Should you document your life??? 🤳🏻 It feels like there are so many opinions out there, it can be a bit overwhelming. You should document your life because we'll be old one day and it'll be so beautiful to look back on. You shouldn't document because you're not living in the moment when you do. You should post on social media to share your life, inspire others, and connect with people from around the world. You shouldn't post on social media because privacy is so important and rare these days. Can all of these things be true at once? Probably.
I feel stuck between all these thoughts feeling one way or the other, depending on my mood that day. Honestly, overall, I love documenting my life AND sharing it online. It helps me connect to others, I feel accomplished in creating something worth sharing, and I absolutely love the whole creative act of filming and editing.
This is a reminder to myself and maybe to you if you need it. It's okay to document. It's also okay not to. Just create what you want, live how you want today, and tweak things as you go.
Don't take life so seriously all the time.

Rena, your words really resonate with me. Sharing on social media has always been a sort of struggle. Is it to preserve memories or merely to show that I'm 'living' life? Last year, I moved to Japan and began sharing as a creative outlet to visually express my thoughts and explore my identity. It's also for my parents, who rarely see me in person, to catch a glimpse of my joys. While the thought of filming 'because I should show this' lingers, I've learned to let it go if it interferes with being present. Sometimes, I'll take a quick shot just for myself. Your videos are as always beautiful. Hope you have a lovely week 🍀

Love this perspective on creating / preserving memory!! It made me think about how when we were younger, the internet used to be our escape from real life. But now, as social platforms have taken over every aspect of our lives, real life is an escape from the internet. Thank you for this reminder that we can balance sharing our lives with keeping some memories precious to ourselves. Amazing video!!

YESS RENA LOVE THIS!!! i had that same feeling of “omg i need to document this” and then realize ok, time to reassess. i ended up not documenting most of my trip in korea. but in return i got to experience it all in the moment. it’s a really hard balance and im glad u touched on this
