@@ricoflamma5430 with proper care and maintenance yessir them j series at the time are very nice to upkeep and drive for a long time , personally would worry more about other components like suspension
Yes I’d highly recommend you throwing in a high flow resonator to smooth out the raspy sound in the higher RPMS. Any time I do a catless exhaust system I always put install a res, sometimes two depending on what it takes to clear out that raspy sound all threw the rpm range. Doesn’t create much if any restriction. Just makes it sounds like it’s supposed to. Very clean type S sir! Thanks for sharing. Keep her clean, and stay mean my man!
Hey I spoke to you a good while ago about your PCI spherical LCA bushings, just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, and they’re now one of my favorite modifications I’ve done!
Love my 05, previous owner neglected it so I got it cheap, but definitely playing catch-up now with maintenance. Most of its done now, just waiting for rear rotors and pads to arrive. Just got my RV6 pre cat deletes installed also and already noticed quite the difference.
Building up my 04 J32 swapped Accord V6 6MT. Your TL is beautiful man. Thank you for the video. I'll definitely get a resonator for those PCDs; definitely don't want to sound like the stereotypical Honda 😅 Subbed 👍
I almost took my resonators off cause it’s too mellow with tsudo cat back downpipe and third cat delete. I have the PCD but they canceled my appointment to get them installed cause they started cracking down at the same time ha. This video got me thinking to leave the resonator on and install PCD’s and see how it sounds. I want it to be a lot louder
This just inspired me to get my PCD’s installed and keep my hi-flow resonators on my cat back. I bought the PCD’s like a year ago but local shops started cracking down on not installed them anymore. I also need to bite the Bullet on getting rims for my 6mt. I need to do the port and polish too. Plus, i love the interior.. where did u get the upholstery done? That’s sick!
beautiful build man! i’ve been thinking about installing the AEM v2 CAI but held off since i was afraid i’d lose some low end torque, but you said you gained some?
Thanks for the vid man. I'd really like to know where you got the entire carbon fiber trim from, you went all out. Would love to go all out like that too haha. provide a link if you can.
Like the vids man, I'm from Florida and plan on getting a TL Type S Soon, however, none are in a 6speed only in autos. But in your honest opinion should I still get it?
You should! They’re still great cars even with the automatic. At least with the type-s you get paddle shifters, which are fun. I also owned an auto type s in the past.
@@BrotherlyReviews Great to hear. Though gas prices have been hefty lately over here in South Florida. Should you recommend I stay completely on 93 octane or 91?
If you have a manual, my 6th suggestion (actually the only mod I've done to mine) is replacing the factory clutch/flywheel. You will notice a difference immediately with just that!
Honestly don’t like how many features it lacks vs the Advance trim. Plus I can’t justify spending 60k on an Acura (after I add all the options I’d want).
@@ellzgoespro6568 where you iz? I'm in Denver on the weekends working shows and at my land south of Pueblo on my days off. Banger show at Cervantes tonight. I'll be out front. ShinyShitAndFuzzyThings
What was that thing sticking out of the bumper? I' m sorry, im just starting to learn about the acura tl because im looking to purchase one. Theyre like suped up hondas. I love it
Hey guys I have a 2002 Acura TL 3.2L V6 and I was wondering if anyone knew what cold air intake I should get. Right now it’s stock and I plan on turbocharging it. It’s my first car and just confused on what to do or buy first.
Get one of the brand names I mentioned in the video. Don’t go for a cheap eBay knockoff brand. Trust me. I know the legit ones are in the hundreds but believe me when I tell you they do make a difference during low rpm acceleration.
Was ur tl beige originally? Just got one for my birthday, nighthawk black pearl with beige interior but I wanna switch the plastics to black and dye the carpet black too
Hey brother, hope you're doing well and this message reaches you. I know you don't have your TL anymore but if u were to do it all over again TODAY, would u go with the RV6 PCD's or the RV6 HFPC's? Im doing a ton of research on the forums and asking my car buddies and I'm leaning toward the HFPC's. Your thoughts?
I’d probably still stick with PCDs, since they offer the most performance (from what I understand), vs hfpc is mainly for states that require emission inspections. We don’t have inspections here in Florida.
Hey man I have an 2001 Acura tl non type s ofcourse and I was wondering what the best bang for buck mods are...would a lightweight pulley and header help? I did a short ram ebay intake ..resonator delete and muffler delete but that honestly only felt like it added 4 hp or so all together...Also is it normal for my car to heat soak often or is that from the cheap short intake ? I'd appreciate the advice but yea man should I do the lightweight pulleys and headers ?
Cold air intake is much better. Honda J engines don’t have headers. Pre-cat deletes, j-pipe, full cat-back exhaust, and port and polishing the intake runners and throttle body with a tune will definitely increase the performance.
@@BrotherlyReviews yea my boy just told me that the newer ones don't have them...lucky man you car makes amazing power I have to do a few things to make this fast your car looks fantastic to the 04-08 is my favorite year I call them the square bodies lol ..well take care man and thanks again
It’s non-copyrighted music that I found on RU-vid. Don’t remember what it’s called but it’s like over an hour long of different free instrumentals with no copyrights
i got an 06 base tl with a full 3' cat back straight pipe, i want to delete the 2 primary cats, do i need to tune the car because my mechanic wouldnt do it because he thinks ill blow my engine with no backflow
@@BrotherlyReviews shit okay, would my car engine blow without any cats? i have no mufflers no resonators or the third cat rn and i want to delete the primary cats
I got 18x9.5 ×35mm rims (super light even with tires) theres a lot of suspension work that needs to be done (coilovers which I got tien street z for 400$) but I need front upper camber kit and rear upper camber kit.. now I'm worried about the toe. As I sew 3 different pieces for each rear wheel for toe arm adjustments. Are the adjustable rear toe arms a must? Or should I just take it to an alignment shop to see if there's even an issue? I've definitely noticed replacing coilovers is a task... especially when having to purchase camber kits.
How many miles is on this tl ?, mine had 214,000 miles on it and I wanted to build it more but idk if I should wait for a new motor or rebuild this motor ? Thanks if you could help me out
If you have the time and the money, rebuild it for extra assurance. But if you have records of the engine being maintained properly, you should be fine. Just make sure you get it tuned as you add more performance parts.
That’s not the true horsepower. SAE was rating the horsepower numbers incorrectly for the first two years. It was corrected in 2006. If you look up the 0-60 and 1/4 miles times for an 04 and 06, they’re the same.
Is that your Subaru in your profile picture?? That’s one of my favorite cars of all time 😍 But yes, definitely need to get rid of the rasp. I found a resonator to get rid of it
