This is the best video because the physician simultaneously does the stretches and explains how to do, plus the video has a picture of each stretch so that you can see from the back what is happening to you while you do each stretch. This physician has 360 degree understanding of the Shoulder Pain Problem, and I am convinced of his subject-expertise.
Ok I have to write another comment. I've done these 3 times per day for 2 days now. it's not much but I feel a DRAMATIC difference in my shoulders. They're no longer in constant pain, and I can actually sleep on my side again. THANK YOU DR PENG!!!

its so amazing how there's people out there who have earned this knowledge and are sharing it to people struggling for free. Recently hurt my shoulder and as a young adult who has dreams to become a firefighter this injury terrified me. I've felt so angry at the world because of it. For a lack of a better word, it's like magic! I had shoulder pain in right shoulder for 2 months and last week have been unmanageable with the pain, did this the first time last night and didn't need to get up in the middle of the night to get paracetamol for the first time in ages... I have been with struggling with chronic right hand shoulder pain for the past 2 months due to long working hours from bed. I am trying my best to avoid the bed as much as possible while working from home and additionally I have been doing these exercises almost everyday atleast once for the past 2 weeks and I must admit I am seeing a lot of improvement in flexibility of right shoulder. While following this video I felt relieve already halfway through and I’m so happy!!! I will be taking breaks at the desk now to do these stretches regularly. It feels SO good.

Hurt my shoulder back in February when I pushed too hard swimming without doing a proper warm up. I recently went for a ultrasound to see if there was any serious damage which there thankfully was not and took a cortisone shot to speed up the healing as it's taking forever to heal (it's now end April). I just did this stretch now and feel so much better after this . Will keep at it and see if it helps. I am tired of the pain and my inability to just get on with things.

Hi doc greetings from Mumbai India im a snr citizen n diabetic got frozen shoulders since 3 mths hv been to 4 physios taken tens n ultrasound do exercises at home but improved abt 60-70% now will do yr exercises
I’m 76 years old…watching your video was great! I have participated in CrossFit for over 10 years…these are part of the warm up exercises I am familiar with…thank you for making this available to all! I have severe arthritis in my neck due to an automobile accident….and stenosis of the spine…! These exercises have been a true grace for me …I have never had to take any medication for the intense pain…only these movements …and occasionally ice! Thank you🌺

Dr Peng, was having stiff left shoulder for a while & came across your video. The simple stretching exercises are easy to follow. It’s effective & have given me some relief. The external rotation stretch is kind of difficult for me at this stage, but, will persevere 😓 …

Excellent. I started yesterday with your program. Thank you. I‘m m, 60, fit and healthy, issues with joints. Left shoulder painful for years. Can’t swim. Pain when lifting even light weights. Can lift my arm to the front very well though. I guess arthrosis got me as in other parts of my body. I did many exercises already but after each effort such as weight training chest or even other, pain is increasing. Cannot put on shirt nor jacket normally. I hope these stretches will improve the situation. It’s frustrating. But, frankly, it’s less frustrating than starting another endless journey with doctors and specialists who would take me through X-ray, MRT, injections, endless therapies etc. So I trust on mobility exercises. Thanks
Very useful video Dr., Thank you. After having had rotator cuff tendon reattachment surgery on two of my shoulder tendons about a year ago, I am still struggling to regain some of my lost internal and external rotation range of motion. I tried doing the external rotation exercise you presented, but I’m not able to rotate my arm far enough on its own in order to be able to slip the other arm into place to then be able to apply that extra pressure necessary for a more successful stretch. I was wondering if there are any alternative external rotation stretches that I could try in order to work through the stiffness and regain better range of motion? Thank you again for your excellent videos.
@@JeffreyPengMD thank you for your kind reply Doctor. I came up with a similar stretch to yours last night by lying on my side at the edge of the bed. I put my arm in that same 90 degree position as in your external rotation stretch where the elbow is at the same elevation as the shoulder. Then I have the upper part of the arm supported by the bed and the part of the arm below the elbow hangs freely over the edge of the bed. From that position I can easily rotate internally or externally using pressure from the other arm to push the lower arm down towards the floor in either direction. It seems to be a good and safe means of stretching the range of motion in a way that I can leverage the strength from my other arm. Please kindly let me know if you have any thoughts on this.
