Thanks for helpful video, it eased my mind about going with an older MBP and probably saved me some cash from buying something newer I won't need. Blessings!
Hey Bro , thanks 🙏🏽 for the video. It’s 2023 , two months away from 2024 and you just saved me a Ton of money. No need for me as a DJ to go out and buy the latest Mac book ! Thanks 🙏🏽 again !!!
Thank you found those useful I’m a dj myself and just had my 2012 Mac shit on me so I wasn’t sure to get another same version or upgrade to a 2015 model
I'm with you bro.. great video and your talking style 👌.. I have rane one I'm using Windows right now. I have problem with Windows. Plane 2 buy a use mac book pro... can you advise me wich specs should I want? 🙏🤘✌️
Thanks for the video, very informative. I use my ttm57sl redline with a Win7 PC and to be honest it's good but I know I would be doing better with a Mac PC/Laptop... Which one do you suggest and which OS was sturdier for the ttm57sl redline? Appreciate some feedback Thank you!
Hey Bro , quick question. So I’m on a budget right now. If I was to purchase a 2012 MAC Book Pro will I be able to use Rekordbox Software on it today and for the upcoming new year 2024 ?
You should be able to. But right now I recommend newer Macs as time has passed, try to get a 2015 and up because you will run into issues when you want to upgrade OS.
I have a gun 2018 macbook pro Catalina, i7, 16g ram, 2.5 ghz. I use traktor pro 3.6(2022) a traktor kontrol s4 mk3 with 2 turntable stanton T.92. It works, than it doesn't work. Basically its on then off, then on....offI. Im Getting low connection errors from the turntables. What do I need or what am I doing wrong?
I don't know much about tractor, I spoke with my friend Dj Troy, he said check your needles or increase the weight on the tonal arm to make the needle sit more on the record....
I’m new to digital DJing,,, going to get a Mac but don’t want to spend a lot, and all I want it for is rekordbox and my music and maybe RU-vid channel where I can put my mixes on. What will do for me ?
Can u give me the specs I should be looking for? I'm looking for a back up. Should I go 15, 16 or 17 What size Mac book How many gbs How much ram I do want all my usb ports
prob late for responding to this but 15 inch, any year is fine (15,16 or 17 - either one is good), 16gb of ram, and 500 gb. You can always get a external SSD which I have right now since 500 gb isn't enough for me.
New hardware most of time its not gonna solve it - you will only have problems with some minimum requirement system demanded by some latests softwares like Serato DJ pro 3.0. if any serato older version works fine and still has everything you need - stick with it. thats no problem at all - many guys still use core I5 / I7 and windows 7 pro (64bit) + 16gb ram with older serato versions flawlessly - mind this - its all based on MIDI protocols...wich is very old and limited - and most of the DVS systems runs with USB 2,0 - even USB 3.0 wont get any better
I would suggest getting a 2016 MacBook and up now, if you can. You have techs that can install the new OS on old computers but that causes issues down the line. another option is to have some install a version of windows on the mac so you can load both windows and apple os, and use the windows for Serato and fllx10
The library is too white for me on serato. Am using a 13inch 3017 mac. On windows the library is gray. I see better. How i fix this? Or is its a 13inch
I love the SD card slots you can literally get a 2TB mini and card throw it in an adapter with all your music slide it in card reader and take up no extra desk space with a portable
@@Ydk927 if you are using it for dj purposes only definitely, as you progress you will start it edit songs and may want to video edit, in that case I would recommend a 16gb.
Dj for 30 years. I use a mid 2012 13 inch macbook pro i7 2.9ghz 500gb ssd 16gb RAM. Specs are fire but im starting to have issues connecting to newer mixers even after i tried updating os. Should i just get a 2015 13?
Yes that's one of the issue with the 2012s, I would suggests you go newer. 2015 and up is ok. Do you use any other music softwares other than Serato, also what's your budget...
@@Djmartindus budget not really an issue. Just frugal and dont want to buy cpu that is overkill when im only using it for serato and need it to be compatible with s9 and nexus at least
@@Djmartindus me know fam ........... me a experience crashing and loosing music...........just need covid go weh so i can go back a school and try get subscribers to my channel and try make some cash fi buy one mac book and a new phone......... Keep up the good work..........still await on the video showing how to make remixs with just an laptop. free software and not audiocity
2017+ is the better option over all, I am sorry. I keep nothing on mine even for when I am photo and video editing. Even when mixing, still keep nothing on board, but the sear amount of processing power overall compared to my 2012 - 2015 MacBook Pro 13 and 15 inch it just does not compare. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks for the feedback, I have noticed something about the new laptops. When playing outdoors if any sunlight catches it they freeze up while djing. So the older ones can withstand heat more.
