spending $5 to $15 thousand more on a home charger. My Bolt charges on 110 and 220 outlets. The biggest drawback is seeing these poor car companies that want to sell you an expensive EV, crying that you didn't buy one. Finally, do you really want that 2023 Bolt that outperformed even a Tesla? See how guilty buying one will make you feel!!!!

Where on earth are you getting the cost of 5000-15000 for a home charger? I had a NEMA 14-50 outlet put in my garage for $250, picked up a Autel Maxicharger from Amazon for $459.

I was going to wait for the new Equinox EV but found out it will be made in Mexico so it would qualify for the tax credit. So I found a new 2023 Bolt EUV last week and now she is sitting in my garage.

I may trade in my Bolt for the newer one. With the problems GM has faced lately like the workers strike and moving EV releases later in 2024 I believe the new Bolt will be introduced in 2025 like at the LA Auto Show or the one in Detroit, but will actually go on sale in 2026. It seems highly unlikely that Bolts will be sold in 2025. Another gr8 video as usual. 🚙🇺🇸🔌🌩️

I bought a 2020 Bolt Premier that just had its battery replaced. My advice don't wait. There are some experts think that 2025 Bolt will be a no show. My 2020 Bolt Premier is the best car I ever own.

If I were in the market I would pick up a Bolt EUV for sure. But, my 2017 Volt is serving me well and I really like the car. Maybe in a couple years when the new Bolt EUV comes out it will be in my plans.

I bough my 2023 Chevy Bolt last year because the design has been through its teething phase since production in 2016, and had some big problems that had to be solved in the pre 2023 models. The new Chevy Bolt coming out in 2025 or 2026 will have a totally new bleeding edge design and likely many problems. Once I have seen reviews and reports of predecessor years having gone through 100,000 miles and what problems they have, only then will I consider it. I want reliablity and minimal maintiance above all, I don't buy cars to try to resell it or worse fininace it 3 years later, instead I buy so I can have a car I can drive into the ground past 200,000 miles and get my money's worth.

I think I'd rather stick to my beloved 2019 Premier and wait for the newer Bolt to see if it's any better... IF they ever really roll it out as Mary Barra promised.

The current one has a very good reliable reputation buying something that just came out is always a risk. I did hit a large metal object on the freeway at 80 miles an hour, after I did check under the car it didn’t seems to be matter because of the strong metal shield on the bottom. I had been told by the people at the charging station that something like this happened to his friend with other EV; he had to change the whole battery pack. Not sure they would keep that because it cost more.

There is NOTHING that can be improved on my 2022 EUV PREMIER that would cause me to change which is why I think GM discontinued the model. If didn't get dated, out of style or become technically obsolete . . . it just achieved the pinnacle of perfection and had nowhere elsewhere to go. My advice, if a buyer finds a new or used one that suits, grab it. You can thank me later.

I bought a 2023 EUV because that's what the dealer had in stock, and my previous car had just got t-boned. With a decent insurance settlement and the tax rebate it was the proverbial offer I couldn't refuse. For anybody considering whether to go with the EV or EUV, note that the EUV has just enough room in the back--if you remove that false floor--for a full 17" spare tire+wheel to lay flat, and it's a perfect fit so it won't bounce around. I live in a remote rural environment with lots of dirt roads and sharp rocks, so having a real spare makes for real peace of mind.

Don't do it. The battery and drive train in the 2023 Bolt is identical to the previous models with the same abysmal charging system. I have a 2020 Bolt, it is now winter, and I will not get better than 40 kW charging rates and it drops to about 12 kW between 70% and 80%. Unless you do all your charging at home and only drive around town or no further than 160 miles round trip (the most you will get in winter unless you use no heat in the cabin) in the winter, wait for other options with faster charging. By the time the new Bolt comes out there will be a lot of better options.

I'm looking at buying a used 2023 EUV LT from Hertz. Does anyone know which federal tax credit it qualifies for? At first I thought it was the $4k credit for used EVs, but then read the requirements for the $7.5K credit, and it seems like it qualifies too. Great video! Thanks for making them.
@SkyDawg108
@SkyDawg108 6 месяцев назад
It won't qualify for the the $4k unless: a) it costs less than $25k and b) the model year (i.e., 2023) is 2 or more years older than the current calendar year.

I have a 2023 bolt with 8000 miles. I wanted to sell but didn’t realize it depreciated so much in the year and a half I owned it. Not only that but the NYS tax incentive I would owe back . (800.00)Do you think the bolt will depreciate anymore than it has? 16,500 was the dealer offer. I’m not sure if I should just keep it or take the loss. I would never buy new again.

Maybe I'm just hopeful, but I don't see why a NACS upgraded charging port/system can't be a thing for existing Bolt/Bolt EUV's in the next year from Chevrolet. If not, maybe sever years down the road from a 3rd party.
@KR-ll4dj
@KR-ll4dj 8 месяцев назад
Musk has claimed that the robust Tesla charging infrastructure will be available to all EVs this year. I don't know if he's followed through on that yet, but it occurred to me that it would be wise to order a NACS DC fast-charge adapter for my 2023 EUV to enhance my charging options on the road. And there is one company already making them, called A2Z EV in Canada. They've just sent me email that mine's been shipped. So I guess they got the necessary clearance for it from Tesla. Note that this is not the same as the Tesla "destination charger" adapters already out there--that's only level 2.
@myrealnamedoesntfit
@myrealnamedoesntfit 8 месяцев назад
@@KR-ll4dj hi, I'm a new Bolt EUV owner. What's the max amp for a destination charger with adapter vs the new one you are having shipped? Seems like Tesla has a good setup for chargers compared to the half dozen different companies out there, a long with the cheapest rates (35¢/kWh vs 42¢-52¢/kWh), as long as you don't idle at a charger of course.

So Louis after your lease is up what will you be getting next? I may have mentioned this before on one of your videos but I bought a slightly used 2023 Premiere with S & S and SC 2700 miles for $31k OTD. It is my third Bolt ('17,20, and now the EUV) My dealer just bought all the Bolts EUVs from a dealer in Brunswick GA and they do not have any upcharges on their cars. I'm in the Atlanta metro. Hopefully GM will put the brake lights where they belong, paint the top portion of the rear bumper and connect the top rear bumper better to the car. I looked at a few EUV's and they all have a disconnect where the top of the rear bumper meets (or should meet) to the hatch area. Pretty poor build/design. Also, who knows how much the '25 Bolt will cost when it releases. Or the Equinox for that matter. Oh and they just received a Blazer EV. It looks good but like I said before, there's no way I'm driving a Chevy EV with the word Blazer on it! 😬🤪

Just read a review on the 2024 Blazer EV test drive in California which was a disaster, software crashed and was well over $40K. About to pick up my 23 Bolt EUV Red Line with leather for $29,775 (a few dealers are discounting last week of December, my favorite time to buy). So less than $23K after the $7.5K Fed tax credit was too good to pass up.

As you may know, Hertz is selling off their EV cars. I test drove a 2023 Bolt EUV LT with 11k asking 20k price tag. I would prefer the model with the sunroof, but I think I could live without it. My question is, any thoughts on buying an EV that was being used as a rental? Or if I do decide to buy it from Hertz, is there anything I should check before buying, or maybe just wait for the 2025? Thanks

I am debating the EV or EUV. What is a good price for a 2023 Bolt EV 2LT? I hear the turning radius is tighter on the EV. My insurance would go up by $60 per month for a Bolt EV vs. my VW Golf R which is crazy.
@MetzTech

I would say in the 24-25k range after the tax incentive is a good price. I find the turning radius perfectly adequate on the EUV as well, though i haven't directly compared them.

Not worth vehicle , this vehicle is good for a young boy just got license and 4 other kids age between 10-15 years space wise. still many things are manual, shaky when break at 55 mph, more plastic used to in its build. Butts will blast after sitting 2 hours in driver seat itself not sure other seats comfort. Low quality Bose speakers , suddenly increasing speed when you set adaptive cruise control ...etc .Except(infotainment,corgo space with down style) some features its more are less equal to a car worth of $15K-20K.
