Dreaming of the day when i can own this spec. Watching your videos to manifest one day owning this slept on beast of an acura. thankts for the great content my guy.
I’m pretty sure there’s a setting for the rev hang in ktuner…I could be wrong though, idk if it’s different for auto/manual. I don’t remember what it is off the top of my head though I’d have to dig into it
I think what a lot of people fail to understand is that ideal shift points are found not only based on engine power but also things like gearing/mph come into play as a function of where in the rev range you land after a shift. Granted it doesn’t make sense to spin a stock cam N.A. J series to 8500, but by the same token it isn’t ideal to shift exactly where the stock cams fall off making power either because then the next gear starts out in a lower power portion of the rev range.
Exactly! Lots of ppl don't take those things into consideration, but it definitely makes a difference of what rpms your drop to. Gotta find that sweet spot where you're making the same power you are in the next gear as were before shifting.
@RevsALot I picked up a 2011 6-speed. I saw the video on your coilovers and want to find a wheel that would sit just a bit more flush to the fender than yours. If you get around to figuring it, that would help me out alot. I'll post some content when parts slowly start to come in as well.
@the_anton_kabanov yah I regret not getting 9.5, but I'm a hair away from rubbing on the fenders as it is. Feel under the fender and you'll see why. Definitely need to roll the fenders or grind the lip off(I'm planning in griding them this summer, cause I want more flush also)
Oh yah, I wish I could. Still waiting for proper cams for j37a4, and tbh I just want to see how far the stock motor will go before having to open it up
You can, I use S and just paddle shift, she burbles at around 7300. I’ve got j pipe and full exhaust done. I think this year I’ll be doing the manifold and throttle body along with tuner.
shifting a higher rpm may make less power or your power falls off but when you shift your next gear you are in the power band so it can be beneficial. You need to map your gears out on where your rpms are on the shifts and when you go to dyno see where your power is at the shifts. But most time over reving will benefit sometimes . Rev hang might be on the tune ?
I've brought it on the dyno so I shift at the rpms where I make the same power going into the next gear. Definitely gotta figure out the rev hang I can let off the gas and it's almost a full second before you hear it actually let off the throttle.
@@RevsALot sorry you said that you have stock exhaust pipes after you’re J pipe. I was just saying that it would be good to upgrade your exhaust to 2.5 inch at least before the tune
