Hi quest pro user here and vrchat content creator, the quest pro is 100% worth it for me and what I use it for! Having face tracking is a whole new level of immersion, and makes for way better content. I disagree with it being glitchy, it is something else to worry about and run in the background but I love it and so does everybody I talk to in there. When you find someone else with it having a conversion is very realistic. Getting to see where someone is looking is sometimes… fun 😇 the quest pro controllers do suck though, I use index knuckles for finger tracking and because they are so much better.
In European countries, the price for Quest 3 and Quest Pro is the same. I bought my Pro for less than $400, hello from Russia (VR headset's ain't popular here lmao). Unfortunately, this is my first VR headset and I didn’t have time to enjoy a lot of wires, stations, trackers 'n stuff to enjoy a completely wireless connection with FBT (SlimeVR) and Facetracking. I still want index controllers, but here they cost like Quest Pro.
Aaah, this was such a dilemma ! On the one hand, the face tracking looks amazing. On the other, having experienced the display quality of the quest 3, I couldn't part with it. I really wish for a potential quest 4 to finally inherit the face tracking of the pro.
I really can't choose between a Pico 4 and a Quest Pro. I don't care about how good they are at AR/XR, since Pico 4 has native XR Browser which is good enough. I had a Pico 4 and a Pico 4 Pro before, and I don't know if I want to go for a Quest Pro which is way less comfortable to wear and it requires a VPN to activate in my country... Also, it looks like a lot of people are forgot that Quest Pro isn't the cheapest face & eye tracking headset...
I own the Quest Pro, It's good but in terms of overall performance the Pico 4 which i also own has way better performance and also natively connects to your PC a lot smoother than the bloatware that the Quest 2 & Pro has sideloaded on PC, The Quest 3 However has SteamVR and the ability to disable the Bloatware a lot easier resulting in a better performance option then both headsets but still lacking some key features that the pico 4 and Quest Pro has. Hope this helps for some Insight :D
@@8MOG the quest pro, and quest 3 both can use steam link or virtual desktop without needing to install the meta desktop app. Steam link is sometimes the preferred method for quest pro specifically since it allows you to use foveated rendering to help with performance
@@likescookies unfortunately the pico 4 pro isn’t easily available in North America, and there’s reports that if you import them in, than they’re region locked and need to be unlocked in order to use here. If they were sold here more readily available, I’m sure they would be a lot more popular for sure
@@JamieVatarga oh that’s dope, I figured it’d be choppy on the pro I haven’t tried it yet on my pro when I got the quest 3 and valve index I pretty much put my quest 2 and pro on the shelf and forgot about it XD, but watching this video encouraged me to use it again.
Between Quest Pro and Quest 3 controllers which are better and why? I know the Quest Pro controllers can track behind you, but then again you can buy a Quest 3 and Pro controllers for the same price as a Quest Pro by default...
My hope for the future is that all VR headsets have eye and face tracking. It’s one of the reasons why I am a bit hesitant on buying Quest 3 because I feel the next iteration might have that.
@@maxjustice1542 well, from the recent leaks, the quest 4 isn’t supposed to come until 2026, and pro 2 in 2027. The upcoming quest 3S is supposed to be a lower budget version of the Quest 3, but with reduced cost in lenses and screens
@@maxjustice1542If you plan to play a lot of VR, 1-2 good years of use will make your money worth the investment regardless. Even if Quest 4 has face + eye, you can upgrade knowing you got your money’s worth
@@TheKally yeah I heard a bit about it. I’m curious how it will be for eye tracking and expressions. From what I know, uses the reflection of your eyes and light sensors rather than cameras, to track where your eye is looking
I've heard a fair share of ups and downs when it comes to face tracking. I've heard a lot of the times. It's not really worth it because it bugs out a lot
