You're right Becca. My plan in UK was to get a profession which I did, 3 professions and a degree in Psychology. Don't come so that you surpass your neighbours in wealth. In Africa it can be so stressful cos most relatives want you to help them with their children's school fees, groceries, rent etc. You can get stressed I tell you. Even to get information in Africa, they send you from one office to another cis they want you to pay for the information or service. Even paying your bills can be stressful. A very simple thing and you can spend hours to sort it out. They'll tell you the person in charge is out. You wait hours for them when all along the person was around. They want you to feel their importance. Yet the company pays them to work 8 hours. They can close the office 2 hours before time. It's very bad when you've lived abroad. To apply for something it can take a year to get things done. I once asked for a document and was told to take a sit. I was the only person in that office of 3 people on computers, and 2 cashiers. Eventually I was asked how they could help me. It only took ten minutes to process my document. Then bombarded with questions about UK. How can one get there, how much is the visa, etc? That's our Africa.
I like the video. Well said The UK has good opportunities. I will not tell anyone whether they should come or not. My experience may not be yours. The first 1-2 years here will be a challenge, and then after that, you will be just fine. Patience is a virtue. Nothing happens before its time.
Each person's journey will be different. It will take hard work and dedication but the goal will be the prize. I chose UK as a teacher because they called me first. The US was insisting that I get more experience. After coming to the UK the US decided they wanted me, but I'm fine. Once I start I'm not 2nd guessing myself. I focus my energy on winning. My family all now have ILR and I'm awaiting to get my citizenship, they will have a longer wait. For now that's the goal. We are comfortable and at peace. I trust we could be happier but for now we are achieving the goals that we set out to achieve
UK is not worth it.I am an African Eu trained nurse,relocated 2020 to Uk,it was much more better back then,but now it worse.A big no,especially for people with a young Family.
You are totally correct I've been here for more than twenty years and you totally right back then things used to be much better and easier but now even though I became British citizen now things are not easy at all imagine to those who are newly just coming think twice before you make a decision coming to the uk
but please still isnt late to come back tk africa. Here in africa we are really enjoying please come ok we love you. relocate all your kids as well there are better schools and healthcare here ok
You have said it well. Some people are greedy and they keep on telling others all negatives about the uk to discourage them from relocating to the UK. Thank you for being honest ❤
